Different IMEI and phone works only on 2G network

Hi!
I bought an Note 3 N9005 and I noticed that the imei the phone displays it's different than the one on the back and on the box.
I have to select the network manually and it only works on EDGE when I'm on the web.
Could it b3 that the phone was sim locked and during the unlocking the imei was changed?
If so, what can I do?

[Q] Can I flash UK firmware on my canadian GS5?

I bought my GS5 from Canada which means it's set on canadian LTE bands, now I'm trying to use my phone in UK and it doesn't connect to data network, not even HSPA so I was thinking that flashing a UK firmware might solve the problem because I read somewhere that since GS5 runs on Qualcomm its hardware supports all LTE bands by default but I am still afraid that the wrong firmware might brick my device. Can anyone please confirm that information. thx a lot
As long as that firmware is supported by your specific GS5 model this should not be a problem.
I live in South Africa and have flashed many stock firmwares from different countries.
Just a note... you might not have to reflash the entire ROM but merely flash a supported modem/change the csc. Changin the csc does however factory reset your phone.
Yes but a different csc file from the stock rom version will prevent the phone from receiving ota update. Anyway it's not my phone so I won't take any risks and the owner seems to be fine with hspa connection.
Search sammobile.com for the phone model and stock firmware from UK. Just flash that and then you won't have to change the csc

In fact the hardware is N9005 in ordinary in turkey when you buy a phone from abroad you must do a Passport registration
or you can write another phones IMEI (which is illegal)
i wonder the signal loss is about writing anther IMEI
but only in 2g i am having signal loss
I flashed alot of N9005 custom roms i am sure the hardware is N9005

how can i know this
carrier: Turkey - Turk Telekom Avea
Phone: N9005
Looks like Turk Telekom supports these gsm frequencies: http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html
Specs for n9005 here: https://www.sammobile.com/devices/specs/SM-N9005/
Under 2g, looks like it should work.
Problem is present with the stock ROM?

Volte works for me in hk and china traveling. If you are in another region it will not work since csc does not include your regions carriers.

set to auto. all you can do is maybe try to flash your regions csc with odin. Google for directions i will not answer how to do it. still have issues sell/donate your phone to a dev or someone who can give it a good home.

Flashing different modem ?

Hi,
at the moment im running LOS14.1 . Before that i was on latest original german DBT Samsung firmware.
As i have weak cellular signal i want to switch to different modem (in my case to german Telekom DTM as this is my provider also).
Is it necessary to switch also bootloader and CSC ?
Thanks
nah just flash a CP and your good my friend
I doubt that a different modem will solve anything, actually it might make things worse. Your phone already had the correct bands for Germany.
Scroll down in the table to Germany:
