[5.0.2] asian soak test captured - Moto G General

Thanks to one of the Russian user who captured 5.0.2 soak update
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=526899&st=9080#entry37200470

Did you try flashing it? Downloading now will post results soon...

What I have been reading, people who got update are people are-
1- soak test Asian retail users with 5.0.1 - 15 mb update
2- some chosen ones, not even soak registered - 4.4.4 to 5.0.2 update - 357 mb
I hope this one proves final.

Anyone tried it please can anyone confirm its working ?

[Condor] 5.1 official OTA captured

Guys, it's good news here. The 5.1 OTA has been captured by one of the guys on FB. He specially rooted his phone just to capture the OTA for us, so great thanks to him. His name is Saurabh Das.
Here's the link to the final 5.1 OTA from Motorola: http://www.mediafire.com/download/m....36.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03.zip (209MB)
Note: This update file will only work if you are on the second soak test update which has the size of 13MB.
Here are the links to all the soak test updates from Motorola:
Soak 1: http://www.mediafire.com/download/f....32.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03.zip (341MB)
Soak 2: http://www.mediafire.com/download/e....36.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03.zip (13MB)
Soak 3: NOT NEEDED.
How to update:
1. You have to make sure you are on the second soak test update 5.0.2 having system version 22.21.36 from Motorola (13MB).
2. If you are not on system version 22.21.36, then do the following:
Flash stock ROM Kitkat 4.4.4. If you don't have it, download from here: https://mega.co.nz/#!SUZA3AbR!P_qdV24-ZpqSwKhCPjifBcd7en7Y7AkBZpRApb2loHs
Follow this guide to flash 4.4.4 on your Moto E: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/development/downgrade-5-0-x-to-4-4-4-stock-firmware-t3031073
Once you're on 4.4.4, boot into the system. Now place the Soak 1 file (341MB) in the root of the SD card, go to Settings>About phone>System Updates. Your system will detect the update. Install it.
Now you'll be on system version 22.21.32. Now put the Soak 2 file (13MB) in the root of the SD card, go to Settings>About phone>System Updates. Your system will detect the update. Install it again.
Now you'll finally be on the system version 22.21.36.
3. Now download the 5.1 OTA (209MB) and rename it to:
Code:
Blur_Version.23.21.34.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03
...and place it in the root of the SD card.
4. Go to system->about phone->system updates. Your system will detect the update. Install it. Let it finish. You're done!
Congrats :highfive:
Thanks
This upgrade to xt1021 been tested or xt1022?
What about those who already installed the 7 MB update???
This is for XT1022 only.
For those who updated to 7MB either wait for update from motorola or flash 4.4.4-> 5.0.2 (both 341mb and 13mb) and then apply this 209mb update.
It has been confirmed that the capturer has successfully updated to 5.1 system version 23.21.34.

in 13mb update
Please put clear instructions . whether to flash thru custom recovery or by going thru ota 5.0.2 and put the file of 208mb in internal or extsdcard and check for ota updates ?
YOU NEED TO BE ON UNMODIFIED AND VERY MUCH ORIGINAL STOCK 5.0.2 LOLLIOP UPDATE OF THE SIZE 13MB (SECOND SOAK TEST). THIS MEANS YOU HAVE TO FLASH STOCK 4.4.4, THEN UPDATE IT TO FIRST SOAK TEST (341MB), THEN AGAIN UPDATE IT TO SECOND SOAK TEST (13MB). AT THIS POINT, YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK FOR UPDATES VIA ABOUT PHONE->SYSTEM UPDATES, IF YOU GET A NOTIFICATION FOR 5.1, THEN ENJOY OTHERWISE YOU CAN USE THE FILE UPLOADED ON MEDIAFIRE HAVING THE SIZE 209MB AND PUT IN ON THE SD CARD AND CHECK FOR UPDATES MANUALLY LIKE YOU DID BEFORE. IF IT DOESN'T DETECT, THE FILE NAME ACTUALLY NEEDS TO BE MODIFIED TO PROBABLY 23.21.34 WHERE IT SAYS 22....SOMETHING. TRY AFTER THAT. OR ROOT UR PHONE AND PUT THE 209MB FILE IN /CACHE/ WITHOUT RENAMING AND CHECK FOR UPDATES. IF NOTHING WORKS, I'M SORRY, I don't REALLY KNOW WHAT THE FILENAME NEEDS TO BE. BTW, THE CAPTURER successfully UPDATED TO 5.1. WE BOTH STAYED AWAKE THE WHOLE NIGHT FOR THIS PURPOSE AND HE SAYS 5.1 IS REALLY SMOOTH.
SORRY FOR ALL CAPS.
If your phone doesnt detect the update, rename it to .38. It worked for me

