Hey so I'm currently running mf3 on my s4 with safestrap running a stock android rom. I want to take the OTA to Kitkat.. But I believe I cant do it since I have root. I was wondering if there is a way to currently unroot my device so that I can update? Thank you.

[Q] Running 4.2.2 AMF3 rooted, Would like to update to 4.4.2. What are my options?

Just figured out how to unroot 4.2.2 by updating to 4.3 MK2.
I am interested in updating to 4.4.2. I understand that I won't be able to root once i update OTA.
how else can I update to 4.4.2 once I root. I think I would like to root 4.3 first.

If you want to update to 4.4.2, then you must be on stock firmware with no root. You will be stuck with all the bloatware from Samsung & carrier until a root exploit is realized. Check the mk2 all in one guide. It has everything you need to do this. Good luck & remember to thank the op in the threads!

Rooted AT&T 4.3 MK2 upgrading to 4.4.2 (and root)?

Hi,
I read the news that 4.4.2 is out. Is it really out?
I have stock ROM rooted using vroot. I've disabled the updates so it's still on 4.3 MK2.
Is there a safe process to upgrade to the latest 4.4.2? Any way to keep root or re-root?
Thanks

There is no root for 4.2.2, nb1. There is a tar file that can be used in Odin. There is also a work around so you can run a 4.4.2 rooted rom. See the general forum

Update using ota or keep root (noob)

Greetings! Im new to the rooting scene and i have a rooted note 3 on 4.3. I would like to know if it is better to install the ota update then root again or just flash a new rom that is kitkat already.
Thanks in advance.

You cannot OTA update since you have rooted. You can only download stock firmware and flash via Odin. And yes, you have to root again, also via Odin.
A new (custom) rom is another option, I have no idea with it.
For the time being, I would browse the Note 3 Android Development forum and see if a custom ROM is what you want. If it is, then by all means go ahead and flash one. If not, then upgrading to 4.4.2 and rooting is the best bet. Personally, I was on stock 4.4.2 rooted, and it didn't take long for me to flash a custom ROM. I'm on my third custom ROM in a month, so it can definitely get addicting.
You can update via OTA.
Thereafter, flash the old kernel xxund3.
root via towel root, and reflash the Kernel that came with the OTA update.
All via Odin. I don't think there's any way to do it, yet, and at the same time keeping knox 0x0.

MF3 to OK2 best way to update?

Basically what the title says I have stock rooted MF3 with safestrap and I was wondering the best way to upgrade to the most recent version (OK2 I believe). I looked into it and there seems to be a way to root OK2 so I could just let it update via OTA but then I would not have safestrap, I would prefer to keep safestrap but its not a huge deal. Any help would be much appreciated!
