I just bought the tablet yesterday and while trying to install apps from the market tht I've purchased i wasn't able to locate them.
I went to the market homepage and looked up the app ony to see a message stating "this item is not compatible with your device"
This has happened with a few games including nfs shift.
Any idea whats causing this? I saw in another thread that the game does indeed work on the tablet.
Thanks.
Yeah, I found this rather odd too. I think part of it is due to Electronic Arts themselves. I have both NFS and Bejeweled on my phone and neither can be pushed from the market to my TF. After reading reviews for both games, I just get the general vibe as being that EA is the problem.
It least i'm not the only one...
The weird thing is this thread "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032381" says that it is a compatible game... is anyone else having issues?
I have 7 android devices all living here with me in the same house. A related problem is that occasionally it'll say "This app not permitted in your country" for one device but not the rest of them.
I had a similar issue with a few apps. I did a titanuim backup from my Epic and restored on the TF, not all of them worked, but got a few that the market would not show.
Same issue with various applications.
Could you find a solution for this?
I found that after I bought Puzzle Quest 2 and used it for a few weeks, one of the more recent updates removed the TF101 from the list of officially supported systems on google market.
I've just been using Titanium Backup to re-install it if I need it. But luckily I had it backed up before that occured. And since Titanium Backup put the APK on my flash card, I was able to easily send it around to a few friends who ended up in a similar situation.
I have no idea if the newer version actually is broken on the TF, or if they just removed it because they didn't want to test it, or what...
Just rooted my R800x phone (HUGE thanks to those who developed the method to root the r800x, you guys kick so much ayse!) and I'm looking for some awesome things to do now that I'm rooted. Already have Barnacle Wifi tether, along with Sixaxis controller (I know we don't need it on an XPlay, but it's still totally awesome to have), and removed some Verizon bloatware BS.
Please give some suggestions, it will be much appreciated! I'm sure there have been more people like me who recently rooted that aren't up to date on this whole rooting thing.
My favourites are:
Juice Defender - Save battery
ASTRO File Manager - Access OS files and install 3rd party .apk's
AdAway - Remove ads from free apps
Chainfire3D - Install drivers for other devices
Quick Boot - Gives you a reboot function and easy access to your bootloader
MarketEnabler - Lets you change your region so you can download apps not normally available where you are
SlideME - Third party marketplace with access to apps disallowed by Google
And of course a ridiculous number of emulators.
Quick and easy access to the shell with root is great.
Modification/replacement/addition to the system to utilize more features than stock.
Titanium Backup -backup/uninstall/freeze any apk on the system

Have Astro and the ever amazing emulators, but everything else you mentioned sounds pretty sweet.

Not quite sure what the first two mean, but TB is excellent!
I agree with much of what others have said, particularly Titanium Backup (the pro version is definitely worth it).
I would add the following:
LBE Privacy Guide - block any application from accessing your contacts, sending SMS, etc. After installing, I was amazed how many apps were accessing things in the background.
Wireless tether - tether with bluetooth rather than Wifi (much more battery efficient)
Make the home button stop activating the screen (this has saved me a lot of battery life)
The only reason I didn't mention Ti Backup is because I assumed it was a given that it's the greatest app ever. Worth every penny for the paid version.
Yeah, I have the Pro version & I won't stop using ever.
I also have the donate version of the ROM Manager for Clockwork Mod but I can't use it with the R800x until a method to unlock the bootloader is unvailable. It was very useful when I had a Samsung Fascinate.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, keep em coming if you have more! I got a few of them and they're really cool so far! Anyone know if the touchpads can be used in any ps1 emulators? I have the latest FPse, but it doesn't seem to let me use the analog pads...someone needs to fix this and fast!

Yeah just use the psxperia method, it basically injecting you custom games into sonys emulator (which has touchpad support). I made a video tutorial here if you wanna know how to do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaZuKZQoBwA
I dont think it work on 2.3.4 though, thats why im not updating yet.
Have most everything that has been posted. link2sd is one I use quite a bit also. R800x rooted.
Yeh agree, LBE is really good. Surprising how many apps are interested in your current location!

