[Q] CM10 Recovery enable to wipe Data

Hello! I have installed the CM10 from pershoot whit recovery, modem and bootloader .tar from droidbasement.com. Recovery is able to wipe cache but when i want to wipe data it force restart in recovery and nothing have been erased. Do i can wipe all whit Odin or something else?? :cyclops:
If i format every folder From the recovery on my tablet do i will able to flash original rom whit odin to return to stock or it will break something?
I had these experience as u described.
You likely have to flash any ICS stock rom from Odin and then root your device in order to get this resolve.

Did i brick my Phone ? - Bootloop ...

Hi,
i will start at the beginning. i got my S4 (i9505) with contract and branding Germany - Deutsche Telekom.
Today i rooted it with CF-autoroot and put twrp recovery in it - It was working.
Then i tried to flash Hox Hound Rom - bootloop. So i made a factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, cache. Put the battery out for about 3 min - many many times Still bootloop.
then i decided to go back to stock rom for a clean install - bootloop. (I9505XXUBMF8_I9505OXABMF8_I9505XXUBMF8_HOME.tar)
i can go to Download mode and recovery sometimes the recovery doesn't show up just the wallpaper.
Can someone PLEASE help.
Right now im downloading another stock rom ..
thanks

Flash Philz Touch recovery with Odin 3.04 in downloadmode, that should solve your problem.Link http://d-h.st/wSF. TWRP and CWM are buggy atm. After that you can flash Fox Hound Rom again.

did odin says "pass"?
bootloop fix:
-wipe cache and data from recovery, if not,
-restore nandroid backuo if present. if not,
-flash stock firmware with odin, make wipe after flashing, if not,
-flash pit file with the firmware in odin, make wipe after flashing.

[Q] do I need to wipe / factory reset after updating to stock 4.3?

The 4.3 stock android is finally out in my country for the i9500, I tried to install it via Kies but I had that "failed to run firmware upgrade unknown error occurred" error so I download the official firmware from Sammobile, so before I flash it with Odin 3.07, do I need to do a factory reset after the update? because I don't want to lose any data.

Rule NR1 - KIES is just for drivers to install them on windows PC
Rule NR2 - Odin is your best friend.
I remember how I did - I went to CWM, I wiped cache, dalvik cache, and files (<-- sorry, I forgot right not what is above "wipe cache partition")
than I flashed RESTORE files with repartitioning (with pit file) and then I turned on my mobile phone - everything worked. than root, than phill's touch CWM than "goldengun" (similar ROM name) and now I have good working functioning Android phone with backup in my SD card

Help About TWRP...

Hi...
For First Time Use TWRP ' I Wipe Everything And Factory Reset My But When I Reboot ' My OS Is Gone !!!
Can Anyone Help Me To Recover My OS ?
You are wiped your system
Now you must flashed new one via Odin Stock or via recovery Custom one

Factory reset

I've upgraded to 5.02, so now if I do a factory reset, will the phone load the kitkat it came with or lollipop?
Lollipop.
Thanks
in reply to factory reset
when you flash a custom recovery the phone deletes the old recovery and applies the new one, the only way to change that is to reflash the recovery with another rom or the stock rom
