I am not a developer but still able to perform tasks with proper instructions. I would like to hire someone that might be willing to assist me to load a stable mod of Android Lollipop or Kit Kat on my Mojo? I at this point do not have allot of faith that Madcatz will be forthcoming with futher updates for the Mojo? Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
Dude, just look at the mojo developer forum here... Already done

Let me rephrase from above....sorry was not to clear. I would like advice on a good stable mod that addresses allot of Mojo's stock software issues. I may need a mentor in the process because my experience stops at side-loading via adb. Ok so I have downloaded the Mods and software. I take it root is a must first? Can Mojo be rooted with adb or is the cable a must? Also is the adb command structure the same or close in Umbuntu Vs Windows? I in a short time have gone from Apple and Microsoft to Linux and Android? For the first time since DOS I have no Microsoft devices in my house The Bad I mostly feel clueless!!! I know this is elementary to you folks and I appreciate all your patience.
Ah ok. Rooting first i believe is needed to get twerp installed. Mojo explain how to root on their own site. I've never worked with adb over a network so I can't help there, I just used the cable and my windows PC, from there the guides in the developer section couldn't be more straight forward but alas you'll maybe need someone more offay on adb rules etc than me to aid you with your adb without the cable etc.

Welcome to freedom!
Do want you can with your hardware and software!
TMK, you need the male-male USB cable, for installing the recovery.
Then from recovery you can install the rom.
TMK, it's the same in windows and linux.
Tip: if your more comfortable on windows, use windows, don't add more complexity
Edit: If your going to pay anyone for help, it should be the dev of the rom @Unjustified Dev

Hi there,
It's probably something simple, but most things are easy when you know how!
Unrevoked does not see my Aria.
Running Unrevoked 3.32 under Ubuntu 10.04.
The USB debugging is ON in the phone.
I have tried to run reflash from the terminal using 'sudo reflash' but it will not run that way, doesn't even start.
Any ideas?
(the last time I was here, I was getting the windows 6 hack for my Audiovox Starcom 6700! I still have it by the way and it still works as a pocket PC just fine.)
Ted
One more thing.
I upgraded the rom to 1.25.502.12 tonight, hope that didn't kill this method.
Oh, it's 32 bit Ubuntu.
First of all, I ran it on the wife's windows (yecch) machine and everything worked great!
Whooo Hoooo!
Second, I kept looking and found this on the unrevoked page:
I'm running Linux and it won't detect my device!
Either run the program with root permissions, or add appropriate udev rules to the file /etc/rules.d/51-android.rules. Instructions are available at the Android Developers website.
So, I probably would have figured it all out anyhow...
Maybe this will help someone else.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if your knowledge is limited you might not want to root your phone.
If you can set up adb, follow simple commands, get the proper drivers installed for your phone to be recognized by your PC, etc...it's a fairly simple process.

Another example of the community spoiling people with 1 click root apps
Please for the sake of your phone, read about rooting and sut up your PC to use ADB before rooting your phone, or you will be in a world of hurt and looking for more help... I'm sure you are smart enough to do it, just do some research... it is actually a very easy process as everything is layed out step by step... Every thread in development here is worth reading... sorry i'm not here to preach, just help... but def read first so when your ready you'll know what to do, and where to go for help. unfortunately a post like this won't get you much help.
I see what the OP is saying. Verizon's handy work imitates a cd drive when plugged into PC. So putting in commands through cmd doesn't work -- at least it didn't with me, because it's not finding the device. I've got a lot of homework to do myself but Z4 1.3 sideloaded works on DI01 and not on DL09.
OP -- check out this thread:

adrynalyne is hot on this and f'n amazing
Use ODIN To push with root. I'm going to be trying this later...

Put your phone on USB debugging, plug your USB cable and reboot your phone. You will have the access to your SD instead of the CD and you PC will detect your phone.
Thread moved to General.
hello,
I wonder if one day it will be possible to proceed to the root of the machine without going through the adb android SDK?
Thank you
Anything is possible I suppose but being able to use ADB is something everyone who wishes to tweak needs to at least have a passing knowledge of. Even "one-step roots" sometimes go awry. Being able to use ADB could well be the only (if not best) way to un-brick!
Ok, just because SDK + Eclipse for mac, update and more is too big just for a root.
But I understand your reply.
EDIT: Please delete thread, problem solved.
Does anyone have any information on installing twrp from a mac? I have adb installed, but I haven't read anywhere about how to install it using a mac.
I installed TWRP using my Mac with the official Android SDK and platform-tools for Android 2.3 and Android 4.0 installed.
Basically just followed the instructions on the RootzWiki, as recommended by one of the devs: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/12343-how-to-install-twrp-20-linux/
did you install usb drivers (even though they aren't supported by mac osx)? and did you do anything differently because you were using a mac?
thanks for the link.

Sorry man, I don't remember whether or not I installed any USB drivers. If they're not supported, I imagine that I didn't.
But, I don't want to give you misleading info -- so, if you're not sure, I'd say hold off until someone who really knows what they're talking about chimes in. I'm pretty reckless when it comes to this stuff, and I'd hate for you to do something you regret on account of my mouth, ha!
sorry, another question, did the kindle automatically show up in adb with no tinkering, hate to pester you, im just planning everything before i give it a go.
also, did you plug it in while it was on with usb storage enabled?

You don't need any drivers. Adb and fastboot should both work just fine. You might need to edit the ini file though.
Did you have to edit the usb_ini file? if so, how would i go about doing it?

Same as on linux... I changed it, but i'm not sure i needed to.
ok, one final thing ( i promise) http://rootzwiki.com/topic/12343-how-to-install-twrp-20-linux/ is that similar to what you did?
Edit: I've ****ed up and now i'm stuck in fastboot. do you have any ideas how to fix that?
OK THIS IS MY FIRST POST SO I DIDNT KNOW WHERE TO POST IT IF ITS ON THE WRONG FORUM IM REALLY SORRY
I downloaded the application Bochs from the app store, which is an open source IA-32 (x86) PC emulator written in C++.
Then i downloaded kali linux 32bit LITE so i could run linux through a sort of virtual environment on my phone.
however i never even got to the point where i tried to install kali. while Kali was downloading I opened Bochs, and I was just looking at the interface I dont remember even changing or messing with it, but thats totally possible that i somehow did something to it but i dont know what the heck i could have done. i put the phone in my pocket waiting for kali to download and took it out of my pocket and it was bricked. HARD bricked. will not charge or register as a device on my laptop. IT WONT EVEN BOOT INTO RECOVERY MODE????
i have NO IDEA what happened. Does anyone know anything? important people need to be able to contact me, any help you could give i will be eternally grateful.
thanks for reading

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

What version of the V20 do you have and can you get into download mode by holding the volume up button while plugging in the USB?
Was it by any chance very low on battery before this happening?
With some phones (because of stupid/faulty design) there is a chance that the battery voltage will drop too low, so that the circuitry will no longer charge the battery since it considers the voltage too low...
Luckily the V20 has a removable battery so you could charge it externally for few seconds (or completely) to up the voltage enough. You can use just about any power supply at around 4-5 volt really, if you're simply aiming to up the voltage slightly.
But maybe that's not the problem. If you see the dreaded qhusb-9008 device appearing when you connect it to a pc, then it's definitely hard-bricked.
