[Q] will us cellular note 4 work with att bands? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Model#SM-N910R4
Will this model work on att? I think it has the same LTE bands but how about the HSPA and 3G stuff? Would I need to unlock it to work on att?

I am seeing such conflicting info... this site says:
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=6767&c=samsung_sm-n910r4_galaxy_note_4_lte-a_samsung_muscat

It will work and yes you will have to unlock it
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA Free mobile app

yes it will work for the GSM bands? That's where I am confused.

Yes AT&T uses 850/1900 gsm bands so yes it will work
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA Free mobile app

well yeah, that is assuming the second link is correct, but looking at the manuf. link I am skeptical, as it only lists LTE and CDMA bands, NO GSM.

Yea us cellular is CDMA so u will only get data
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA Free mobile app

weak, will have to pass on it then, thanks!

N910C/U/T/F works with att

How GSM 850 and HSPA 850 in t8585 model???

I can't use the HSPA 850 on t8585 model (Ecuador latin America).
Only GSM 850 band.
Can I hack the phone??? Or is impossible?
these are the bands for the t8585
GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900,
UMTS900, UMTS2100
so you will only get data (hsdpa umts 3G) on 900/2100
850 will only give you edge.
No you cannot hack it, it is fixed in the hardware. Sorry.

Thanks my friend. Have a nice day.
You need the T9193 Model. It's the Telstra Australian version. I got one.
Sorry I had to mention that because I'm proud I feel like I'm "beating the system" and actually using the phones I want on the network I want.

Htc HD2 in asia?

Hello all..
umm,just wanna ask .
Can T-Mobile,T8585,T8588,T9193 has a 3G connection or HSDPA in Asia?
Thank's
Where in Asia?
I found a helpful resource from gsmarena (recommended by fellow XDA member).
I googled "gsmarena mobile networks" then select "Mobile Networks - GSM and 3G Coverage".
Sorry, I cannot post links.
Then depending on the country/city's 3G frequency, you can determine which HD2 models will work for your location.
For example: Assuming you want to use it in Medan, Indonesia - for 3G/HSPA, it requires UMTS2100
T-Mobile = GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UTMS1700(AWS) / UMTS2100
T8585 = GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS900, UMTS2100
T8588 = GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS900, UMTS2100
T9193 = GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS850, UMTS2100
Hopefully this helps you.

hm,is that mean all version of HD2 with 3G or HSDPA works in Indonesia, especially medan?
Technically, yes. But I think it will be safer to ask your wireless provider to be certain. I am not sure how telecom companies operate in Indonesia - same frequency for all locations in the country?
I am thinking of getting HD2 too; looking for used T9193 (I need 850 and/or 1900 for Rogers Wireless). I have a data plan but I do not browse the internet very often so hopefully it does not affect me that much.
Sorry I was of much help. Maybe someone in Indonesia can answer your question

Cellular Bands

Hello all,
I've seen a few similar posts on this topic, but none that seem to answer my question.
I had a Nexus 5 in the past, which was compatible with all US Carrier bands. So I'm curious how it works with the Note 4 (Snapdragon version).
I've noticed people saying the T-Mobile version is the one to get, because it may come unlocked. If this is the case, what other carriers is it optimally compatible with?
Please feel free to throw in more info and educate me!
Any takers?
The Tmobile verson will have at least these bands.
GSM 850/1900
HSDPA Band 2/5/1/4
LTE 2/4/5/12/17/(29 download only)
Go here for LTE networks. Then scroll to North America. This will give you the frequencies for the bands.
Go here for the HSDPA/UMTS bands.
Here are the frequencies for North American carriers. Match them up. You will find that the Tmobile version is most compatible with ATT and ATT mvno's. Keep in mind that there are 3 blocks to the 700mhz lte band so they are NOT the same. It will not work on that verizon band. Also CDMA networks will not work.
AT&T: GSM+LTE, 2G/3G: 850MHz & 1900MHz, 4G: 700MHz, 1700MHz/2100MHz
Verizon: CDMA+LTE, 2G/3G: 850MHz & 1900MHz, 4G: 700MHz, 1700MHz/2100MHz (planned)
Sprint: CDMA+WiMax+LTE, 2G/3G: 800MHz & 1900Mhz, 4G: 800MHz & 1900MHz (LTE), 2500MHz (WiMax)
T-Mobile: GSM+LTE, 2G/3G: 1900MHz, 1700MHz/2100MHz. 4G: 1700MHz/2100MHz
US Cellular: CDMA+LTE, 2G/3G: 850MHz, 1900MHz. 4G: 1700MHz/2100MHz
Metro PCS: CDMA+LTE, 2G/3G: 1700MHz/2100MHz, 1900MHz. 4G: 1700MHz/2100MHz
Cricket: CDMA, 2G/3G: 1900MHz (now uses ATT LTE bands)

Thanks for the info, even though I admit, it's super confusing.
Do all bands need to be supported for it to work properly with a carrier?
Will not supporting some be detrimental for speed or coverage?
I'm assuming there are many versions of this phone being made. I was hoping manufacturers were moving to more of a universal radio standard.

Some phones will work for voice but not for data on other carriers. (GSM compatibility) Others you can get LTE data but no voice. So yes, not having certain bands does hurt. On top of that a carrier may be using only certain bands in your city and if you don't have those you are in bad shape.

