wipe before installing, do it and then try again ? Definitely up-to-date installing the rom.

Guys bad news, i went to service centre and they said my phone motherboard spoilt, need to pay RM870 to change to new motherboard as my warranty just finished last week! bad luck. I declined the offer and gonna try to flash the stock firmware myself.
Currently i still able to boot into my phone, but it will keep restarting suddenly, all sorts of goodleapps not working, samsung keyboard not working or go into infinite bootloop, is this hardware issue or software related more?
When the samsung keyboard failed, i cant key in anything at all, but im able to make call but i have no contact coz cant signin to google to retrieve my contacts.
I downloaded the latest rom from sammobile and tried to use odin to flash the stock firmware but it will fail with the this error after modem.bin

NOTE: The phone was rooted with the I9505XXUGNF1 rom and then flashed a Phoenix ROM using CWM on a SD. I've flashed a modem because I was loosing the carrier often and reading on google that plp have fixed this issue this way, during the flash it stopped and now I'm stuck with odin not flashing any rom and the device stuck with the message that tells you that there was a problem, try with kies (kies is not even recognizing it). I'd like to have the device back with the stock ROM and that bug of the carries fixed if is possible.
Thx, Francesco.

Hi, I've already tried to reinstall the USB drivers, used different usb port, used the laptop... Even tried to flash the right PIT file, which did flashed ok, then it failed onto the same file..
I've succefully flashed on the MODEM, and i've got the Galaxy S4 logo as normal but it was stuck there, so i've tried to flash the last ufficial ROM unj8 something and... failed onto the system image, stuck again...

the last thing i ever tried when my phone bricked is to use kies..i use that when my download failed and stuck on samsung logo
Ok so i was running unofficial cyanogen mod 13 alpha on my s4 9515, and after a while apps started randomly crashing and there were some other problems, so I decided to go back to stock touchwiz rom. I wiped cache and dalvik cache, put the .tar file into PDA in Odin, and Odin sad FAILED, missing pit partition, and after this I can't turn on my phone or go to recovery mode, it just says "there was a problem upgrading your firmware, connect your phone to Kies", which I also did but no luck. I can still go into download mode though...
So can anybody provide me with such .pit file? Or is there something else that I could do? Any help would be greatly appreciated

In 99% of the cases you won't need the pit file. You just need to use a different usb port / different usb cable.

Can you flash a custom recovery? If so try that, perform a full wipe and flash the custom rom again.

No I can't unfortunately, also tried that already, fails in Odin like everything else...
The closest thing to success was flashing the pit file in the link that you gave me with a kitkat stock rom, it gets almost to the end and then fails

You tried all the usb ports in your pc when flashing with .pit and this rom? The Odin log shows nothing strange so my guess would still be usb cable or usb port.

Flash twrp go to advance wipe and wipe (system/data/cache/dalvuc cache/internal storage)
Now Go to download mode and flash stock firmware.
Hopefully it will flash without any errors.
After flashing go to stock recovery and do factory reset+wipe cache)
the method gives me the same result

Yes you can flash any custom rom just make sure you backup EFS from twrp if anything goes wrong.
But i suggest you download different firmware from another region csc.
If you remember what was your orignal csc country code when you bought the phone for example if it was (BTU UK FIRMWARE) then download the same one from www.sammobiles.com/firmwares
Try restart pc and use different usb cable.
Try odin version 3.10 is very stable.
reporting back something odd happened
in the end the error remained the same and rom was not booting , then i re-flashed twrp and boom the original stock rom booted .... how was that possible ? )))
ps: thanks for the help at least the stock rom booted and everything is well ...
