Hey There,
I have found these on another forum. Figured i should post here.
FYI These codes have been obtained by decoding various .apk files present in the phone firmware.
*#*#4636#*#*
This code can be used to get some interesting information about your phone and battery. It shows following 4 menus on screen:
Phone information
Battery information
Battery history
Usage statistics
*#*#7780#*#*
This code can be used for a factory data reset. It'll remove following things:
Google account settings stored in your phone
System and application data and settings
Downloaded applications
It'll NOT remove:
Current system software and bundled applications
SD card files e.g. photos, music files, etc.
PS: Once you give this code, you get a prompt screen asking you to click on "Reset phone" button. So you get a chance to cancel your operation.
*2767*3855#
Think before you give this code. This code is used for factory format. It'll remove all files and settings including the internal memory storage. It'll also reinstall the phone firmware.
PS: Once you give this code, there is no way to cancel the operation unless you remove the battery from the phone. So think twice before giving this code.
*#*#34971539#*#*
This code is used to get information about phone camera. It shows following 4 menus:
Update camera firmware in image (Don't try this option)
Update camera firmware in SD card
Get camera firmware version
Get firmware update count
WARNING: Never use the first option otherwise your phone camera will stop working and you'll need to take your phone to service center to reinstall camera firmware.
*#*#7594#*#*
This one is my favorite one. This code can be used to change the "End Call / Power" button action in your phone. Be default, if you long press the button, it shows a screen asking you to select any option from Silent mode, Airplane mode and Power off.
You can change this action using this code. You can enable direct power off on this button so you don't need to waste your time in selecting the option.
*#*#273283*255*663282*#*#*
This code opens a File copy screen where you can backup your media files e.g. Images, Sound, Video and Voice memo.
*#*#197328640#*#*
This code can be used to enter into Service mode. You can run various tests and change settings in the service mode.
WLAN, GPS and Bluetooth Test Codes:
*#*#232339#*#* OR *#*#526#*#* OR *#*#528#*#* - WLAN test (Use "Menu" button to start various tests)
*#*#232338#*#* - Shows WiFi MAC address
*#*#1472365#*#* - GPS test
*#*#1575#*#* - Another GPS test
*#*#232331#*#* - Bluetooth test
*#*#232337#*# - Shows Bluetooth device address
*#*#8255#*#*
This code can be used to launch GTalk Service Monitor.
Codes to get Firmware version information:
*#*#4986*2650468#*#* - PDA, Phone, H/W, RFCallDate
*#*#1234#*#* - PDA and Phone
*#*#1111#*#* - FTA SW Version
*#*#2222#*#* - FTA HW Version
*#*#44336#*#* - PDA, Phone, CSC, Build Time, Changelist number
Codes to launch various Factory Tests:
*#*#0283#*#* - Packet Loopback
*#*#0*#*#* - LCD test
*#*#0673#*#* OR *#*#0289#*#* - Melody test
*#*#0842#*#* - Device test (Vibration test and BackLight test)
*#*#2663#*#* - Touch screen version
*#*#2664#*#* - Touch screen test
*#*#0588#*#* - Proximity sensor test
*#*#3264#*#* - RAM version
thanks a lot.
Nps. I found it on GSM fourms.
Figured maybe can come to use.
don't suppose there's a code that would inadvertently disable usb connection to a pc, or not allow a cold bootup without the power cable plugged in?
LOL, or maybe to reverse all that stuff I listed?
I got rooted just fine. But at some time later after fiddling around, I ran into my problems.
Suggestions?
when i use the code that shutsthe phone off by longpressing the button whenever i get a text it bypasses the lockscreen and even the pattern lock completely
Wow, very nice work rhcp.
hmm
some of these are in the SGS Tools app in the market.
hopefully more of these can be added.
Great find RHCP!!
Can anyone tell me the GPS settings for the Rogers Branded Focus?
I've been mucking with my settings, both from the main diagnostic menu and from the GPS test app, and I seem to have messed up a setting somewhere and cannot get "Location" to show on Bing Maps. It keep saying, 'searching' without returning a location.
I'm Interested in the following settings from the Diagnosis app:
(default settings is displayed as sub-heading when entering the option)
MOLR CP/UP
3G MOLR request type
TLS option
and in the GPS test app:
(*#1472365# from diagnosis main screen)
In the ... menu, go to settings:
QoSAccuracyMeter
(read setting)
QoSTimeoutSec
(read setting)
Any help would be handy.
Thanks.
Any updates on this issue??
I have a Rogers Samsung Focus running on FIDO network. I can check it out if you still need ?
Even I am facing the same problem...Maps is unable to locate me..though it was working a few days back..any help will be really appreciated..

Thanks! I too get these values but still GPS is not working..In status it says: Location service is off..when I start the tracking, it says "data unavailable, high accuracy". I have tried to toggle to low accuracy but still it does not get changed. GPSinfo app shows GPS as off..
Please help. GPS was working a few days back..but it has stopped working now..has the chip gone bad?
Is wifi turned on? Toggle wifi on/off then try diagnosis again. I got the same message then toggling the wifi got it working.
Curious?
I've always wondered why the gps lock was so quick. My theory is that the GPS must heavaly rely on AGPS not a real gps using satalites. The reason I say this is that when tweaking those settings I sometime cannot establish a lock for a while. It also seems to be less smooth almost jittery. Also don't tell the faa but I turned the phone on in airplane mode in an airplaine and could not get a gps fix at all so it really leads me to believe these phones must suffer the same issue the old ones do with not getting gps locks as quickly as we hope. This also makes the GPS speedometer useless as I cannot see how fast my plane is going. LOL.
hey i am posting some important codes for our galaxy 3.

