I bought my GS5 from Canada which means it's set on canadian LTE bands, now I'm trying to use my phone in UK and it doesn't connect to data network, not even HSPA so I was thinking that flashing a UK firmware might solve the problem because I read somewhere that since GS5 runs on Qualcomm its hardware supports all LTE bands by default but I am still afraid that the wrong firmware might brick my device. Can anyone please confirm that information. thx a lot
As long as that firmware is supported by your specific GS5 model this should not be a problem.
I live in South Africa and have flashed many stock firmwares from different countries.
Just a note... you might not have to reflash the entire ROM but merely flash a supported modem/change the csc. Changin the csc does however factory reset your phone.
Yes but a different csc file from the stock rom version will prevent the phone from receiving ota update. Anyway it's not my phone so I won't take any risks and the owner seems to be fine with hspa connection.
Search sammobile.com for the phone model and stock firmware from UK. Just flash that and then you won't have to change the csc

I wanna buy an i9505G but I need it with 900mhz band support as the 9505 international, so it maybe possible by simply flashing official i9505G firmware on i9505.?
I'm not clear about, on other samsung devices I can flash firmware from different countries, also mixing csc.
I've never own an LTE device yet so I never flashed firmware from foreign countries with different bands.
I want a full nexus like experience including OTA updates.

Hi,
I just purchased a Galaxy s5 sm-g9006v. This is the chinese unicon Samsung galaxy s5. It's unlocked.
I have a t-mobile sim. The phone works fine but the only problem is that it's only running 2g speeds! and i've been reading and i think it's a problem with the bands the phone is working on.
I've also been reading about changing the firm-ware modem but I need a little help.
My question :
Can I change the bands that my phone is using to t-mobile compatible bands to run hspa+ or lte or 4g ?
If so, is it as simple as flashing flashing t-mobile firmware from sammobile (sm-g900t) to my phone via odin?
And if I can fix it without having to flash the whole original firmware by just flashing the modem (which is 5mb), where can i get the modem for that firmware and how do I flash it alone ?
Thank you
Suppose in the case I bricked my phone and I don't know the baseband version of it. Now what is the option to recover? Flash stock firmware via Odin but don't know the baseband??? What will happens if I flash another country stock firmware?? Will the phone hard brick?? Or it will work fine?? Thank you
The worst case is that your sim card will not work with that software. This is only if your phone is carrier locked.
If it is unlocked, or neverlocked as others put it, then you can flash any firmware you like, as long as it is for your respective phone model.

Make sure that this phone isn't locked to O2 or any UK carrier.

You should flash Nepal firmware then. It would give you better (more match) CSC code. The CSC (Consumer Software Customization) code contains the info about software packages specific to a particular region, carrier branding and also APN (Access Point Name) settings for data connection.
In my case, my S4 i9500 was made in Vietnam and when I received it, it had a Thailand firmware on it. It is a network unlocked phone. I live in USA. The first lollipop firmware came out was for Russia. So I flahsed the Russian firmware. My CSC showed that it is a russian phone. I used that phone on AT&T network that available in USA, China and Korea, and I had no problem.
Nothing will happen.
@sway8966
Are you really to suggest him to flash Nepali firmware on UK phone? I'll unlock it (the carrier-lock) first and then flash other countries' firmware if need.

Sorry to bump this up but im having problems with my s6 edge (Maybe because of this).
I recently acquired a phone from a relative from UK. The OS is android 7.0 and the carrier is three.co.uk (H3G), we have reset the phone to its factory settings and accidentally didnt noticed that it do auto update on the OS, then this bootloops starts to occur.
The phone isnt network-locked because the phone can receive signals, messages and phone calls on local sim.
Now upon browsing around SamMobile, There is an available Firmware for this mobile and even the firmware which is available to Philippines but only ver. 6.0.1
Is this possible to use the PH one or still i go to UK(h3g)?
help please
once i take the firmware from other countries and then i install to my phone,
does my phone will going to operate that firmware even if it come from another country
because i tried to find firmware according to my respective country unfortunately i missed it.
so please i need your assistance ..please
Hi,
I had bought a Canadian s4 on ebay with version 4.4.2, I had root it for unlock the Italian language, and worked fine for two years but without ever receiving the H + and H bands, he was always on LTE or 4G...
A month ago I decided to do an upgrade it and factory reset because te phone had become very slow, so after total wipe I downloaded the stock Lollipop I337MUMUGOH3 Trinidad & Tobago (because unlocked and more native language) and flash it with Odin, but after the softkeys have not worked ... I tried some other stock rom without succes, with I337MUMUFNE2_I337MUUBFNE2_TTT 4.4.2 the touch is coming back to work even if typing * # 2663 # the phone shows fw version is 0x10 and the part's fw version is 0x1a and can't get touch fw update (IC's F/W is higher than Bin's F/W), but I lost LTE bands, now working bands are always H and H+ and never LTE or 4G ....
I tried to install different modems taken from other stock rom, but without success ...and QPST show me all bands enabled...
Maybe i must change the baseband ??? Witch baseband? And how can i do it??
How can I get back the lte without losing softkey? And how can update the softkey fw?
I do not know what else to try :crying::crying::crying:
Thanks in advance..
I recommend not trying to flash the AT&T s4 sgh-i337 firmware to the Canadian s4 sgh-i337m. If you are able to flash the stock AT&T firmware onto the Canadian s4, you will have a locked bootloader.
Did you change your cell provider? Does the sim card get LTE in another phone?
You can flash the stock Canadian LP ROM from sammobile.com to see if the buttons work properly.
I recommend not upgrading the touch firmware at all as there is a chance it will disable all touch functions.
But my model phone is SGH-I337M!!

The sgh-i337m does not have a locked bootloader. The AT&T s4 has a locked bootloader so flashing at&t firmware to your Canadian s4 could result in a locked bootloader or a bricked phone.
There are no stock ROMs for the at&t s4 above 4.1.2 from sammobile.com like there is with the Canadian version.
It's up to you If you want to flash AT&T firmware to the Canadian s4.

I'm confused, I need some advice how to restore lte bands on my phone without broke the softkey, I did not say want to flash the ATT firmware....
Some ideas?
I apologize for referencing the AT&T firmware. I misread your original post.
Have you tried flashing firmware for a Canada. It doesn't matter whether your flash firmware for Rogers, Telus, or Bell as long as it is at least version OH3.

But the Canadian firmware not work properly in Italy, I used it for 2 years without H bands, the TTT firmware is for the same phone but is open, maybe I must change the csc?
I suggested flashing the Canadian firmware to see if the firmware fixes the problem with soft keys. Once that is fixed, you can try other fixes to get lte.
You can flash the stock Canadian lollipop ROM and change the csc by dialing *#272*imei#.
I am on Telus and bought a USA phone. I have flashed the updates using Odin and the HOME_CSC so that it could be carrier set to Telus.
However, it still does not get wifi calling and volte even though I've had the carrier enable it too. The CSC did enable HD voice though.
My question is whether I can flash the offical Telus firmware on my phone as the hardware looks to be the same.
I believe I will need the modded Odin but just wondering if anyone has had success with other models rom on their phones.
