Makes some sense as rumors said Verizon was waiting for 5.1 to release the N6 and Verizons site finally says coming soon

When it comes out I may just bite the bullet and do a clean install so I can get my Verizon Sim activated as well.

Just saw this on phonearena.com

T-Mobile US going to get HD2 on 3/24. confirmed?

It seems like someone got access to a sheet that lists all the Q1 releases. The HD2 is listed for 3/24. I hope it's true, though I'd prefer earlier.
http://www.tmonews.com/2010/02/htc-hd2-coming-march-24th-zeppelin-called-cliq-xt/
3/24 has been the speculated release date for a while now, but remember, it's still speculating. why the date? Well if u look at tmobile USA deals, you will find that there is a sale on all htc products until 3/23 which is a pretty standard move to get rid of as many old devices before a knew one comes out. Also, there was a guy that supposedly works for tmobile that has confirmed the date. There was another specific reason for the date but I can't seem to recall it. Furthermore, this launch date would fit with all the rumors and CEO's expectations for the launch date.
So yes, I'm guessing 3/24 or 3/25 will be the launch date

Price Leaks from Best Buy

http://www.ozcarguide.com/technology/cellphone-pda/2845-sprint-htc-evo-4g-price
As of last week, Sprint made it available for customers to sign up and receive updates on when the HTC Evo 4G would release. Today, Best Buy has done the same over at their website.
Now that Best Buy was officially talking about the HTC Evo 4G I thought I drop by one of their outlets and see if they had any information to share. A Best Buy rep, from the Geek Squad, had advised that they will be selling the HTC Evo 4G on a $199 Sprint contract plan. He had no further information other than this but we can deduce it must be the 2 year plan. So now that we know it is priced similar to the Verizon HTC Incredible (and the now defunct Verizon Nexus One), it looks like the final decision would be based on which carrier you prefer.
OZCAR guesses that customers will more than likely choose their new Android smartphone based on this criteria since the phones are almost evenly matched. Personally I would opt for the Sprint HTC Evo 4G as it does have a few added extras.

i think saying "a few added extras" is a huge understatement...
Excellent! That's about what I was hoping though I was afraid they'd put it like the TP2. A buddy of mine has the HD2 and I was checking it out since it should be pretty similar. I liked the size, didn't seem obnoxious in my pocket. Can't wait!
This site is EXTREEMLY duboius
This site is not a trusted site for information. If the $199 price point is accurate I will be extreemly happy, but honestly I am expecting to hear $249 on May 19, 2010.

May 19th, 2010? Just wondering if you read that date somewhere or if you are just speculating? The "rumor" I believe Engadget was stating is a potential release date of June 6th or 13th. May would be wonderful, but I'm not holding out too much hope for that date as of now...

That's the release date for the phone. The speculated full spec/price/plan information / media blitz is rumored to start in mid-May.

Again, June 6th/13th is the release of the phone to sale to the public. Mid-May is when the rumored date that Sprint will release all pricing/plan/formal release date.
In short, May is when Sprint will start pushing the device to the public, letting us know when it will be released, how much it will cost, and the plan details for it.
June 6th/13th will be when the phone is released so that you, me and John Doe may purchase it.

FroYo (Android 2.2) is expected to be announced on May 19th as well. I'm curious to see the upgrade path for the EVO 4G to Android 2.2. Hopefully it won't be one of those endless waits for an upgrade. Maybe they'll switch to 2.2 last minute before release(probably not...)

This is very unlikely, and has been discussed quite a bit. The Evo will be shipping most likely with a modified version of 2.1 that supports 4G, however --
The Evo team has been rumored to be working very closely with FroYo, and will support it upon its release. The Evo, although not shipping with 2.2, will receive the update in a very timely manner (after the N1, of course)
Gotta remember this is Sprint's flagship device, and Dan's baby - there is no way they're going to let this thing fall behind in any way of any other device.

Now let's see what the off contract price is as I just got my Hero in December.

Yet another unkept promise from Motorola

Yet another unkept promise from Motorola.
Moto announced that the RAZR HD Jelly Bean update would be available for Latam users in 2013Q1 (in the general public JB announcement). It has been moved in its US page to 2013Q2, when checking my specific carrier. The local Motorola subsidiary doesn't even say IF the xt925 is going to be updated AT ALL (they just say they don't know anything about a possible update). Meanwile, in the US the previous-gen RAZR already has JB, and here in my country HTC and Samsung users of previous-gen handsets like the Galaxy S2 and Sensation already are running the carrier approved JB update. And with the S4 around the corner, I'll likely see people with handsets from two generations ago running more up to date software than I, having the current Motorola "flag****". Wtf, Moto. Why the discrimination against Latam users? I guess that I can discount that my brand new phone won't be elegible for Android 5, which is right around the corner. Never again purchasing from Googlerola.
Just an FYI about Moto.