Lol @ "impotant".
Anyways, a similar thread already exists:

Got bad Focus 1.3 GPS performance? Info below helped me. Not for the fainthearted, requires unlocking and registry edits, YMMV, I'm not responsible if you wreck your phone, I pulled some of this info from other posts, etc.
Symptoms:
GPS accuracy/ability to lock degrades. Updates & reflashes make GPS work great for a week or so, then it has trouble locking, then stops locking inside 350 meters at all.
Fixes:
These helped; not sure all are needed.
•Change settings
-WiFi: on (improves initial H accuracy)
-Location: on (obviously)
-Cellular: on (need for initial fix)
-Find my phone: connect and save both checked
•Diagnosis App
Enter "Test Mode" by dialing *#1575# in diagnosis app, then see three options in the "Change state" menu:
-MOLR CP/UP: Set to CP MOLR state
-3G MOLR request type: Set to LocEstimate type
-TLS Option: Set to Tls on
•Registry tweaks (must be fully unlocked, use WP7 Root Tools for reg edits)
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\Drivers\GPSOneDevice\OpenStandalone
Change from 0 to 1
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\Drivers\GPSOneDevice\QOSAccuracyMeter
Set to 100
•Reset GPS when it stops getting a lock
1-Remove battery
2-Remove sim card
3-Let phone sit with battery out for 10~30 minutes
4-Replace battery and restart without sim card
5-Shut down and replace sim card
6-Run and calibrate compass app before launching GPS app
•Use offline apps
At first I figured my problems came from lousy Samsung satellite GPS hardware. Then I read this on a MS dev site:
-"GeoPositionAccuracy.Default accuracy uses Wi-Fi or the Cell tower signal ..."
-"GeoPositionAccuracy.High accuracy uses the [satellite] GPS receiver ... built into the windows phone device."
-"Developers write apps to use GeoPositionAccuracy.High accuracy instead of GeoPositionAccuracy.Default ONLY WHEN NECESSARY, because it could ... affect the performance ... So, devs use Default accuracy level whenever possible."
So I started wondering if the phone would be more accurate with all data turned off.
Result: works much better with data off. Using MapSnap GPS with no data, there's no more location jumping between cell towers, just a steady track. Tracks me hour after hour on bike rides, hiking under trees, etc. Tracks exported to Google Earth are pretty accurate. Best thing is I can use the GPS offline week after week and it keeps locking down to ~10 meters.
Tip: Get your first fix with data on before going offline. I open MapSnap, get initial fix, then go into airplane mode.
Apps: MapSnap GPS is flawless, but you need to supply and calibrate your own maps. Haven't tested with Nokia Drive because I don't need turn-by-turn, but people say Drive works with no data.
EDIT: Just tested with Nokia Drive and works well with no data. Same drill: get GPS fix in Nokia Drive with data on, leave app running in background, turn on airplane mode, return to app.
Best Guesses for Focus 1.3 GPS Weirdness:
-Driver that juggles cell tower and satellite GPS info is poorly written.
-Cell tower location driver is poorly written.
Thanks for sharing, looks like good info.
Hello
I ve upgrade to 8.0.0. build 34.4.A.2.32
I'm not sure that the problem comes with the update.
I have no more compass function in maps or waze apps .
I test with the service test menu ( *#*#7378423#*#*)
And the answer is :
Service TEST menu / compass > 'This device doesn't support the function
Can someone confirm me that the compass function is still alive with the 8.0.0 update ?
Tks !

Hi, I'm on latest firmware .32 and compass is working well.
I'm having a similar issue with both the compass and GPS, both of which had been functioning just fine until about a week ago. The problem is most obvious when I use GPS Essentials; even though it can "see" a bunch og satellites, the app now fails to lock on to any of them (all satellites show up in gray; normally, tethered satellites are colored blue, and the ones used to locate the phone are green.)
Opening the app's compass function, if you spin the phone around in every direction, the compass will rotate only within a very small range - about 20 degrees or so.
So far, the only workaround that I found was to manually "purge assistance data" from the service menu ever time before I start using Google Maps, Earth, or GPS Essentials. For the uninitiated like myself:
1. In the dialer, tap *#*#7378423#*#* on the keypad.
2. In the service menu that appears, tap "service tests."
3. In the list that appears scroll down to GPS and tap.
4. Now tap "purge assistance data." You may also tap "GPS location test" afterwards to see if the phone will lock on to as many satellites as it needs to get a location (which it most likely will.)
5. This will clear the issue for a few hours, or at least until the next reboot. Now both the compass and GPS receiver should work again, and you may use the GPS-based app or apps of your choice. (You will need to do this again the next time the phone fails to tether to any satellites - which, until the issue is addressed in a future update, seems inevitable. Let's keep our fingers crossed.)
