Hello all I recently upgraded to a note 3 from verizon, and I have unlimited data did the sim trick and still have my UDP!
The problem is I want to install a custom rom so I can thether and watch xbmc, have better battery performance and a faster phone. I rooted and installed custom roms for years on several phones, but the note 3 has become impossible for me so I'm seeking help.
I have kk 4.3 and the MJ7 baseband.....I rooted using kingo then I installed the super user from the play store....then installed busy box(stericson) ...then the latest safestrap 3.75 I think...Once installed I hit the boot to recovery and it goes to the samsung boot screen with the open lock then restarts to the same screen again with the open lock and boots up to the android os... I have installed and uninstalled different version of safestrap and no recovery still. I have softbricked my phone several time already and recovered using odin...My knox counter is on 0x1 but I dont care about that...I want my phone with custom rom I hate this verizon bloatware! Please help!

OK...I soft bricked my Note 3. Here are the specifics.
Verizon Note 3 Retail
4.4.2 OTA firmware
Had SafeStrap installed
Had GeoHot rooted
I started out wanting to throw a custom ROM on my phone through SafeStrap. I couldnt get the Eclipse ROM to load into SafeStraps ROM slots. After much failure and the ROM not loading I had wiped EVERYTHING. Not a problem as I figured I would start over. Now my Note 3 seems to be bootlooping in the Samsung logo. My question is this.
How do I get out of this softbrick?
And how do I finally get this eclipse ROM to be my daily driver? Had lots of fun with my old Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but this is giving me some issues.
Hello everyone,
i am fairly new to the world of rooting and recently encountered a problem while flashing a rom
i have the at&t samsung galaxy note 3 N-900A running 4.3 jellybean (2 year contract expired and i got and used the unlock code)
i rooted the phone using the kingo root app, because i could not update the phone (I recently moved out of the USA so i cant connect to an at&t server to update)
i installed safestrap recovery 3.71 and it was running fine
i found a tutorial from galaxy note 3 root for the knoxraid ro
(put youtube. c o m here) /watch?v=8HDHt4xSnQY
according to the tutorial i had to install the rom over the stock rom file
so i copied the stock rom to rom slot 1
this is where i messed up, i installed the knoxraid rom over the stock rom without wiping/data factory reset first. But it gets worse, i realized i forgot to wipe the data from safestrap so before the install was even halfway completed, i pulled the battery out.
now whenever i turn it on it will go straight to recovery mode
it wont even turn off. i have to pull the battery out.
i can get to download mode and recovery mode but thats it.
im not sure about the build number because it wont boot up
all i can tell you is it is a at&t note 3 running 4.3 jellybean
please help if you can
btw: my computer wont recognize the phone because it says the PHONE does not have the correct drivers installed
however odin still recognizes it with the blue box with 0:[COM6] if that helps
so yeah please help me the phone is fairly new and i dont want to waste $600

sorry, next time ill post in the right forum
thanks for the link, however this appears to be for the N900AUCUCNC2 variant, which i believe is KitKat (sry if im wrong) i need files for 4.3 jellybean firmware. (i never updated)
thanks in advance
Whats up guys.
Got fed up with the kit kat and 4.4 new sd card permissions thing.
So im rooted and still stock, used triangle away and knox is clean. No count.
Now from my understanding as long as your stock and dont have a custom recovery you can use it to reset counter..
Can i flash roms and custom recovery after making a complete back up with titanium (stock) and when needed go back to stock and reset again? I remember before i upgraded i had to use locked roms to not set knox off. Is this still the same?
Model is sphl720 sprint S4
Thanx in advance .
Dear tweakers of XDA,
I've got a problem with my note 3. After i'd seen the thread for the Note 4 styled S5 Based ROM. I decided i wanted to give Rooting and flashing custom roms a try ( Havn't done it since my S2).
All went well and dandy, i rooted with CF Autoroot knowing my knox counter would trip to 0x1. I've installed CWM Recovery, downloaded the rom and installed it through the CWM Recovery. After install i saw that my wifi didnt work and my 3G Data didnt work which was strange because the regular calling functioned ? Also i installed AEL's newest kernel (because the thread says it wasnt included i had to flash it myself )
After not being able to fix this i'd decided to download ODIN and the correct firmware for my phone, Tmobile Netherlands N9005 TNL version 4.4.2
I flashed it back using ODIN and to my surprise the phone was extremely slow. Reacting really late 5-10-15 seconds later to the sleep/wake button. The lockscreen would also hang for about 30 seconds and the IMEI is unknown. Whenever i open the Phone app it gets stuck. Network doesn't work at all ofcourse because of the IMEI. I do have a backup of my EFS and i'm not too scared of anything. I just really want my note back the way it was
Could you kind people help me ?
if you have a efs back up, so restore it with the original firmware
I used to face the same problem, but i was not as lucky as you - i had no efs back up, and i have to use sptbox - e.g. my original Imei has gone :3
btw, did you face any sensors issues?
There is a efs recovery script in note 3 Android dev thread. Gold luck!

Hello XDA community
Iam a longtime lurker here what a great community with a wealth of information.
I have a a grasp of the basic rooting and flashing custom roms/kernels over the past few years on my old galaxy s3.
My partner had an OTA update for her gt9505 galaxy s4 today whicg seemed to hang while updating, unfortunately she pulled the battery mid update
The phone can enter download odin mode but i cant get it to open the recovery. I have flashed (using odin) a few different compatible roms they finish installing via odin but when the phone restarts it just turns off it will not go past the galaxy white and black screen. It will turn off again.
It has never been rooted, i spent many hours trying to get to the OS but it fails when restarting. I decided to flash CF-Auto root hoping to get access to recovery. Again it successfully installs cf auto root and restarts and then turns off.
It seems everything i flash never ever saves to memory.
What else can i try please? iam happy installing a custom rom but i cant get it working. iam afraid its bricked for good without expensive repairs.
thanks
lol i managed to get it working.
It was a combination of dead battery and multiple problem cables not charging the phone.
