OK...I soft bricked my Note 3. Here are the specifics.
Verizon Note 3 Retail
4.4.2 OTA firmware
Had SafeStrap installed
Had GeoHot rooted
I started out wanting to throw a custom ROM on my phone through SafeStrap. I couldnt get the Eclipse ROM to load into SafeStraps ROM slots. After much failure and the ROM not loading I had wiped EVERYTHING. Not a problem as I figured I would start over. Now my Note 3 seems to be bootlooping in the Samsung logo. My question is this.
How do I get out of this softbrick?
And how do I finally get this eclipse ROM to be my daily driver? Had lots of fun with my old Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but this is giving me some issues.

Hello everyone,
i am fairly new to the world of rooting and recently encountered a problem while flashing a rom
i have the at&t samsung galaxy note 3 N-900A running 4.3 jellybean (2 year contract expired and i got and used the unlock code)
i rooted the phone using the kingo root app, because i could not update the phone (I recently moved out of the USA so i cant connect to an at&t server to update)
i installed safestrap recovery 3.71 and it was running fine
i found a tutorial from galaxy note 3 root for the knoxraid ro
(put youtube. c o m here) /watch?v=8HDHt4xSnQY
according to the tutorial i had to install the rom over the stock rom file
so i copied the stock rom to rom slot 1
this is where i messed up, i installed the knoxraid rom over the stock rom without wiping/data factory reset first. But it gets worse, i realized i forgot to wipe the data from safestrap so before the install was even halfway completed, i pulled the battery out.
now whenever i turn it on it will go straight to recovery mode
it wont even turn off. i have to pull the battery out.
i can get to download mode and recovery mode but thats it.
im not sure about the build number because it wont boot up
all i can tell you is it is a at&t note 3 running 4.3 jellybean
please help if you can
btw: my computer wont recognize the phone because it says the PHONE does not have the correct drivers installed
however odin still recognizes it with the blue box with 0:[COM6] if that helps
so yeah please help me the phone is fairly new and i dont want to waste $600

Its been a few months since Ive bothered trying to figure out how to fix my Galaxy Tab 4, SM-T230NU, but Im finally getting around to fixing it. It sat in my closet for a few months simply because I did not have the time to fix it. It's soft bricked (loads the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 bootscreen, but stays stuck on the single Samsung logo). Its not hard bricked as power turns on, but it is soft-bricked. Will running NE2 I found in the firmware section fix the soft-brick? I just downloaded odin 3.09, and right now NE2 is downloading through Mega.nz......any help would be appreciated....

Flash the right firmware for your device and see if it boots. If it doesn't boot within 20minutes after flashing, simply reboot into recovery and factory reset.

When I rooted the device, gaining root on the 230NU was abit of work, so I had to go through a lot of in and out holes just to root the sucker, and then a week or two later there are many different ROMs available for the 230NU...I'm shocked that someone finally found a workaround for the marvel processor in the 230NU because the 8 I believe has a snapdragon and/or euronoyx (however you spell it)

Hello XDA community
Iam a longtime lurker here what a great community with a wealth of information.
I have a a grasp of the basic rooting and flashing custom roms/kernels over the past few years on my old galaxy s3.
My partner had an OTA update for her gt9505 galaxy s4 today whicg seemed to hang while updating, unfortunately she pulled the battery mid update
The phone can enter download odin mode but i cant get it to open the recovery. I have flashed (using odin) a few different compatible roms they finish installing via odin but when the phone restarts it just turns off it will not go past the galaxy white and black screen. It will turn off again.
It has never been rooted, i spent many hours trying to get to the OS but it fails when restarting. I decided to flash CF-Auto root hoping to get access to recovery. Again it successfully installs cf auto root and restarts and then turns off.
It seems everything i flash never ever saves to memory.
What else can i try please? iam happy installing a custom rom but i cant get it working. iam afraid its bricked for good without expensive repairs.
thanks
lol i managed to get it working.
It was a combination of dead battery and multiple problem cables not charging the phone.
Hi!
I'm not really new to this, but still. I have SGH-i337 At&t. Galaxy S4.
I was using Imperium rom for like a 1.5 years. Couple of days ago, I decided to go on Lollipop 5.0.1
Downloaded Albe95 S6 port for S4 v 2-0. Did everything by rules, don't really remember what I was doing, but got the firmware installed normally. I was using my phone for couple of days.
I have a second S4 AT&T. I was doing an unlock to that one. Accidentally I have switched them and installed OC3 or NJ4 stock Kernel (don't remember) to the one I was talking about before, that had Albe95 S6 Lollipop 5.0.1 port ---> then my phone soft bricked.
Got scared a little, but figured things out and used in one thread soft bricked I337MK2_Combined_Odin_Tar to resolve soft brick.
Eventually I came with i337 mk2 (STOCK) v. 4.3.
Afterwards, I'm wanting 5.0.1 lollipop anyway. I want to return it. So I have somehow installed and got to i337 UCUFNB1.
From here I can't do anything. My root is ON. used TowelRoot v3. SafeStrap not working only two buttons are on. Install and Uninstall. Cant load to Recovery. Cant odin flash to MK2 again. "FAIL" comes up. cant do anything. need help. I want Lollipop 5.0.
When I try to flash through ODIN. Nothing except ucunfb1 firmware flashes. Only that one.
I've had that problem with Odin. Try going to stock recovery and wiping cache, you may have to do a factory reset. You may have to install busy box and SuperSU, then try to install safestrap.
Hello all,
I recently discovered that my S5 was only running KitKat despite Marshmallow having been released for it. I checked for OTA updates and it found nothing, so I decided to flash a custom 6.0 ROM onto it (and for some reason I ended up deciding not to make a backup of the phone beforehand, the ultimate mistake).
The problem became that it didn't recognize Tracfone for my service provider and wouldn't connect to the mobile network. I then downgraded it to a 5.0 ROM, and it no longer even recognized the SIM card, saying there was none.
So I tried to flash the original stock ROM a few times, but every time either got errors from ODIN, the phone itself, or the TWRP bootloader.
Long story short, I seem to have screwed up multiple times trying to install a ROM to get around KitKat and now my phone appears to be softbricked. I can get into the TWRP menu and the "download" mode, but when trying to start the phone, it sits on the "Samsung Galaxy S5" screen with the "Set Warrenty Bit : kernel" text at the top left.
I'm just wondering if there's a way to fix it at this point, or if I've completely trashed the phone.
If anybody has suggestions or experience with this, all help is welcome!
Thanks!

Are you sure you have the stock firmware for the 902l and not the 903vl? The reason you didn't get the update for 6.0 is you have the 902l model. If you had the 903vl model you'd have 6.0. Straight talk never released it for the 902l model. No idea why being both models are very similar. Im not sure but if you make it back to stock on kitkat. I think you can use safestrap from the Verizon s5 to use some custom roms that run kitkat. If your bootloader is in fact unlocked and you can install a custom recovery other then safestrap. I believe you can install pretty much anything but I'm pretty sure straight talk ships the phones with the Toshiba chip so the bootloader isn't unlockable
