Hey everyone,
Whats up!!
I am abhishek and i am here with a tutorial on rooting and unrooting our awesome phone BLU Vivo Air...
This tutorial is very simple..just follow the steps and u should be good.
Download the application.
Most important,Download the adb drivers for your phone to make sure your device is recognised by the pc.
Enable usb debugging in your device-->Go to about phone,press multiple times on build number,then you will get the developer options in the settings,go there and enable usb debugging
Unzip the rar file and RUN IT AS ADMINISTRATOR.
Connect your phone to pc.
Click next on the tool and then press root option.
It will take 1-2 min & will then show your phone as rooted..
So happy rooting..and do appreciate me by pressing that thanks button.

I don't know why this is in the BLU section but I believe he is referring to a Sony Xperia C phone so this is NOT for the BLU Vivo Air... I would try Kingroot and see if that works but I don't have mine yet so I cannot check but I will report back.

I tried all known root methods so far without success:
- KingRoot
- Kingo Root
- Framaroot
- RootGenius
- SRSRoot
PS: I bought the Fly Tornado Slim (Russian version) and have the Kazam Tornado 348 (UK version) of the firmware running on it, so there may be minor differences to the Blu Vivo Air.

Crap! Well, sounds to me like you tried about everything so we may have to wait and from what I have read Mediatek does not like to release source code so who knows about root for this... I typically can't live without root on my phones but this purchase was just a random purchase cause I wanted to see the phone and use a BLU device. I get mine this coming Tuesday so I will still try some things and see if I can come up w anything. Thanks for the feedback though!

Have you been successful in your root attempts? If not, I will be contacting a few devs to see if we can work on something. Also, I would love to try to bring over some roms.
I'll be receiving my Vivo Air in the next 7 days max.

Not yet. I have a few things to give a shot tonight. My Dev pc is going home. I cracked the screen on it and it's a all in one. So it needs to be replaced. I have another little box that I'm going to try to get this sucka rooted. Once I get it back though, if we have a root method, we are going to unlock the potential of this phone.
Can you attempt mediatek tools yourself?

Gotcha gotcha. I'm going to attempt mediatek root. PdaNet drivers should be a generic driver that should, theoretically, should allow ADB, if there's isn't a UPnP driver for the device. I'll find this all out in a few hours.

After doing some reading the Vivo Air comes with a MediaTek 6592 chip set.
When checking out the previous link I provided for the MediaTek root tool, I noticed it was confirmed for our chip set.
"This tool supports major MTK chipsets such as MT6592..."
As I keep saying, I'm going to give it a shot as soon as I am home tonight. I'm out at a hookah lounge. But the moment I get home, I'm going to crack into it.
I'll post my results.

Hi, you can try flash CWM(flashtool) +ROOT(CTR Recovery), its help for Kazam roms, these roms also have root problems.

hi all! my w8 is repaired and i will be able to use it tonight ...so i am all pumped up for it! but just wondering what can i do with a rooted w8?
the thing i know how to do is ...
-xrecovery
-install roms
-use apk files ...no more ...and i do wish to do more! ( not planning for unlock bootlaoder ..it bricked my phone the last time )
i heard of JiT and something called cypress ...is it available for my w8? thanks ya!

pumped up? haha... glad dat u got back ur phone,i dont think u'd mess arnd wiff bootloader again haha...
I like that it has a usb tethering now...my pc is in other room and net cable is not so long so i just connect my x8 and it shares wifi to pc ;D

That app needs root permissions, such as other apps..
Other things you can do with root is OC/UV, adding tweaks to your phone, etc..
kays! am using gingercruzt now...i think imma install zune player next !
You can use Chainfire 3D, it´s an app that´s available for free in the Market, it lets you play games on the X8 that aren´t made to be used on it.

Howtomen, care to walk me through it? I know my way around adb enough to be able to follow directions =p
Edit: Doing a /system pull as we speak, says it's "skipping special file xxx". Looks like the juicy stuff is being skipped, like the modem.
Edit 2: I'm going to redo the system dump after I do a factory reset, to make sure my info is secure. I'll post it up somewhere and link it here.

No this is not the kernel source, that is posted in another thread, I am working on a kernel with OC/UV now, I should have my device on Monday.
I posted up the system dump in its own thread, hopefully it gets a little more visibility that way. Anything else people may need from me? Like I said, I have the time to do whatever needs to get done.

how did your rooting go? did you use odin ? did you install any roms? themes?

Well after spending a lot of time on this phone I managed to get full root access
Instructions :
Download Kingo (Search good due I can't post any link.)
Install and run kingo.
Now just connect your phone in debugging mode at your pc.(How to find debug more? Look the pictures below!)
Press "ROOT" on the Kingo program and let it until it says "Root was successfully"
After that just see a small tune you can do to your mediatek processor!
You're done,now your have full root access!! Have fun!!
(AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BREAK DOWN YOUR PHONE!MAKE IT WITH YOUR OWN RISK!!)

Thank you! I did it, and works! Now it writes programs to the sd card! Its fantastic! Now we are waiting for a new rom! :angel:
Don't worry! I suggest a light 4.4.4 neither the Lolipop 5.X.X because it has a lot of bugs!!

I created a poll for the Xperia E4 users or now called "admins" choose what ROM they want!

You have just Xpeira E4 Dual thats why it has the B letter!

Subscribing as really hoping for something also. A few have started to make one but never finished or really even got going, seems cant get all the correct img's extracted or source code needed. Switched from the lg power x to this phone bc power x couldn't be rooted. Now seems cant get custom rom for this! I would help if i knew anything about making ROMs. I can probably be a guinea pig if needed, have a few back up phones can usenif necessary....

If you find a ROM that's similar to your phone like similar CPU you could download it download Java Android kitchen and that you need to get the system files from your phone so you can put it in that ROM so then you can Port it to your phone
I was going to do that for my phone but I get caught up playing PC and by the time I have my PC ready for it it was already ROM out for mine
Also if u need help porting there a thread here for that
