I bought from currys, how do i return?

I bougt a seven from currys uk on 16th july. I have discoverd i have screen lift down the left side. Who do i go o to return it? Or can i even return it at this point?

You bought it offline... but not at a store?

i had a similar problem with a phone i had bought recently from t-mobile.
you can take it back to the store you bought it from, if you have the receipt/bank statement proving purchase, it will be easier, though you dont always have to have this is you paid with a credit card.
just make sure that you return it to stock settings, remove root etc and they should accept it without question, well maybe one... whats wrong with it, they may say that it works fine even with the screen lift, simple say that its a manufacturing fault and you want a replacement.
if you get a particularly miffed "team" member simple ask to speak to their manager, i prefer to do this when its close to closing time as they tend to want you out sharpish.
im not 100% on the law but depending on how long you've had the device and how long it took you to notice the defect you may also want to take it to trading standards, usually advising currys of this if you end up hitting a brick wall says to them that you have at least read up on your consumer rights and arent willing to back down.
the trading standards website has a contact number if you want to talk it over with them
EDIT -> if you bought it "online" and you mean off-the-(internet)line then you might get away with returning it to the store, but your rights are actually different, they would be able to advise you on who to call to get your product returned, i didnt notice your message about buying it offline... and actually find it confusing.

Thanks for the help guys. I will be taking it tomorrow and shall demand a new one. Will put it back to stock/unroot and oem lock. Will also take all the papers that came when i got it delivered and a bank statement.

MOGA controller

so has anyone tried it with the nexus 4 yet? im interested but not sure if it works

I works. But the analog sticks suck and the buttons are hard to press.
I would recommend getting the Gameklip and a PS3 controller.

I'm sure people play games among other things since the phone is capable of doing such things.

This. I like to enjoy everything with my smart phone. that's why I got it in the first place. I find playing games a bit difficult so I'm interested in these kinds of accessories. I know game klip is good but I'm considering the fact of portability.

Just ordered one for 5 bucks. I already have a PS3 controller, but for 5 bucks I'm willing to try this thing out.

I ordered around the same time and no email either. I used my phone to order and had no problems went through the first time I didn't know they were getting bogged down haha

They are aware of the issue but I hope you have your confirmation number, I have a feeling some of us will have to put up a small fight to get our controllers.

I checked my view order history and its on there now. So that was a few hours after I ordered. On twitter they mentioned as long as you have the order number that you go after you ordered they will honor it.
They did kind of a bait and switch but a company that size can't provide free everything. They said it will run till 12AM but "free" supplies ran out before then as they were limited in giving away the free stuff, website bogged down once every android site put it up and got pasted on slick deals. They change it to if you buy the controller ($50) you get free expedited shipping, which made a lot of people mad but what can you do, you can only have so many free things :silly:

Just checked mine and it finally showed up. I'm surprised people are so upset and angry about not getting one. They said it would be open for a certain period out time or until supplies last.

Got mine shipped today. Looking forward to it. For 5 USD it's hard to beat. Also I would grab the universal driver on the play store before the Dev starts charging for it.

Bought one for full price. Works flawlessly for our phone, just a few things to note. One, it's super incompatible unless you download the third party unofficial driver. The stock one is awful. Works well with third party. Two, the sticks are awful. Just a pain to work with. But after a week I'm getting used to them. They're nubs. Only two shoulder buttons sticks.

Sounds like the better accessory might be a device to mount/hold your phone attached to a standard bt PS3 controller... it's worked very well via bt for me

Ordering Nexus 4 on Wednesday (feq questions)

Well I'll start off with saying how psyched I am about getting this phone regardless of what's coming out so far this year.
Believe it or not I've been using a badly cracked screen Xperia Play for 8 months and just haven't bothered with the mobile world since then.
I'm currently living in the UK and I have a few questions in regards to the Nexus 4 and general concerns.
How easy is it exactly to crack the screens front/back?
What case would you recommend for some one who is accident prone (nothing to bulky)?
How long did it take for UK customers to receive theirs after purchase? I'm getting the 16gb model and I went to checkout to check and they're telling me 1-2 business days?
Where can I get good wallpapers for it? I normally use Zedge but I had a nosey at their Nexus 4 walls and there isn't that many, I can just make my own or rescale other HD images but meh, I like looking for things I don't have.
In the UK do they need the micro sims? I ordered one anyway just incase.
Are there any apps that really stand out on the Nexus 4 for you?
Is it possible to root without boot loader unlocking it? Does it not come boot loader unlocked if ordered from the Google Play store?

Hi. Mine came after 2 days (I ordered it at 11pm Saturday and it came in early Tuesday morning). I'm currently living in UK too. I had to order micro sim from O2.

