Hi guys,
Not sure of this wss covered already but i was unable to locate anything that helps
I currently have a Galaxy Note 3 n9005 international LTE version with stock kitkat installed 4.4.2. The phone is rooted which i did upon receiving it and have super user 2.0 installed. i have confirmed root with titanium back.
Now i wanted to try a custom rom and tried to install the new phillz touch recovery but observed that it kept failing in odin (tried several times) i even tried to install a custom recovery via ROM Manager which it said the update was complete but when ever i boot into recovery mode i keep get the stock android recovery.
i have search and cannot find anything that help so here i am.
My Android version N9005XXUENC2 AND Kernel version is 3.4.0-636608 dpi @SWDD5619 #1
From my understanding once u root it should have install a custom recovery. When i got the phone it came with Jelly bean 4.3 and i rooted then updated to kitkat, could this be the issue. Does that mean i have root again?
Any assistance given is greatly appreciated.
Install CWM 6.0.4.7 by Chinglu via pc odn (tar)
Then if you wantvto change to Philz, install Ohilz (zip) through custom recovery

hello developers, I just bought s4 from an online store and it comes prerooted, I have checked and try to run root apps i.e ad away, titanium backup etc on it and those work just fine, I want to install cwm custom recovery on it and i am confused, which one should i use as i come to know my s4 is surly an AT&T one, Please check the screen-shots for my phone info and suggest me which cwm recovery should i install and how without bricking my phone. As i entered in recovery it says android system recovery 3e KOT49H.I337UCUFNB1, It seems to be I337 s4, Thats my confusion, which recovery should i flash I337 or I9500 one ? Thanks in advance.

you have a true AT&T I337 model that is not a I9500 and is close to the I9505. Tricky point they have done at Samsung!
I have an I337 AT&T fully rooted and I want to flash CWM or TWRP so I can flash a Google Play Edition Rom 5.0. Also I am on 4.4.4 kitkat
Anyone who knows how to do this please help
Check out the guides in general skip the root and go to install recovery. They also have a tarp app with root that can install it ( its not 100% sometimes but works great the other times )
They also have auto root recovery programs.
If your on a newer version you must safestrap there is a whole thread dedicated to it
Hey guys, I've been lurking around threads trying to gather as much information before I root my phone but just in case I brick it I wanted to ask a question.
Basically, I'm on android 5.0.1 (lollipop obviously) however my build number for my phone has been different then the one in the tutorials, I'm just wondering if I flashed files from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/guide-t3018625) onto my phone, would there be any issue? Especially due to SuperSU being an older version as well! Thanks
Details of my phone:
Model - GT-19505
Android Version - 5.0.1
Baseband - I19505XXUHOJ3
Build Number - LRX22C.I19505XXUHOJ3
follow method 2 but instead of using Philz custom or CWM use TWRP, the other recoveries are outdated.
if you want some extra reassurance, after flashing the recovery you can take a backup of your entire phone with it (switch the memory the backup will be on to your SDcard).
then you can flash a later version of superSU like v2.68 or v2.71 via recovery as in method 2 or using odin again you can flash CFautoroot by chainfire
Method 1 also works.
I have Note 4 model N910H firmware 5.1.1 and I rooted it using chainfire method. I checked using root checker and it says my phone was rooted properly. So I install TWRP latest recovery using flashify. The phone rebooted to recovery mode fine but it says that my phone not rooted so I'm confused and I let TWRP rooted it again. After that I reboot to system and I can't enter it instead it was stuck looping samsung and android logo.
So, what can I do? I can enter TWRP recovery and download mode. I know I can flash it to stock 5.1.1 but I dont know what version to use from SamMobile (XID/XSE, I'm from Indonesia) and there's different PDA/CSC version. So if I just pick one of them and flash it to my phone will it be okay? I want to avoid flashing to be honest because the rom size is so big so is there's a way to fix it without flashing?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
