Hey guys. I just bought the sm-n9100 duos and i am having the issue that the sim 2 is losing signal after 5 seconds that phone is turned on and shows no service even if i am in a full coverage area. I understand that this sim works only in 2G. It is weird that sometimes I have signal in some specific places but the majority of time not. Does anybody have the same issue?

Hello all,
I just got my N4 couple of days back. I have this problem where when i connect to a 3g network the signal keeps fluctuating. As in it connects to the network for some 5 seconds i ll have full signal and after a couple of seconds there is no signal it shows emergency calls only. This keeps happening repeatedly. But in the 2g network everything is fine. I figured this is a radio ( i had .48 ) problem and flashed an older radio ( .33 ) still the same. i m looking for a solution 2g network is way too slow. This never happened in my nexus s :/
P.S : i dint have a micro sim, so i got the sim cut into a micro sim, is this the problem do i have to buy a micro sim itself ?

It's goes according to your carrier's cell coverage. If you're in area with low HSPA+ coverage then you will lose it and it will automatically switch to another frequency band. Big building can block cell coverage. Going underground or being in the basement will lower your data coverage. It has nothing to do with your sim card or your baseband.

I never had this problem with my nexus s, is it because nexus s doesnt have HSPA+ ?
Hy friends, I have note 3 n9005. I have isue with network. When I try to choose network mode i have option WCDMA/GMS, just WCDMA and just GSM. No LTE options, but my operetor Telenor Serbia dosnt suport LTE network. No big deal about that.. Problem is when I choose WCDMA/GMS (auto mode) my network is weak. I have some friend and they also have note 3 ,on same network and same isue. They sad me every note 3 have same problem in our town. Problem is in my house, or every place where signal is a little bit weaker I cant sedn message, or cant receive call.. I am not available in that moment. That friend reccomend me to choose just GSM and problem is solved. When I choose GSM mode signal is normal, like on my s2 plus, my old phone, on same network and same number and sim card. But if I choose GSM internet is to slow and I can use just for whats up, to send and recieve text messages. Nothing more.. What you think is this a problem with Operator in our town, Bad signal? Or something other ? On many phones before Note 3 I had not that network isue. Before Note 3 I was galaxy s2 plus, xperia pro, samsung wave. With no isue.. I am on stock 4.2.2 NA6, rooted. Thnx !

Baby 3G signals are always weaker than 2G signals. Everybody has the problem. I am from India and I also face the same issues on my Note 3 SM 900 4.4.2.

Thnx for replay. I know that, but problem is to my note 3 have realy weak signal, and cant receive call, because I am not avelable in that moment, and i try to send text message, but message cant go.. That hapens in my home, in caffe, normal places. On other phone in same places signal is normal(much better). My friend also have same isue on note 3..
I have the S7 Edge from AT&T (SM-G935A) and I get terrible reception at work. I have to turn airplane mode on and off 3-5 times during my lunch break just to send a few texts. I also have an older unlocked Note 5 (SM-N920C) which will struggle a bit but will still send and receive every text after a few seconds (20-30) of spinning its little wheel. So the question is why would an unlocked non carrier specific phone lock onto the AT&T signal better than an AT&T phone? I've been into the AT&T store and nthey seem to have no idea. The S7 Edge works great anywhere that I have a couple bars of LTE but when it's struggling with 1 bar of LTE or just plain 4G it's not so great. Any suggestions?
That type of subtle difference in coverage can be caused by the little differences in design. Phones today mostly use the frame for the antenna, so Samsung has to make adjustments for the edge, and the Note 5 simply has more room for the antenna. I haven't pulled the edge apart, but that's my guess based on years in the industry.
The other possibility is that it's struggling to keep an LTE 'enhanced' connection for HD Voice and video calling, which of course an int'l Note doesn't have. Try turning off enhanced LTE in mobile data settings & see if it makes a difference. Or maybe try switching to the HSPA+ 'wap' apn and maybe if it isn't always looking for LTE it'll hold the connection longer
Motorola phone for u bro they have the best signal of any phone I've ever used. Also some believe the way you hold it matters. And cases may effect signal strength. Some buildings affect signal strength as well maybe try a different location.? The note gets better signal because of the size.

Thanks for the suggestions. I switched to the unlocked S7 Edge (935F) and it works even better than the Note 5 did. It makes no sense at all.

FYI, the code you show is incorrect, it should be *#*#4636#*#*. I get an invalid code error message if I use your code.
I am from India and was using Marshmallow on my Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 LTE model. I was able to get Reliance Jio signal and data connectivity. I upgraded to Nougat (crdroid as well as lineage) but then I could not get the data connectivity though I was getting registered through Jio. I could view the same signal levels in the status but LTE or up/down arrow stating the data connectivity not showing. And since Jio works on VOLTE, I am not able to use this at all because of no data connectivity. I am sure there must be some settings if not BUG in the nougat version for I9505 phone. Please help!!!
Have you considered checking the APN?
I have Samsung s4(gt i9505) LTE variant of s4 and is using in India with more than 4 years without any issue on one of the LTE(4G) network(Idea /airtel/vodafone) and it worked.
Now i started using JIO SIM which is 4G network for both data and voice ,with this SIM , i can see that my SAMSUNG S4 is successfully register with JIO network. and able to see signal bars . however when i try to enable Mobile Data. it did not work nor calls are coming and vice versa.
Good Evening
I just recently acquired a Korean Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from a Mobile Flea Market in the Philippines
When I tried to put a SIM Card (Sun Cellular) in the phone, I notice that if you turn on the phone, there is no signal in the network bars when I am inside my house so I went outside and the phone already acquired only a few bars of signal. Sometimes when it goes up to 3 bars it just go down and fluctuates.
I tried to put the SIM Card to another phone (Samsung Galaxy Grand Max - Also Korean) and what I am amazed is it manage to capture the full bars of the network itself and much better if you go outside .
Is there something i need to adjust to my Korean Note 4 but why my Korean Galaxy Grand Max has already acquired the full strength of the network? Is there a problem with the phone or do I need to go to a technician to fix the signal?
Will upgrading my firmware from S910S-S910C might repair the problem in the signal?
Thanks
