[Q] X10 GPS disabled

Hey,
I bought my x10 from a MENA country where they disable the gps on the phones.
Is there any way I can enable it without flashing my phone?
What do you mean? If you go to Menu-Settings-Location & Security you don't have the option Use GPS Satellites? Should be there.
I do have the option in the menu! and I can enable it but that does nothing, I was told that the chip has been disabled through the software, for example in Google maps, with the GPS activated it says your location is currently unavailable!
and that to enable it once the government allows it, there will be a code I can enter to get it to work! which means the chips is in there but needs to be enabled!
I rooted my x10, so I'm thinking there must be some kind of setting that needs to be changed to activate the gps chip!!
You'll either need to root it and then figure out what to change to make it work, or.. Switch to a different firmware.. If you need to at any point you can always switch back to your standard firmware.
Search for easy way to change to a different firmware on here.

Have you tried to enable your location? Try that. I know navigation isn't enabled in some countries because they haven't been mapped yet but your GPS should be able to determine your location.
I tried the location thing, It just doesn't work it stays busy but with no results.
I don't want to flash to a different firmware
I thought maybe someone on here would guide me to where the main options for gps reside using superuser rights
I'm hoping it can be enabled like that!!!
So I have flashed two different firmwares on now!!
Still no gps!
how can i get it to work?

[Q] Please Help me Devs Please

I upgraded my phone to froyo DDJP2 and like 2.2 gps isnt working.. I have tried GPS
Booster Lite app which used to work on 2.1 for faster lock down but it doesnt work. I also changed the gps.conf file and NTP server still no effect I have tried all fixes available on internet but my GPS doesnt lock at all. It views upto 3 satellites max but doesnt use even 1. I am really worried.. Please help me.. How to check if my GPS hardware ok or not? I guess its ok and its a software problem. If devs can help me that would be great. THANX IN ADVANCE.

My GPS works like a charm since I've updated to Indroid 4.1. It locks in 15 - 20 seconds which is quite good. On stock ROM, it sucks, sometimes it used to take more than 3 - 4 minutes to get a lock.
Neo is right.. Try gps aid..

Gingerdx bugs

Hello,
I have found some bugs in the latest GingerDX.
- 3D games like NFS Shift are not working...only a few of them works.
- Voice recognition in HTC_IME keyboard is not working..I just press the mic button..and nothing happens...while in stock keyboard it's working
- I often get a random request to unlock my SIM because of operator lock (yes..it's locked..but it's boring to always see that request after I insert PIN code).
1 - GignerBread requires an another version than froyo. I played NFS shift on GDXv009 - worked fine.
3 - it's not rom problem, it happens on multiple roms.
maybe you can try to disable SIM PIN.

oh nice to hear...i only downloaded it from the market...but it's always crashing and rebooting my phone...could you tell me, maybe in pvt, where to look for it? thanks
1. Use NFS Shift 1.0.60+
2.It's not working on all ROM
3.Try to disable SIM PIN
1. thanks for the advice..i will try newer versions
3. i'm not talking of PIN code but of Operator Lock. My phone is locked on the H3G network. I don't want to unlock it...but to remove the request when I turn it on!
