i've searched the forums about any type of noise cancellation app for the HD2 and really can't find anything. i know some phones have the noise cancellation mic and this one doesnt. but is there any app that anyone knows of that will help with background noise cancellation for this phone during calls?
i try to use some of the android voice features like voice texting and whatnot while i drive, but because of background noise it never hears me correctly. any help appreciated. thanks.
p.s. and no i don't try to use it while driving with the windows rolled down and radio blaring lol.
Noise cancellation
Since the HD2 doesn't have dual microphones I'd recommend you invest in a good Bluetooth headset like a Jawbone or BlueAnt....
Hi, all-
I'm trying to use my Motorola H720 mono bluetooth earpiece with my new Nexus 7. Specifically, I want to use it to handle all "phone-like" communications, such as G+ hangouts, Skype calls and GTalk.
The H720 pairs with the Nexus 7, which reports it's connected to "Phone Audio"... though the N7 doesn't actually have a phone function. As a result, all my audio for hangouts and Skype calls still gets routed to/from the N7's built-in mic and speaker.
Is there a way to make the H720 available system-wide on the N7, or at least use it in the apps I mentioned?
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed!

I have a similar need to use bluetooth mic with Skype. I can hear the audio through my Jabra BT8040 but Skype still uses the built in mic on the Nexus 7 and doesn't seem to offer an option to select a different mic.
So you're having only slightly more luck than I am. With Skype, when I switch it to bluetooth (vs. internal mic/speaker), it switches back, as if to say there's no usable bluetooth device available, even though mine is paired and connected to "phone audio".
So maybe our earpieces are only designed to work on "phone audio", and not other media... and on my phone (a Motorola Droid 2), the Skype app is able to use such a device, but on the Nexus 7 it can't. I've seen apps in the Play store that supposedly let you use mono Bluetooth earpieces like ours for any kind of audio media, which should fix this problem, if they work... which is a big "if".
In any case, I'm off to search for a bluetooth device that *will* work in this capacity on a Nexus 7. I didn't think it would be such a rare use case... bluetooth earpiece for Skype and other audio/video chats. Who knew?
If anybody can relay any experience with a particular earpiece that works for this, I'd be very grateful!
Thanks,

Further research...
I just found a post in Google's "google-plus-discuss" forum, which this forum is preventing me from linking to until I hit post #10... it seems G+ isn't working with bluetooth devices at all (or at least it wasn't at the time of the above forum discussion). Apparently, bluetooth earpieces are working with GTalk, but I haven't been able to try that yet.
On a Nexus 7, having no bluetooth ability in G+ hangouts is a problem, because the built-in speaker is too quiet for me to hear the voices of people I connect with. Such is the nature of chat, with heads moving in and out of the pickup range of the mics. If the Nexus 7's built-in speaker were maybe 6dB louder, I'd stand a chance of hearing people, and wouldn't need a bluetooth earpiece to work... but as it is, it's too quiet.
Hi All,
At least for me, none of the voice/video chat applications work without voice drop if headphones are not used. I just can't use the built-in mic and speakers of the tablet for audio/video chat as otherwise the incorrect noise cancellation algorithm just cuts the voice of N10 user at random but frequent intervals so as to make the conversation quite useless and irritating for the person at other end.
This behaviour is same for all applications - viz. Google Talk, Google Hangouts, Skype and even Tango. When contacted Google customer care for getting some guidance on this issue, it was advised to return the device and get a replacement.
Is anyone else facing this issue?
Please reply in either cases..
I've not yet tried it but in tempted to know how it works, perhaps it's designed to use with headphones alongside the built in mic, rather than with the speakers.

My car pairs to my phone without any issue, but none of the voice apps I've tried (Google Now, S-Voice, AVX) can hear me when I attempt to talk with them. The closest I've gotten is it hearing me but playing my voice as a delayed echo over the speakers so anything longer than 3 words and the speakers drowns out what I'm asking.
Using BT Mono I can use the voice apps the way I should be able to, but it needs to be connected before turning on. I came up with a really hokey workaround using Tasker and BT Mono with screen gestures, but it's inelegant and not %100 reliable.
I've looked into this and still haven't found an answer, is there a way to force the Note II (ATT version) to always use Mono over Bluetooth without passing voice back to he speaker while I'm talking?
This occurred with stock kernel and I've just switched to the Perseus Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983658 (Thank you AndreiLux!). on a rooted phone. If anyone has a better way of handling this or knows why the Note II is wonky with several of the other Bluetooth apps (with the echo issue) please tell me?
When i connect my i9195 into my car, i can hear the person that dials me, but unfortunetly that person hears himself as well. That must be because of the car speakers, but is there a way to reduce that echo voice like in every navi cars, or voiip software?
update:
another interesting thing... I have tested the same situation with diffrent phone - Samsung Galaxy S3 with original firmware, and voice echo cancelling works just great. So the solution may be to abandon cm10 and install original firmware, but i really love cm, any solutions?