I'll check it out, thanks! Say I get it working, do you know if I can get the sixaxis controller to work and have the analog sticks act in place of the touch pads?
So, i tried to get this work during sunday and monday with no succes.
I have ripped some of my own games (Tombi 2 and crash bandicoot 3 PAL releases) via program Imgburn which i found from neoseeker forums after some googling.
I couldnt do ISO files so Imgburn did BIN files for me, i read that BIN files should work with PSXperiA, yesterday the author of the tutorial video, and possibly a member of XDA, confirmed that BINs should work by replying my utube comment. After this i updated my play to 2.3.4 and PSXperia to beta 2
I retrieved proper files (com.playsration something from phone memory and ZPAK from the memorycard i had crash 1)
After this i copy both files into "important 1" and "important 2" folders under (harddrive 2)/D:/PSX/
Extract folders is being created in same folder named as "data" after this i go to convert and fill the fields, mark the "analog box" and set paths (extracted content, game BIN and output)
When PSXperia is ready i take the game file and put it into my phone SD card to right directory (i dont excatly remember the path, its either way same path as described in the tutorial video i watched)
I unplug my play and check all the menus and places only to discover that games arent showing up anywhere
I think the problem could be either A ) minor detail i didnt notice or B ) something went wrong while ripping the game.
I believe both have some share in my problem, i tried original BIN files on PSX4droid (i had SPC10001 or something ~~ bios) but with all sort of tricking i didnt get any reaction (tried crash 3)
Soooo, what went wrong ? Can you help me ?
I did everything in that specific order so if something is missing, please do tell me
PS: i didnt mark box "yes this is a question" on these forums since this is call for help and not one question, i think i shouldng mark it ?
You should have watched all of the tutorial, You missed the part where you actually install the game. Watch my video again and see the part where I use a file manager to install the apk.

Aaaahh holy.....
I did see that part but because i was watching the video with my play i couldnt see file names and i think i just didnt hear that part correctly.
Though my excuse for sucha noob mistake must be that my PC read APK file as "Gamespy Arcade Custom Service" so all i could think was "WTH does this file do here ?"
Well, now i have instaled "Tombi 2" but its shutting down by itself (black screen and extremely quiet sound "sssshhhhhhh" from the speakers which stops after screen goes away)
But i think this problem is more common and can be found from "PSXperia beta 2.0" thread so i think i take a look at it
I will bump this thread if i need more help.
BTW, i cant get even PSX4droid to work, black screen and freeze, there seems to,be no topics solving or even containing the problem in the interwebz (tried PAL BIOS too but without luck)
It seems emulation god's are not on my side today

The problem might be that im using EU APK and ZPAK of crash bandicoot with Tombi 2
(i checked from github compatibility list and there was no sing about PAL release working, only Usa)
Tombi 2 is EU/PAL release while you are using USA version with possibly USA APK and ZPAK.
I try USA release of Tomba 2 with my current APK and Zpak, i will report in shortly
EDIT: didnt work, same deal as with PAL, i think next step is to get Usa Crash bandicoot APK and ZPAK and try with those, i think APK was in that PSXperi thread somewhere.
Small update.
Tombi 2 PAL works perfectly with US apk and ZPAK, minor graphical glitches and bugs (some edges of models look blue and few chains in second world are "hot" while they shouldnt be, this doesnt alter gameplay though.)
I have shared thanks for you two
Tombi 2 is by far, my favourite PSX tittle with countless hours of gameplay, im looking foward in trying Tombi 1 that i never had a chance to play and to play extra missions that are being unlocked in Tomba 2.
I wanted to try Zero Divided 2 but i had an error while ripping, today i will proceed trying out Croc 2, Crash Bash... Infact, all of my PSX PAL tittles.
crash 3 didnt work, ill try US release.
One last question, could converted game and the APK for for other xperia 2011 range devices, Arc is PS certified so i dont see why not on it, but im more thinkig about NEO.
My sister would like to play some PS classics too and the only PSX4droid version i could get working, performed horribly.
I know its kinda illegal, spreading software that is not desinged for centrain phone on purpose that is.
I know I'm being a little bit specific for these two games, but the whole choice between buying my A500 (which rocks just fine btw), or an Ipad, was the ability to play these games, as up until now, they were only on the Itunes market, as well as google play, but in japanese version. They were finally brough to the US google play a short time ago, and they're STILL not compatible with my Iconia. I don't get it, especially with a Tegra 2, why shouldn't these games be playable? Does anyone happen to know what would cause certain games not to be playable, because they are other korean HD games that I would like to play as well, but they always crash when loading. Is there a way around this issue? Thanks.

