has anyone tried to root this ROM yet?
I havd downloaded this, but was wondering if the latest SU and TWRP will work with this ROM.
anyone tried this yet?
Thanks for sharing
Update. I tried to flash this on my US Note 10.1 2014 edition and it failed!. I really had a hard time trying to flash any previous Stock rom after that too (NK1; NK2)-they all fail. I did manage to flash TWRP and do a previous rom restore.
I just wonder if the "Unknown" version description does not mean it still in 'beta'?
Any ideas why this is not working?

I was able to downloaded and right now has been installed and is optimizing 176 apps.
It was really slow with my comcast wi- fi, I was going to leave and switched my comcast wi-fi to foxfy connection on my phone and downladed in 3 mins. Comcast was going to take 40 mins.
My tablet was successfully updated.
Are you sure it wasn't P600UEUCOB1? I just downloaded and installed that in the US.

That's an interesting version. It seems Samsung has changed a lot in this firmware. Normally a higher letter (XXUC->XXUD) could mean a higher Android version, but it's still 4.4.2. So another reason is a lot of under the hood changes.

I installed this on my Australian P600 and it's no longer able to recognise my 5GHz (and hence WifI AC) network but connects fine on 2.4GHz. Everything else seems fine. Previously I was running BRI firmware and 5GHz worked well.
Ok, just installed Bootloader and Kernel on Note S ROM. It feels smoother than the previous version.

Maybe you already not that, but bootloader is signed but not blocked on 2.3.3, this is the case for the European Galaxy Tab P-1000 ROM. So I can't guarantee on these one, but I think it will be the same bootloader.

Yes, sorry, I meant if the bootloader was secure. I believe all GB so far has the bootloader signed but not secured.
BTW, JPJ looks okay. Not much different from JPI AFAICS (still missing SIP option in calling menu). Rooting with JQ1 works.

Any chance that anyone has the stock firmware for these? I kinda need this one P1000DXJPJ and the download link is down already (I guess because its been 7 years!)
Sorry for being such a noob but I have never ordered a device internationally before. Anyways I have just rooted my device (SM-P605) and I'm curious what the latest firmware is because I don't believe I get OTA upgrades here in the States. Right now I'm running Android 4.3 on baseband version P605XXUBMJ4 and Build Number JSS15J.P605ZSUBMJ6.
Is there a newer version I should be using? Trying to check via the official bounces me to Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available.
Also, are there plans for Kit Kat in the future? Or perhaps there already is a mod that includes the latest version of Android.
MJ9 is the Latest i guess

How do I manually upgrade to MJ9? Do I need to un-root and flash to stock before doing anything. I also notice that my basebuild and build are running different numbers. How did that happen, is it a problem, and how do you fix it?

You will not brick it, in the worst case you'd have to flash it again with another CSC. CSC is the region of your device. For a close shot, forget about the country and either flash US firmwares if your device is US, or EU firmwares if your device is anywhere from Europe.
No, it is included in the firmware file. There is absolutely no reason to look for a baseband file (or RIL).
Unless your driver somehow got screwed, which usually happens when you install wrong, or badly matched kernels. In that case you will hear very disturbed sound (this error is very clear, if you get this problem, you know 100% that it is there. It isn't like "did i hear a scratch in my speaker for a second?").

Get Odin, get the drivers, read the instruction. Just the usual odin procedure.
You don't need to unroot/re-stock, but if you are very paranoid, you can use a custom recovery to wipe /system before flashing (don't do it unless you know you need it. If you don't - you don't need to do it. I am only telling you this because you might want it in the future when you try many different modded ROMs).
Baseband and build v. can differ, this is not a problem nor something you should worry about.

No there isnt. When KitKat comes we get Multiuser Support.
You can't downgrade the bootloader.
Flashing an older firmware that the bootloader doesn't support will end up with a tablet hanging on the samsung logo. Just need to reflash newer firmware to fix
Flashing a bootloader for another device - you might as well throw it off a highrise and hope it still works when it hits bottom...
P600 and P601 roms WILL NOT work with the P605. It's like trying to use helicopter parts to fix a car engine....
Dear all,
I'm starting this thread because I understand that many of us are interested on multi user functionality on Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition.
I will start by mentioning the things I've learned so far, regarding the Wi-Fi model (SMP600). I think that more or less the same applies to the 3G & LTE models as well.
- European Models have the MJ9 firmware
- Some have the MK1 update, but this doesn't add multi user functionality
- The US MK1 firmware (P600UEUBMK1), adds the multi user functionality
My understanding is that we can all flash the US MK1 firmware via odin, without tripping the Knox counter. Recently I flashed an EGY MK1 firmware on my EUR galaxy, without any issues at all.
But, can anybody confirm that the US MK1 multi user works? I remember reading somewhere that it was problematic.
So lets discuss all this here, if its ok with you.

Yeah EU/UK are still on old firmware, i reckon we wont get an update until whenever we get KitKat now so could be a few months away before we get Multi-user support. Just have to wait unfortunatly.