Thanks mircury.
On a related note, I'm planning to eventually purchase a Note Edge, unlock it from T-Mobile and take a vacation to the Philippines but use a local sim.
Based on the wiki link you provided, Philippines has the following frequencies/bands:
850/5
1800/3
2100/1
The T-Mobile frequencies you listed are:
T-Mobile: GSM+LTE, 2G/3G: 1900MHz, 1700MHz/2100MHz. 4G: 1700MHz/2100MHz
Does that mean it will indeed be possible for me to use an unlocked T-Mobile branded Note Edge with a local Philippines sim ?
(I had thought about purchasing an international version of the phone, but based on having T-Mobile, it seems their branded phone would work within the U.S. and Philippines(local sim)).
You should be fine. Gsm 850 will get you voice and umts 2100 should get you data.

So in the US it's showing AT&T uses bands 17, 4 and 2. Tmobile has those bands in its N4. So a Tmobile branded N4 should pull LTE exactly as an AT&T branded N4 would, correct?
Also band 4 shows 3 variations, 1700abe, 1700d and 1700e, which one of these does the tmobile have, or does it not matter? Tmobile shows 1700d, 1700e and 1700f, but not 1700abe. Also AT&T 700 is bc, but Tmobile 700 is a.
Thanks.
Yes, the tmobile n4 should get att lte fine just like the tmobile n3, s4 and s5 before it. You are correct that the 700mhz block that tmobile purchased from Verizon is different than the other blocks att has. However, since samsung puts the same hardware and radios in both the att and tmobile version, the one you buy from tmobile will have the added benefit of receiving those other 700mhz blocks.

Great! Thank you for the confirmation. I initially was worried that if I got the T-Mobile version I'd have fast LTE speeds here but slow in Philippines(with the local sim).
But when I considered getting the International version, I'd have fast speeds there, but not here in the U.S. This puts me more at ease.

T-Mobile compatibility?

So, this device looks pretty sweet. And it might be a good upgrade from my Note 4. The only question I have is, will it get LTE on T-Mobile?
Since this whole sub-forum is dead, I guess I'll have to wait until some people get their hands on it over here.
I am also wondering the same thing but C9000 doesn't support any of the TMO LTE Bands. Need to wait for Samsung to release the C900F in the future

Thanx. Any good website you can recommend?
I have the Asian version which was bought in Hong Kong.
I can confirm it doesn't work with O2 and partly with 3 (Three)
When i say partly with 3 (Three) is because it will pick up LTE on the 1800 MHz where available and not the 800MHz
Whereas o2 is completely on the 800MHz range and therefore unhelpful.
4g.co.uk/4g-frequencies-uk-need-know
according to the above link, you can get LTE on frequencies 1800MHz and 2600MHz depending what mobile provider you are with and the availability in your area.
Bottomline, 800MHz/Band 20 isnt supported on the C9 PRO.
My question is are the supported Bands software or hardware enabled??
If it possible to unlock the 800MHz via software??

SM-C900F should support 800MHz/B20.
This is what I found to compare.
T-Mobile uses these bands:
GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS850 (B5)
UMTS1700/2100 (B4), UMTS1900 (B2), UMTS2100 (B1)
LTE850 (B5), LTE1700/2100 (B4), LTE2600 (B7), LTE1800 (B3), LTE1900 (B2), LTE700 (B12)
The Galaxy C9 is compatible with these bands:
2G bands: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900,
3G bands: HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100,
4G bands: LTE2100 (B1), TD-SCDMA2000, TD-SCDMA1900, LTE1800 (B3), LTE2600 (B7), LTE900 (B8), TD-LTE2500 (B41), TD-LTE2600 (B38), TD-LTE2300 (B40), TD-LTE1900 (B39).
The important numbers to look at are T-Mobile using 850/900/1800/1900 and the C9 getting 850/900/1800/1900/2100. That covers what we need for what T-Mobile calls 3G. Note: What T-Mobile calls G3 is called G4 by other companies. Thus what they call 4G is 4G LTE only. So by these numbers, T-Mobile actually gets 4G. IF I understood correctly what I read
As for 4G LTE T-Mobile uses B1/B2/B3/B4/B5 and B12.
Of the T-Mobile bands, the C9 is compatible with only B1 and B3 as well as a bunch of irrelevant ones. This means that if you are in an area where T-Mobile is using B1 or B3, you are in luck and will get 4G LTE. If not, you will have to be happy with 4G.
However, I came here trying to find out how to set it up and which of three slots to put my T-Moblile SIMM card into, so this didn't help me at all.
I hope it helped you!!

Ugh, I finally received the C9 Pro C900F/DS for my wife (got it from Malaysia), and turns out I was mistaken after all: It does NOT have Band 20 (I used 'LTE Discovery' app to check). I was under the assumption that Samsung's "F" models are the global variants, and always have Band 20. I guess I was wrong.
anyone using the C9 pro in Canada? is it compatible with any service provider's LTE?
Mine was able to use the 3G HSPA + before I update to 7.1.1. After official update, I only can use EDGE. I need help!!!! How do I know is my hardware problem or the software problem??

LG V20 At&t (US) H-910 v.s H-915 Freedom (CAN)

Hello,
I was wondering what the differences between the h910 and h915.
I am currently using a freedom mobile unlocked h915 on the Fido network which is similar to the At&t network. Would the h910 rooting method work maintaining Fido connections?
It seems like the specifications are the same including the frequency range. But once rooted, Freedom mobile members were unable to connect to their carrier network. (LTE 66 1,700 MHz AWS-3)