This is going to depend on if you are rooted? If you are, you can do this,
a. Open your "build.prop" file in /system and modify the line "ro.product.model=" to a different model, like instead of Acer-A500, change it to A500
b. Save and re-boot
c. Go to settings/apps and clear the cache on your Play store app.
Go to play store app and see if you can download it again.
or
You can download the Game.apk to a device that is compatible, and copy the apk to your device and install it through a file manager.
Note: in Settings/Apps or Settings/Security, you have to select "unknown sources". This allows you to install apps not downloaded via Play Store.
or
You can try this app as your country may be restricted from certain Play Store apps;
http://www.androidet.net/2012/04/re...trictions-with-google-play-store-app-v3-5-16/
I've checked the games you mentioned. Due to the fact I have installed several different Roms on my 501, most of them are "compatible", although it seems the original Stock systems were not.
But there is no promise these games will run correctly using the above methods.

Moscow, you are the MAN! I FINALLY got both of them to work correctly. Had to root my tablet, install root manager, lucky patcher, etc. but in the end, everything works fine. I did end up having to install them both from a secondary file download, not through Google Play, but so what? Thanks for all your helpful information!

No Problem Mate
Remember, I flash a lot of experimental roms, so according to Google Play, I have about 10 different devices. And the only 2 that said was not compatible, was Asus Transformer and my Stock A501. All the other 501's were ok. Probably I had 10 different buildprops :laugh::laugh:
After playing around with AR for all trying to get AR+ on Pokemon go and eventually giving up I'm curious on what this app is on my phone? Couldn't find a answer from a quick Google so I guess here is the next best thing.
Kinda of scared to give it root permissions as it's name doesn't sound familiar to any app I have installed. Any advice?
It's a system app that is present on many Android devices, including our Axon 7. You will find it in pretty much any ROM you flash, stock or custom. I don't know what it is or what it does, but it's not dangerous, don't mess with it. It shouldn't be asking for root permissions, that does sound a bit fishy. You may have recently installed an app that is masquerading under this name and now wants root access. Don't grant it. I would look more deeply into what you've installed to see if any of it might be malicious.

I agree with the user above. Its weird that it even has the possibility to be granted root permission. If its a system process, it should already have all the necessary permissions it needs.
Oh btw. I think for AR+ in pogo you need ARCore by google. Our device is not officially supported yet. But since there is cam2 api in oreo, that might change in the future and google could very well add it to the list of supported devices.

look. Download MagiskHide props config module, change the fingerprint to Pixel 2 XL, then download ARCore from apkmirror. It'll work, I just don't know if it works with pokemon go.
I used Measure and Lens (don't know if lens needs it tho)

Thanks man, at first safety net was being hit but a quick reboot later and now everything is working fine. I'm going to do more research into what this is. As I'm sure I haven't downloaded any suspicious apps.

Ok so after some testing it seems like AR Core 1.5 works but is unstable asf, and ARcore 1.4(latest) does not work as the app must be using 1.5 only, it comes up with the "This device is not supported" but seeing that safety is working fine, i assume its looking at the ARCore and seeing its not running on a "supported device" although it does work on 1.5 (sometimes, if im not taken straight to "Not Supported"). Not too sure about this magisk module tho as some reboots come up with a negative safety net
Found on internets:
"The CTS (Compatibility Test Suite) shim is a package that resides on a device's /system partition in order to verify certain upgrade scenarios. This is intended to facilitate the compatibility test that vendors run to ensure their hardware will be compatible with the Android OS. "
@evilKabab: if what you're saying is true, then I'm considering deleting this app from my phone. I generally don't use GApps, and don't care about SafetyNet. Thanks for the info.