Who is to blame for the regional update delays really? Is it Samsung decision to not release them OTA everywhere or is it the lack of interest regionally?
well i decided to finally flash the MK1 XAR*fw on my "Greek" galaxy and Im using it for some days now without any problems.
switching between users is fast and without any freeze issues at all. I dont have the re-enabled bloatware issue, but I have them disabled in both profiles anyway.
Also no knox triggered and everything official and smooth.

Except for restricted profiles still missing. So if you want to create another profile for kids, guests etc, you still need to log in with a Google account if you want to install apps. And if you want to install some apps you've bought on your main account, then that account must be your main Google account meaning shared search history, calendar, Gmail etc.
Sucks but well... This is Samsung

Multi-user now also works on my Note 10.1 - 2014 using KitKat (SPAIN FW)
Now for all of you out there also waiting for the Multi-User option. I was waiting for it as well, but wasn't confident Samsung would include it in the 4.4 Stock update, and it was missing in the original 4.3 Stock FW. Excellent news, since the Multi-user option is now actually there in the KitKat 4.4 update for the SM-P600/WiFi/32Gb (as it is on my other tablet, the Sony Z2 Tablet, which was delivered with 4.4 from the start).

After we pm chat last days about rollback to T900UEUAND4 as unique possibility for rooting, i decided to do a last try before that, and luckily works perfect:
-just did a factory reset to restore from B3 recovery i been trying to prev installed T900UEUANI1 stock, wipe caché with stock recovery, odined cf-auto-root and voilá, just rooted!
No need to do the old B3-rollback-prior-D4 method now. Just a normal auto-root with no hassling.

Reflashing
Hi,
I will reflash factory Firmware, i have rottet and have custom recovery. I already have download Firmware and odin can somebody explain me please hove to do it i will be greatfull thanks everybody :good:
I understand that these are stock roms, curious if non-stock roms like CM12 and similar will ever make their way over? My OR rom is awesome, I'm just one of those fools that's constantly customizing for the fun of it.

Flash at your own risk.
Hello
Rooting my device voids the warranty, but if I have any problems with my device and need support ... Can I flash the stock ROM and take it to customer support?
Without them finding out?

No. You can reinstall stock ROM and have the tablet working as before, but after installing anything custom the efuse will be blown. This means that it can always be detected that custom firmware/kernels/recovery/root/etc have at one point been installed. It also means security containers like Knox will refuse to operate.
I tried out the October (J) release for T815 which has been released for DBT (Germany) and a few other places. (link here). PDA version: T815XXU2AOJ4. Included CSCs: BTU (UK), DBT (Germany), ITV (Italy), XEF (France), XEO (Poland). Android 5.0.2. Previously I had the latest release for PHN (Netherlands), which is still T815XXU1AOG9.
Stagefright bug fixed according to Lookout. Not fixed according to Trustable.
New app icons
Still no multi-user
For DBT, there are four German bloatware apps included. All four can be uninstalled without root.
No Camera2 API
Dialer doesn't accept the secret codes like *#06#, *#0*#, *#1234#
Weird display behaviour (flashing, freezing) at very low battery percentages
Warning: you can not fully downgrade from this version "2" firmware to the version "1" firmwares we had until now! You can partially downgrade if you leave the bootloader and the modem as is (so downgrade only PDA and CSC).
This is great. Any chance that someone has the Stock ROM for the SM-T817V? Or does the firmware for the T815 work on this device?
The October T815XXU2AOJ4 version is now also out for T815 in the Netherlands (PHN), which is bloatfree. No other CSCs included. Link here. The dialer accepts the secret codes like "*#1234#" again. Otherwise the experience is the same. Again, you can't downgrade from this version.
Can the 5.1.1 update be flashed on any SM-T810?
I purchased one in Australia and when I tried to follow the instructions and flash with ODIN I get an error SW REV CHECK FAIL DEVICE when using 5.1.1_T810XXU1BOH7_T810XAR1BOH7_XAR.zip
I had and un-rooted device, which just received an update (11/03) to version LMY47X.T710XXU2BOJ1. I ended up rooting and flashing TWRP on it, but I'm having an issue writing to my external SD card. Is there something I can flash to fix this?
Thanks
edit: Google was my friend - manually updated platform.xml.

The T810XXU1BOH7 firmware is very old (H = August I think). Apparently for your device it constitutes a downgrade, which it doesn't allow. Download the most recent firmware to flash. If e.g. you currently have firmware with a "2A" (5.0.2) on your device, you can't flash this "1B" (5.1.1) firmware even though it seems like an upgrade of android, because it is a downgrade of the bootloader. Download firmware with "2B" (5.1.1) in the name and I think it may work.
I don't have the T810, but T815 which is still stuck at 5.0.2...
Is it possible to flash a T710 firmware onto a T715 device? I don't need LTE at all so I don't mind losing it (I have no SIM). I just want to get faster updates because I need multi-user support from 5.1.1.
