Hi all,
I would like to ask you(with better skills than me) something about my LG device. Once I got up after listening to music my device was approximately 42celsius degrees and i had to turn it off for 30 mins to get it on a normal temperature. After that I realized my device battery is draining so fast. I don't know why....my idea is that: because of the high temperature or it's a software bug. I plug my phone off at 6:30am and after using it a little I only have maximum 20% at 4:00pm. I'm using Alegen's 5.0.1 rom and all the people who use it said they haven't got a problem like me. I downloaded CPUz and it says my battery life is good. So please help me because I don't know what to do.
Sorry about my English.
42 is a verry low temp. My G2 have 45 in idle, doing nothing. Dont worry, there is no pb with battery

Thanks for your answer but what should I do with my battery draining? I'm using it on a very low brightness and wifi is turned off,etc...
Make a nandroid backup and then try reflashing to stock after a full battery charge. Use the phone until 5-2% and then fully charge it. Then use as normal and see if it helps. If that hasnt helped it could be battery issues.
Also when the phone heats up is it near the top beside the camera?

Maybe you have some apps which keeps your device awake, try with another rom/kernel kombination (dont use 5.0 roms to test battery as battery is better on stock based roms)

99% of the time this is the case - a rogue app running, or one of its services, keeping the phone awake and running in the background.
OP, try this: reset the phone to factory settings, restart it and then just leave it like that for 30 minutes or so. Don't even enter your SIM PIN or anything. If the phone is still heating up, the unit is defective and requires service (it is not impossible that the battery is shorting out somewhere somehow).

Under factory reset you mean I have to backup the original LG software or my lollipop rom is good?
No, just try resetting to factory defaults (obviously, back up everything important), you can do it either through the menu or the recovery.

Hey,
I have just recently noticed a weird problem on my Arc..
When the battery goes below 20% it shuts down (similar to the way how it would shut down when the battery is out).
Then I need to connect the charger and switch it on, after which the battery will show at 1% and in 5 mins it will change to 21-22%...
so basically below 20% the phone thinks its actually ran out of battery even though it hasnt and hence shuts down..
any ideas about what could be causing this? is it a problem with my phone or the battery?
thanks

First thing you need to have "root". If you don't haven't rooted, use GingerBreak to root. Search the forum for the thread.
Second install Battery Monitor Widget from Market. Open the application (This is a widget. So you may want to insert the widget in your home screen), press menu and click "Statistics" option and it will prompt you for confirmation. Once done reboot to make sure it's cleared properly (Not necessary, but recommended).
Hope this resolves your issue.

I had a similar problem with my arc after charging it for the first time (charged it till 100% with the phone turned on). Then, after I used the phone, when it reached 10%, it just shut down. Then I decided to charge it with the phone turned off and this really helped. After two full charging cycles, the battery is acting normal. Now my arc shuts down at 2% which I think is normal.

Hi, today I went to office, I can see the battery reading is 84% after one hour of use in the transportation. When I plug the phone to the charger it shows 100% immediately (Charge so quickly isn't it ? :laugh. It remains 100% even I reboot the phone. Did anyone meet this bug?
Have never encounterd such a thing. Are you rooted?
Sv: Incorrect reading for battery after updated to 4.2.2
Never seem it but try a factory reset. I always do one after a system update.
Skickat från min Nexus 4
It's likely nothing is wrong. After every ROM flash, the battery calibration always messes up a bit. Just use the phone normally and the calibration will fix itself after a couple charge cycles. If you want to fix it sooner, run the battery down and charge it again.

That will happen with any/all N4's at some point. More commonly the battery will lie to you, forget to update battery level during deep sleep, etc... Your phone isn't "broken".
Mines just did that today.. Was at around 38, plugged it to the laptop to transfer stuff, took it off showed 100.. reboot fixed it but now I have to recalibrate

i tried it on my old phone and it worked. So far my N4 is still fairly calibrated.
batterystats.bin has absolutely nothing to do with the battery level your phone is showing you. Its a per charge battery history file, i.e. what you see if you go to Settings>Battery.

As far as am aware it doesn't really work? So your saying changing recovery for you helped with your battery, coz like i take it off charge and its 100% then it jumps down to 97% after a few minutes and am not even doing anything.. and i just got this phone this week. Am tempted to send it back, i don't know what to do?

That is because you left the phone plugged in for so long that it hits 100%, then it starts discharging to prevent overcharge.. so it drops to 95%, then charges again. You took it off at 97% (yes, it might still have shown 100% for a little while so you don't go and plug it in again).

Hi everyone, i have problem with my note 4, battery drops from 11 % to 3% very fast and charges after 85% very slow.. this problems started 2 days ago when i flashed dn5 custom rom i thought it was rom problem and flashed sixperience rom but still i have same issue also i tried battery calibration but again.... what can i do???? and my screen on time is only 3 hour. please help me, thanks.
Have you checked what's eating away at your battery? Settings => Battery (Here you should be able to see if anything is causing a drain).
If the settings screen doesn't seem to show anything, you could try BetterBatteryStats (This app will be able to tell you everything that's going on regarding running processes, wakelocks,... You should give it a day or so from a fully charged battery.)
And if even BBS doesn't show anything, I'd flash the stock firmware again (And check if it isn't the battery).