Someone who is on 5.1 has to make a system backup on twrp and upload it. Thats the best way for making flashable zip
I think it does not work in TWRP(Custom recovery)
Stayed awake whole night and I'm more confused than ever. Don't know if I should flash KitKat or wait for update for 7 MB version or keep trying renaming it different ways.

Clarification
Hi guys, Im saurabh who uploaded the 5.1 ota.
Well, I never used the last 7mb incremental soak test that few people used. Before lollipop soak test, I was running the the kitkat 4.4.4.
So just like others, I used the first captured 350 mb approx soak test and copied it to external sd and got the lolipop soak test by checking for update. But as we all know , it had few issues , so thankfully some guy uploaded 13 mb incremental file too. I again installed it by copying to sd card and checking for update.
Meanwhile, few people got 7 mb update, but I was so annoyed by the 5.0.2 performance that I never bothered to find out about it. On 14th june, I got picked for Motorola Feedback Network. Anyhow, being bugged by the poor performance of stock soak test 5.0.2 I decided to unlock bootloader and root my device. Incidentally , after unlocking bootloader my mobile factory retested as expected. After booting I got OTA prompt of 5.1 being available . Now , rather than installing I thought of capturing it, so after downloading the 209 mb file I rooted it and captured the ota. (Again I had to go through the painful steps of going back to kitkat 4.4.4 to get back stock recovery, but Nilakanto, OP, helped me with all the correct files so thanks a lot to him). So, all in all, I am running lollipop 5.1 now.
Things needed :
First soak test of 350 mb file
Second soak test of 13 mb.
I never installed the 7mb soak test that was pushed later.
Stock recovery
Locked or unlocked bootloader does not affect it as you all know.
Ofcourse, no root
You may have to rename the file as one user suggested.
Good luck guys.:good:
EDIT : Many users are also getting OTA prompt for 5.1. So , I think everyone running soak tests shall get it sooner or later.
Some screenshots
Here are a few screenshots and available memory after installing 5.1. I did not had any extra app installed.

Official Nougat Stock ROM for Moto G4 Plus

Hello guys,
I'm on soak test ROM NPJ25.75-2 currently.
I see that the official Nougat release for our XT1643 phone is way ahead of this soak test build. I couldn't find the latest image any where. Please let me know how I can update/flash the latest build.
P.S. Everything is smooth and fine with my soak test build except that every now and then, speaker stops working. I don't hear any sound during calls, or games or notification. Nothing. Then I have got to restart to get it working back. If anyone is facing similar problem and has found a solution, kindly let me know.
Thanks in advance!
There is no official release yet.
Why no update? Apparently motorola is same kind of abandonware now as most of the chinese bulk phones...
Here's what I found on this-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3517059
For this, if you are on soak test ROM, you will have to downgrade to latest MM version. To downgrade, follow - http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...owngrade-to-marshmallow-nougat-t3515961/page5
Hope you guys find this helpful.

The downgrade of the bootloader to MM is possible only if he unlocks the bootloader. That means loosing the warranty.

XT1524, sorry
Got this too but couldn't install it because my Bootloader is unlocked.
It says Fingerprint mismatch in recovery console log after it tries to install.
I forgot what exactly stopped it so i tried anyway LOL
Although mine is the XT1527 From Telus Canada CID 14
I captured the blur package too if someone knows how to patch it to install.
But.. i have Squid's kernel running and i am fairly certain that would over-write his kernel.
I posted here to let people know it's out.
I looked for a Firmware.zip for the version but couldn't find one.. yet.
Who ever is making them needs to do one up for the Telus version 24.71.4.en.ca
If anyone finds this post it !

