HEY GUYS ,please i need help, this issue is really annoying me and i will appreciate any help.
i tried rooting my note 4 910f, 4.4.4, i used the CF root and flash it on odin, but for some reason my device is not rooted, and it keeps rebooting with the message (recovery booting recovery is not in seandroid), ive tried all the links and they all end up with the same failure.
i managed to flash another recovery to make my phone usable, but does anyone know what can i do to root it?
plz plz i have unlocked my device just to root it

please add N910-H

HI, the toolkit had been really useful. However, I recently updated my N910C for MM Poland version. When I tried to root it using the toolkit, it did not install the root, I tried all the possible options for installing root and it did not work.... The recovery installed, but, SU did work.... However, I installed HANI ROM by flashing it through TWRP without any issues. Just a heads up

[Q] Best method for root and custom recovery for Sprint Galaxy S4 mf9?

Hi,
First, I'd like to thank everyone (names unknown) for their time and effort in helping me root my first few cellphones. I've found many helpful posts over the years. Never had a problem.
Now, I have rooted my Sprint Galaxy S4 and installed a custom recovery MDC build. I then installed the OTA update to MF9 which knowingly destroyed root. I have tried several methods to install the custom recovery and root for MF9. When I run Root Checker, it tells me that it may take a little time because the system appears to be running slow. When I use Root Explorer, it won't let me change from r/o to r/w. To me, this means it isn't rooted.
What I am looking for is either a response explaining how to install a working custom recovery and root to my phone or a link to the best method.
Is there an Odin One-click?
I'm having difficulties following this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277480
I don't want a custom rom just yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just use cf auto root in Odin, then use Odin to flash your recovery. The thread is in one of the dev sections. Can't link it just now but it should be easy to find.

First, I am by no means a Mod... but just as a little tip they will tell you questions belong in the question section and move it there where it will get buried. You better off posting future questions there where people often help if they can.
Ok onto your thread.
If you check out these two sections in the thread you linked they should help you. You will want to do the Custom Recovery Flash first then install Chainfire's SuperSU
CUSTOM RECOVERY FLASH
Recovery TWRP. Download this.
DL LINK http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/jfl...0-jfltespr.tar
About TWRP http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2
With USB cable NOT connected, turn off your device. Now boot into download mode. (Hold volume down then power...HOLD and WAIT... then volume up to accept message) Now connect USB cable.
Put the TWRP recovery .tar in the same folder on your computer that the Odin execution app is. Right click Odin.exe and click run as administrator. Flash TWRP using PDA mode with auto reboot UNCHECKED. Hit start. When you see RESET or PASS, move on.
Unplug USB cable. Next hold down VOL UP and the POWER button until the device turns off. Keep pressing VOL UP and let go of POWER. When you see the blue "recovery booting" let go of VOL UP. You will then boot into your new recovery. This should work if done correctly. Resore your Data back up if necessary and reboot. It SHOULD realize you are not Rooted and ask you if you want to Root. Select to Root (or not) and your done!
HOW TO ROOT STOCK MF9
You can either Odin flash CFAutoRoot from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2291827
Check here for How To video:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2257101
OR Custom Recovery Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.41.zip from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1538053
Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.41.zip in TWRP or CWM to gain the latest and greatest Root for your S4 from Chainfire!
You should now be rooted with MF9 for the Software version, Baseband version (modem) and Build number.
I am not an expert by any means but I have been through all of this after having my new GS4 for about a week. I, however, updated to MF9 first before doing any rooting or installing any recoveries so I don't know if that would make a difference or not. I first installed Odin 1.85 then downloaded the correct CF Auto Root tar.md5 file and installed that with Odin. It took seconds and worked perfectly. After that I installed Philz Touch CWM-based recovery also with Odin and everything seems to be working like a charm. See below
CF Auto Root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980683

Thank you everyone for your help.
I am finally rooted.
I went back to an older stock rom. Then I followed the link in my original post.
Everything went smoothly.
But, Triangle Away doesn't work anymore.
I get the following message:
Could not locate hidden partition or could not detect device model. Are you running Android 4.0 or newer, and are you rooted, and is your device supported?
I uninstalled and reinstalled Triangle Away. Opened it again and got the same message.
I'll search the forums to see if there's an answer.
But once again, thank you for your help and encouragement. Just wish that I had more time to tinker with custom roms!
Additionally, I didn't lose any data throughout the whole process.

[Q] Problem with TWRP in rooted and unlocked nexus 10

Hello guys, first time posting here, I'm pretty sure it's a silly question, sorry if it is but I couldn't find the answer anywhere. I have an unlocked and rooted device, I installed the last 4.3 update this morning, and usually TWRP let me automatically fix the root just after install the update. But this time it just installed it and booted the tablet, and when I try to enter the recovery mode to fix the root in TWRP, I only see the droid with the exclamation mark.
So the problem is that I don't have root, and I cannot enter TWRP to fix it. TWRP went away with the latest update?. For entering the TWRP I pressed vol+ vol- and power and the pick recovery... is it correct?
Thank you in advance for the great community we have in android and sorry for my english
The same thing happened to me, I resolved it by:
- download a recovery image such as TWRP to a desktop/laptop and then flash it via abd
- now boot into recovery and flash SuperSU 1.51 or higher (1.55)
From what I read you probably did this once before. The 4.3 update overwrote your recovery image and root.