Well, in all fairness, mine is running CM 12.1, and SOT is a bit under 4hrs. Which isn't fantastic either. Quickcharge does slow down a bit after a certain percentage. You could try a new battery, but might be a waste of money.
I'm afraid I can't help you any further, maybe someone else can.

I am facing exactly the same problem .. I don't think buying a new battery will solve this problem.
My mobile is charging by AC very very slow and sometimes it stuck at certain percentage for hours and I tried many things but I am still facing this problem... While recharging if I removed the battery and put it again, the phone shows me that it is 100% while it was not 100% at all.
I wish someone can help us about this problem or if any of u guys tried a new battery and the problem has been solved, so please feed us back in here

well after 3 4 days (i mean after flashing sixperience rom) everything is ok. discharge to 0% then wait and full charge + calibrate battery may fix issue. but still dont like screen on time. only up to 3.5 4 hours
That sounds weard...
I mean the good thing is we could change the battery.
I have a feeling this is not battery issue. it's exynos + apps running on the background. Try to root + disable unnecessary apps (maybe Android 4.4 Would give you higher SOT). I had Note 3 previously and SOT was at the level of around 6 hrs (snap processor) - now on exynos it's around 4 hrs on stock firmware (5.1.1).
Hello, I have a Moto X Style model xt1572 and after upgrading to Android 7.0 (through OTA) I noticed that my phone's battery is losing its charge. Unfortunately, I did not notice if this same problem occurred before the update.
The problem occurs when I reboot the device (up + down + lock), it loses about 8 to 10 percent of the battery charge, sometimes even more, but if I turn it off and on again then it does not lose the charge .
As an attempt to solve the problem, I rooted the device and installed a battery calibration app, the app informed me that the battery health is good, but I still have the problem of the loss of charge if I reboot the device .
Yesterday, as part of my tests, I charged the phone thro 100% battery (from 12am when it charged 100%) and did not recharge the battery until it was empty, which came at 12h12am today, but i almost not touched my phone yesterday because of my job.
Still as a test, today, I loaded my device up to 100% and then turned it off and on, again, there was no loss of charge, so I rebooted the device and guess what? It dropped from 100 to 88%, I attached some images to the end of the post showing the full load and minutes after restarting the load drop, and also 100% of the load and minutes after switching off and on again with 100%.
Anyone who has upgraded to version 7.0 could test and see if this load loss also occurs?
I believe that it is problem in my battery, but I would like to exclude all possibilities before investing in a new battery.

Did you do a cache wipe and/or factory reset? I would suggest it, lots of major changes under the hood... A factory reset is recommended after any major OS version upgrade. Any troubleshooting prior to that would likely be a waste.

Hello i am facing the same problem. So i reverted back to marshmallow and it fixed i think. in nougut it drains battery even when you phone is idle thats what i think. And there is another thing moto x style stores it battery info in a pertition names logs-charging.(i am not sure) but maybe in nougut update it gets reset so battery calibration gets wrong and your phone thinks you battery can store 3000 mah when your battery can store less than 3000 mah, for an example like 2700 mah after some month of use. So when you restart your phone your phone checks battery power remaining by measuring voltage and it changes the percentage to show remaining battery. Well i can be wrong. And sorry for bad english.

Yes, original OTA update without any mod on the phone. Is Phone radio about the signal oscillation? if is, the reason is that i live on Brazil, our cell phone antennas here is not the best and on my work (where i pass almost all day) theres problem with signal, some operators not even has signal there in some points of the office...

Yeah, that's probably why... The worse the signal strength/quality, the harder the radios have to work.
How old is the device? If it's exceeding 18 months, probably a good idea to think about replacing the battery and back.
For my battery is really really worse on nougat! Like 1hour less SoT or more, a lot less active too. I have to charge it 3 times a day...
I recently did a factory reset on my galaxy s4, and when the screen is off it loses about 10+% an hour. It shouldn't be losing more than a tenth of that idle, at most. Using GSam battery monitor app, the vast majority of the battery is being consumed by Kernel(Android OS) and Android System. What can I do to stop this, please? Thanks for any help.

If the battery was good and suddenly began doing this, I would try to reflash stock. If you are already on stock, still reflash stock from a PC and see if it is improved. But battery drain while the phone is off usually isn't a software problem and is usually an indicator of hardware failure, typically the battery itself. You can try cleaning the pins on the phone where the battery connects. Also, try to lay the battery on a (near) perfect, flat surface and see if it is beginning to inflate even the slightest bit.

The thing is it says battery usage is 80% app usage, which is mostly android system and kernel OS, while phone is off.
How do I reflash stock from a PC? Is it the same as doing a Factory data reset on the phone?
Thanks again
