Wassup XDA!
I'm trying to install the CM12 Unofficial Rom. I've installed roms before so not a complete noob, but for some
reason I can't get it to work.
I am running cyanogenmod 4.4.4.
To be more precise: Cyanogenmod version: 11-20140918-UNOFFICIAL-ks01lte
Kernel version: 3.4.0-gefcd118
[email protected] #1
Philz touch recovery.
So, from my experience with previous mobile phones, I should be able to just throw the newest cm version on my internel/external storage (I chose external) and install the newest cyanogenmod. That doesn't work. It hangs on the samsung logo.
Also, a guy on this forum recommended me to use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57475522&postcount=278
for a really really clean install. But when I flash the file that you can download there the same thing happens.
I've tried loads of different ways to fix this problem, but the thing is: I don't understand.
And the forum for this samsung is very unclear aswell. I don't wanna hate on it, but why are there 4 development
forums but only one general discussion forum? And when I look there, there are like no threads about the I9506 S4 version.
So This thread is probably in the wrong location, but can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?
I do the clear cache stuff, factory reset in the recovery before I install the rom. Usb debugging is enabled.
PLEASE HELP

first of all. This is wrong section.
second usb debug you dont need it
then you wiped data and factory reset? Did you format system?
Did you download right file for your phone?
Do you have GT-I9506 version or?

Thanks for the reply.
Where should I post it then?
I did not format system.
I got the file from this exact subforum, and I wouldn't post this post her if I didn't have the GT-I9506. I already
told you I wasn't THAT noobie .

Post in Q&A
You need format system before flash CM. Thats why you cant boot
Isn't that done automaticly when you select factory reset and clean cache? I'll try it tho. In my recovery there is this button when I click on factory reset and clean cache that says 'make ready for new rom' or something. I clicked that. But I'll give your tip a try

- Go to DeHawk's thread, and download the latest original 4.4.2 kernel, recovery, and firmware (~2GB), and flash it in THAT order.
- Root with his AutoRoot.
- Install CWM 6.4.8 (can be found in this forum, just browse)
- Flashed ROOT_E330S_I9506_v2.zip (find it like the one above, maybe not neccessary, but did it to be sure).
- Flashed this ROM and GApps Pico.
The problem was already solved lile the title said. Thx for the reply though because other people can use it as a little tutorial

Hello there,
My new Samsung Galaxy S5 [SM-G900L] just came in.
It wanted to install custom recovery from TWRP so I could make a backup of my Stock Rom and afterwards could install custom Roms, but there doesn't seem to be any support for the G900L.
I'm quite new here, but is it possible someone can help me with this? So that TWRP will aslo provide support to the G900L.
I'm willing to sent al the necessary files. But you'll have to gide me trough it.
Thanks in advance.
Anybody??
Good luck.. i tried looking for anything related to the 900L model but there's barely any support on it.

And because I'm new I can't post anything in the development section T.T
I hope someone picks this up though.
Yup I fell ya
/Bump for support
SM 900L Support
Another one for 900L support. Got the phone rooted no problem but failed to install CWM or TWRP yesterday so no custom recoveries available . Got a boot loop for my efforts. Hope there is enough love out there for someone to tweak some of the packages for these phones.
Cheers.
Successfully installed TWRP and CyanogeMmod recoveries on my SM-G900L
Sorry for the very long delay. I only got this mobile last month. I am able to install TWRP recovery by using TWRP manager after rooting (Although his device is not supported officially, the recovery image for the international version (SM-G900F) works really fine. I also successfully flash CyanogenMod (both View attachment Snapshot_recovery.tar and View attachment Nigthy_recovery.tar) recovery images using odin.

I have tried many times to use TWRP recovery on G900Lmodel but with no success.
I always end up with "COULD NOT DO NORMAL BOOT".
Also I need one help, I was trying to use this Custom ROM "Insanity S7 edge port", I again get the same message " COULD NOT DO NORMAL BOOT".
Someone told me it's the kernel problem and i have to flash stock kernel after flashing ROM zip. But the thing is I don't have the stock kernel.
Please help.

TWRP for kltelget (SM-G900L) is available here. You can also use the TWRP for klte (SM-G900F). The details are available in my xda thread (latest version is not tested). You can boot most Phoenix kernel (I hope Insanity too) based ROMs by either flashing the stock ROM boot.img or a custom boot.img sited in my another xda thread located here (check second post).

Thank you sunil
I tried the recoveries that you are suggesting, both of them, klte and klteskt from the twrp site.
It seems to work on every other device but mine.
Can't figure what I am doing wrong.

yes i will try them, I hope they work on latest MM.
And yes the device is rooted properly with latest CFautoroot for G900L, I even checked it with Root Checker basic.
Anyways, I don't have any special liking for TWRP, I wanted it to flash stock boot.img to make the Insanity ROM work.
I am ok with CWM recovery, but I was told it could not flash .img file and I am not equipped to make my own flashable zip form boot.img.
But now I am planning to use your modded boot.img for Phoneix based MM custom ROMs. I hope that will work.
Btw thank you so much...I checked both of your threads...They are awesome....you seem to be lone warrior for these Korean variants. Not much support elsewhere.
Really appreciate your efforts!!!!
Keep up the good work.

well, you can't simply flash google rom on any other variant of galaxy s4 than GT-I9505
as i know google rom is only support GT-i9505 and GE model of s4 and you can't flash this rom on other variant since it have different chipset
go to option and see your device model
Go to specify android development section to get rom for your device

Yes my device is I9500. I used Philz touch recovery, which I flashed using odin. Once you have the recovery installed, you just copy the zip to the SD card and flash from recovery after doing all the wipes.

Hi,
This is my first time trying to install / flash Cyanogen on my Note 3 SM-n9005.
All I did by now is using Odin for root and firmware updates.
Can someone please tell me if this is correct version for my device?
And how do I flash it ? Does it also done with Odin ? Or is there another process for this ?

Read the basics first .
Can you please give me a reference to the basics ?
If you type your thread name into Google, you'll get plenty of answers. It's best to start there.
This spoon feeding will do you no good.

Aahh.... 1st time flasher ^^ Long time ago I was the same way Anyways, XDA is a reliable source and you should check here first. If someone tells crap ppl tend to correct him very quickly so you cant be that wrong later. Anyways. Check for TWRP Recovery for HLTE and flash it the way it's explained in the thread. Then you are already very close to CM running on your phone. CM source you posted is fine, but you can check on Temasek's UNOFFICIAL builds too, they are very stable. GAPPS I recommend OpenGAPPS. Just check on my sig to see what I am running right now.
I'll check it out.
Thanks
Just download the latest CM ROM (may be CM 12 or 12.1) with your device model and also download the recommended G apps for your phone and then flash those using Twrp.
Note:-It is recommended to wipe your cache/dalvik/data/system before flashing a ROM for clean installation.