I should have gotten my phone in 2 days as well but some f*** ups from TNT extended it to 4 days. It appears that i was unlucky though as nobody else reported issues with the courier service. It might only be my local depot. Anyways, get a TPU case from ebay. It should provide it with enough protection for lightish drops. I got a really nice, clear one with an s pattern on the back from ebay for 2 quid. I'm also still using the original film on the front and back. They're doing their job alright
Regarding the micro sim... Just take your sim card to any phone corner shop and they will cut it to the right size for you. They offered to do it for free in my case. Left them 50 pence tip

I just cut my sim manually with a pair of scissors

My Nexus 4 arrives tomorrow !!! I'm also coming from a broken Xperia Play, my screen just came unresponsive and then it stopped working. I'm not from the UK but lately google has been shipping this devices in the expected time if not sooner.
As for the case, I ordered the official bumper (looks awesome, in pictures at least...) and the Spigen SGP Ultra Dual from Amazon. I'll coma back tomorrow to post my initial impressions on the bumper an the screen protector, I hope it doesn't add too much bulk

that's a little tricky. I cut my counsin's sim successfully, but when I cut my sim, it didn't work...
Titanium Backup is good for... backup, if you are looking an useful apps for Nexus 4. I also use System Tuner to turn off some background-running and start-up apps, as well as watch the CPU's temperature. Another apps I use is BetterBatteryStats. You also need an apps like Solid Explorer (trial for 7 days), however there are many apps with the same function, and free. Topic for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1992163
The Ballistic is bulky based on people's reviews, but they say it provides quite good protection.
I have this case http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1992163, two layers, you can see the images and decide for yourself. If you want to see the back of your nexus, you can use the official bumper although some folks really dont like it because it provides nothing to protect the back. There is a case with a transparent back, the Ringkee or something, go to Accessories, that thread is quite hot there.
For the back and front screen. Becareful. dont drop it and it will stay in good condition. I recommend a screen protector to avoid scratches.
I dont know how it is easy to crack the phone. I take my phone everywhere in my jeans' pocket (not skinny ) and it 's still good now without a scratch.

For the Slimport adapter, you can at least save a few quid if you use the coupon code ANDROID3 at checkout on Amazon.co.uk. Saves you £3.

No Charger with Phone

Just purchased mine for €560 on o2 PAYG have to get it unlocked, i was surprised to see there was no Charger with the phone, the o2 sticker on the says "there's no charger in this box, see how we're helping our planet" :-\ not a big deal I'll just use my Samsung charger but I don't recall anyone else on here saying they didn't get a charger with their phone.
Anyway finally I've got it just need to get this baby unlocked now and I'm flying

It's an O2 thing, they've done some eco-friendly deal with htc apparently. Google if your interested.

That's ridiculous! What's stopping o2 from taking the charger out of the box and then reselling it as an original accessory? What would have happenend if you had come from an iPhone? Would you have had to buy a seperate charger? The mind boggles!

They have teamed up with HTC to do it as far as I am aware. They do sell a non HTC charger thats meant to be more eco friendly for around £7.

The Samsung galaxy S3 charger works ok charging now but I'll have to take off a few quid when selling my S3 without the need charger, it is a bit ridiculous, there are plenty of other ways to "save the planet"

Speeds also the crucial factor here. Haven't received my One yet but every single phone I've ever used (aside from the iphone actually) charges like a disabled tortoise doing the 100m unless it's attached to the mains.

Perhaps, but we could pretend the cost of the device was cheaper because it had no charger. Although I highly doubt they would make you pay £5 for a new device with a 2 year contract just because it had the charger.
They key might be to haggle a little when you purchased, the assistant thought she was doing me a favour giving me a free One case when I got mine at Phones4U, I did then point out that this was as advertised on the website, but she didn't know that and was willing to throw a £25 case at me.

They have to be careful about this approach though, imagine someone getting a fancy phone like this for the first time, or someone coming from a device like the iphone with a different charger and realizing they have no charger for it ---> pretty pissed off.

Indeed this is true, ive got the Samsung charger so that will do but someone coming from iPhone as you said might be a tad pissed off.

i think he meant use the usb cable the comes with the htc with the iPhone usb plug, which would work since the voltage sent through usb's are mostly the same. but i can see why you were confused, i myself had to re-read it a few times before my brain actually switched on

How much can I get for my N4?

I upgraded to the OPO near the end of October and my Nexus 4 16GB is just sitting around and not in use.
This is aimed more at UK users.
It is in excellent pristine condition (no scratches front or back as they have screen protectors) and I have included loads of accessories including cases and spare screen protectors.
I have advertised it on a local selling page for £115 and gather some interest. I am wondering if you guys think this is an acceptable price?
I have taken a peek on eBay and seen one going for £150 and the bid hasn't ended. But that is the only exception I can't find others.
Should I expect more for the phone? Or should I sell it at this price?

Should I just go ahead and pull the trigger? I will miss the phone had some fond memories with it, but it doesn't have much use now.

Personally, I think you'll get nostalgic and regret selling it. Use it as a test mule for ROMs for your OnePlus One, since most ROMs available for for both. And it never hurts to have a back-up phone. Or something smaller when you don't want so large a phone (is that a OnePlus One in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?).
Sell it if you need the cash, I guess, but unless you're short on January's rent, my advice is to hang on to your Nexus 4.

I've kept so many handsets, just in case, then regretted it later when they never got touched, but it's your call mate. If you have a buyer lined up, I'd got go for it.