Nice that it is solved but please do nog use toolkits anymore. I respect the effort and time people take to make them but learning fastboot is just way better. Maybe harder but hard work pays off. Almost everyone will tell the same.
For people who want to use fastboot:
1. Flash custom recovery via fastboot.
2. Boot into recovery.
3. Flash latest supersu.
You can put solved in the title by edeting it.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Premium HD app

Good time . I have a similar problem : after a recent update missing root. I tried to flash a custom recovery by fastboot, but the process hangs at downloading recovery.img to nexus. I tried using other drivers and a different version of fastboot, but to no avail.
Ps: by same drivers and fastboot I got the root before.

Has anyone else had any success rooting this variant?
HI
You have to install a custom recovery and flash it via latest version of ODIN available (higher than 3.0.9). Then get cf auto root tool and copy it to your SD card. Install it via recovery.

After flashing the flash does not take. When I go to adb and reboot into recovery it just boots into the stock recovery. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong, but I flashed the custom recovery just as instructed.

If you are in stock it will reflash stock recovery. The easiest fix is to flash SuperSU after installing the new recovery and burying straight to recovery from bootloader
thanks so much
how do you get into recovery once its flashed
i succesfully flashed cwm recovery but dont know what button combo or whatever to get into cwm
Recovery usage
Is it possible to use the remote with this, or is it strictly for use with something like ROM manager? I'm doing a manual backup from ADB, but I'm hoping for nandriod-style backups in the future. Is that on the horizon? Thanks!
awesome
as awesome as this is it was really easier to flash with fastboot. great work though
Is there something I can modify to get this recovery to install OTAs?
OR: is there a way to stop the NP from automatically attempting to reboot and install OTAs?
It seems like every time I want to use the NP it's stuck at the recovery screen having failed to install an OTA. It's a tad annoying.
System UI stopped error with wireless keyboard/mouse
Everything worked fine in cm 12 but plugging in keyboard/mouse combo causes the error System UI Stopped window to appear every second. I have wiped and reinstalled latest nightly and gapps as directed in the thread. still the same problem.
I cannot go back to stock, for some reason my computer is not able to detect nexus player when i set it to usb debug.
Thanks,
ok if I wanted to side load the CM12.1 rom once I'm into CM Recovery what command would I use to do that? I have the NP wired straight to my laptop.
My TV does seem to stretch the screen to much in CM Recovery and theres no way I can adjust it on my end. i.e. the LE on legacy is cut off. Not sure if this is a known issue or not but it made navigation a little challenging. Doable though.
Looking forward to using the 12.1 ROM

For BL unlocking follow this
For rooting
If staying on stock:
Boot into download mode (VOL-DOWN + HOME + POWER) and flash twrp-3.0.2-0-trltevzw via ODIN (MAKE SURE YOU UNCHECK AUTO-REBOOT!!!).
Battery pull phone and then boot straight into recovery (VOL-UP + HOME + POWER) to finish the recovery install process or else it will install the default android recovery.
Then flash the Emotion-TW-5.1.1-nightly-r21-RC1-SM-N910P kernal via recovery.
Then flash the BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524 via recovery.
Reboot.
If going to a different rom, you should just be able to flash the rom via recovery and get right in. But results may very, check the forums.

Can someone please tell me where I have gone wrong.
I have gotten temproot via kingroot installed and was able to get the unlocker to run and I can see that the device is now a developer device. I am trying to get root to work but not having any luck.
I follwed the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/guide-noobs-guide-to-perm-root-twrp-t3360883 and had problems in step 8 when trying to run super-sume. I ran it successfully for stage 1 but then it hung when trying to run stage 2. However, I was able to move on to step 9 and install TWRP and the emotion kernel. I have done a full reset and tried a 2nd time but still no luck in getting permament root access.
Root checker shows no root access and superSU is installed but shows no su binary installed.
If I run SuperSUME-Pro then it shows the device is wrte=protected
It seems I can run kingroot again to gain temp root access but not perm root access.
Any ideas on how to proceed from here?

Install SuperSU from TWRP. Does that work?
If you Developer mode and twrp but no root, then what you need to do is install emotional kernel from twrp and reboot device then boot back into twrp and install SuperSU zip and reboot device you should be fine.
After re-checking my recovery I do not believe that I have TWRP installed after all. I was booting into android recovery and it hit me I was not seeing what I expected to see. I need to work on getting TWRP installed. I do indeed have the custom kernel and developer mode enabled!!

So what you posted above is all that you need to do for root? You definitely have a much more concise explanation than the main thread. The other instructions made me feel like I was back on my old Droid 2 working from the giant tutorial threads over on rootzwiki, hah.
I'm also guessing that as you mentioned elsewhere that if we wish to run a custom ROM we'll have to reflash the stock kernel before doing so?
Does it matter whether or not its 4.4.4 or 5.1.1

The instructions for rooting suggest installing the Emotion kernel first.
Many of the ROMs available to flash will suggest which kernel to use. You can go directly to that kernel.