Yes you can but you have to reflash whole stock firmware (the currently installed one) available for your device
It worked for me earlier when upgrading from 5.0.2 to 5.1.1 then to 6.0
If you OTA update your device in the state it is now (that's twrp+squid kernel) it might end up hard-bricking the device

Yup.. i posted the wrong thing earlier.. it has nothing to do with the bootloader.
I was running Marshmallow on my XT1527 with the unlocked bootloader and Squid's TWRP + Kernel and SuperSU + Custom Bootlogo / Animation.
So what i did was restore all the stuff stock then the OTA update installed fine.
I already had the firmware from when i downloaded it here a year ago.
THEN..
I thought hey know what ? Since i already made a TWRP back up.. lets use it !
After the OTA update was back on i started putting the custom stuff back on..
then i went into TWRP and restored only the DATA partition.. bingo had all my app's + settings still
Still running great and stable and yeah it was December 2016 patch level.
No idea what volte is but i think it was just an update for security.
I am currently fighting with rooting this update.
I just installed this
XT1527_SURNIA_RETCA-TELUS_6.0_MPI24.71-4_cid14_subsidy-TELUS_CFC.xml.zip
( OTA after reflash to 6.0 )
I am putting my info and trials HERE
Thanks for the info. Mine didn't pop up the update, but checked and there it is.

From the updater script, looks like you'll need OPN27.74/28 to flash this soak test OTA, and will bring your device up to OPN27.76-12-2/4
Code:
Package expects build thumbprint of 8.0.0/OPN27.76-12-2/4:user/release-keys or 8.0.0/OPN27.74/28:user/release-keys
Having a quick look through the updater script, looks like it'll check and update your boot (kernel), modem, OEM, system and GPT/bootloader partitions. I see references to Google Widevine in the modem images too. At least the error messages seem to be a little more helpful.
You can find the updater script at the following path: OreoSoak2.zip\META-INF\com\google\android\ or as an attachment.
As always, it's up to you if you want to flash these soak tests, bear in mind there may be bugs and unless you get the other soak test OTA updates, you may not be able to update back to the official OTA path. That is, unless you can find the stock Oreo fastboot ROM or try to downgrade. Or you could just wait for the official Oreo OTA to come out....
That's soak 3 buddy.
and the soak 2?

No you need the second one as well. You must install them in order that is why it is never smart to install a soak test unless you are in the test

If you've got the December 2017 7.1.1 update on your device, completely stock, you may be able to install these soak tests. However, as xantanion has pointed out, there appears to be at least one soak test OTA missing. Thus, you may be able to flash the first soak test OTA, then you may not be able to flash the soak test in this thread as you're not on the expected build for this OTA (i.e. you may be missing the inter-linking builds as again pointed out by xantanion). OTA updates check the build you have on your device before flashing, as I mentioned in the above post - this OTA requires OPN27.76-12-2 or OPN27.74 - if you don't have either, you may not be able to flash this OTA.
Without access to those possibly missing builds, you'd be stuck on an OTA build, and unless you find the Oreo fastboot stock ROM (which isn't out yet) or downgrading back to 7.1.1 (possibly risky, requires an unlocked bootloader), you likely won't be able to progress (no OTA updates) or not be able to flash the non-soak OTA builds. You'll only get these soak test OTA builds if you're part of the soak test program or someone can leak them.
You do not have to flash these soak test builds, you can always wait for the official OTA to arrive, unless you're willing to put up with the possible bugs in the firmware and the possibility that your device may not receive OTA updates.
EDIT - looks like some users may be having some luck with this OTA build?

I imagine it really is Motorola's decision, whenever they're happy with the build from internal testing and from the soak tester reports, and whether there are any major/show-stopping bugs still present or introduced. Minor bugs, depending on if they've been reported, may be fixed prior to the final OTA, or scheduled to be fixed in the post Oreo release if they're more troublesome to fix or troubleshoot. The soak test OTA may become the final OTA that's released to the general update channel, or there may be further OTA patches, which of course will push back the release date. The last thing you want is to introduce the Oreo update and then pull it, as happened with the Samsung Galaxy S8 devices.
So, it's anyone's guess when the release date will be, and why OEMs likely don't give hard deadlines, despite what the PR news release that's been on Ausdroid and other platforms suggests. At least you're getting a soak test - Moto G4 Plus/G5/G5S devices haven't seen one yet!
Please share the new apps.. dialer, camera, contacts

I agree, you guys should ve happy for getting soal tests.. i have both G5+ and G5s+ and no soak tests.. we'll get oreo in may..