Ok, first of all, take a pill, phill.
Second of all, you can already install the Brazilian JB firmware on your phone. Stop saying how other brands have got JB before while Moto did not. Motorola is not the fastest, certainly, but it's getting them faster than LG, Sony, and even some Samsung/HTC phones.
And last but definitely not least, why on earth do you care so freaking much about an update which will make your phone lose your HDMI features and only adds a few useless features (yes I'm talking about Google Now)?
You don't buy a Motorola for software updates, you buy it because of great build quality and call quality/battery life. Everyone knows that.
Anyway, you could just simply be patient, enjoy ICS and hdmi, which you will lose on JB, and wait for "Q2" which is already here and you should see the update in the next 45 days.
*And yes, I am from Latam and Motorola doesn't really discriminate Latam. In fact, we are the only ones with dedicated Moto web pages (they left all Europe except UK, Germany and France).
I often forget how bad it can be outside of the US/Europe. With the big markets and carriers here we usually get the updates first. I'm already on the newer version of JB. Although you need to remember not only do you have to wait for localization but for it to pass through your carrier as well so they can pack their own bloatware in. (An issue I've long dealt with being a Verizon customer, grandfathered unlimited, what can I do?)
Even if you've been pushed a few months you're not missing anything revolutionary. I'd not consider it the jump that GB>ICS was. Just keep in mind it may be your carrier's issue as much as Moto's.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD MAXX
You should buy unbranded to not depend on your carrier if you want timely updates and LATAM has the xt925 so we can unlock our device's bootloader, the xt926 U.S. guys are not so lucky, all in all I think moto latam is doing ok.

[THEORY] Android 5.1 released with MVNO on March 12?

There is a lot of talk about VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling coming to the Nexus 6.
T-Mobile has talked about Wi-Fi calling for months, and now on Phandroid the are saying Android 5.1 is shipping with VoLTE on the Verizon Nexus 6 on March 12. http://phandroid.com/2015/02/26/exclusive-verizon-nexus-6-march-12-android-5-1-volte-support/
At MWC, Google talked about a MVNO that didn't compete with the Big 4, yet it just pushed boundaries. There was talk of VoLTE and calls automatically reconnecting when they are dropped.
What if Google is planning on pushing 5.1 and their MVNO on March 12, starting with VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling support for the Nexus 6? Just an idea.

Wifi calling and volte will suffice until they can get band12 active
This is the stuff I come up with while I'm waiting for my ROM to compile
For verizon to launch on the 12th with 5.1, google is going to have to drop 5.1 into ASOP earlier than that. They can do an OTA on the 12th but they are going to need to release the code before hand so the verizon phones will have the update. I wonder if there are any verizon people that can get there hands on display units early and see if it has 5.1.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'm tempted to go to my local Verizon store and play stupid to see if they have any in the back you'd be shocked at what you can pull at the local Verizon stores... I used to be on the Big Red when I first started developing, I hard bricked my phone twice, both times they replaced it free of charge because I played stupid
T-Mo local stores typically know what they are doing, actually. I go there about once a month and the workers and I talk all about Android news and stuff we see on XDA and other developing stuff when there's no other customers in the store hahaha
That would be amazing!! We can hope right?

I have thought about this for the last month. Verizon is not going to Sale N6 until its capable taking advantage of the best there network has to offer. So Verizon, Motorola and Google are working together to fine tune 5.1. And we will see it with in a few days of Verizon release. Just an old guys theory

if anything, VZW is probably responsible for the delay in releasing 5.1
5.1 could drop as soon as this week.

Yes, The Rumors and speculation spread faster than a virus. No one has any real insider information, it's all just speculation based on each publishers preference. Kind of like how people interpret the bible.

Verizon Deals Coming Soon (according to LG's website)

Here is what I just found on LG's website. Not sure how recently this was put up:
http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/v20/promo/verizon
Hope that means the official release date and pre-order date are coming REAL soon! Sick of waiting for pricing and availability from Verizon... everyone else has at least SOMETHING out there (and AT&T has the actual phone in stores!).
reps at a store near me say november 5th for release, which makes sense since verizon is slow. also this is dumb that we have to send away for earphones.....it'll probably take a month just to get them lol
