Is it possible to mirror my laptop(8.1) screen to my S4?
Windows are scanning for devices but can't find my phone.
Actually win found my phone once but never again from then.
Thank you in advance and sorry for my English.
don't think this will work with samsung screen mirroring.
screen mirroring works perfectly fine with my tv ... so i got my phone screen on the big tv screen but i don't think it will work the other way (tv>phone).
only way to do that in windows is with another app like teamviewer i think. but for what? ur s4 is way to small to use windows on it. also i think it will lag like hell.
if u just want to control ur pc get unified remote. u don't need ur windows screen on ur mobile. useless
I don't want to control my laptop through my phone. I just want when i stream video to windows to be able to mirror it on my phone. Is there a way for that or for the opposite? I mean from my phone to laptop?
Any help?

Has anyone been able to get the wing to work as a remote control? There are a few programs out.
I know one of the programs is called VITO Remote.
Is it possible?
The Wing does not have infrared, so therefore the Wing cannot be used as a typical TV remote.
I have tried Pocket PCs that have infrared. However the experience was not great because Pocket PCs typically have infrared that was meant for high speed data transfer, not physical distance. So a person had to literally be within 10 feet of the TV in order to control it.
I gave this thought too, but the wing does not have the IR port.
Now if you're talking about a wifi type of Tivo or DVR or some device, then poooossibly.
Although, for me, I watch most movies off the laptop via s video, I also have LogMeIn setup, and my computer has an onscreen remote, I can log into that and press the remote from my wing and it'll respond on my pc and the TV infront of me. But thats kind of pointless since I have a Media Center Laptop with a built in remote, AND a seperate remote that controls everything else and the pc.
bah,
I just wanted to anger one of my professors a bit by turning the TV on/off.
Thanks anyways
hahaha now that you mention that.. i know some kid in my literacy class that shut the projector off every 10 mins until the prof just cut the class short becuase he couldnt present anything X-) that was a classic
not really a "TV" remote but a pc remote using bluetooth I use is here

It links up with most applications really well.

Hi xda users,
since the display of the Nexus 10 will be awesome I'm contemplating getting it because I'd really like to use it as a (second) screen for my computer. Does anyone know if this will be possible? Probably not without, but maybe *with* a mod? Can we use this Miracast Screen Share the other way round possibly?
It'd be really cool to play games on it as well, with the power of my desktop. I wouldn't be able to tell the pixels apart/ wouldn't see any pixelisation. Also this will get rid of the need for antialiasing which will boost performance
Woohoooo
There's an app for that
iDisplay or Splashtop 2
I personally haven't tried them out but they might be what your looking for.
Thanks! Well Splashtop2 is only over Wireless, so it's probably going to be to slow at least for gaming. iDevices with USB support looks better. Does anyone know how bad the latency is (with both)?
Anyway to make the tablet as a video monitor? i/e hdmi IN?
Splashtop2 is pretty good and there is hardly any delay so depending on what you are using it for it might be okay, but it doesn't give you an extra screen just mirrors an existing one. If you want an additional screen you could try airdisplay, haven't tried it for gaming but it might be okay.
Also I have played D3 using Splashtop and besides not being a very good game it worked fine.
OMG that's awesome sauce
OMG that's an awesome idea, the Nexus 10 has resolution comparable to my 30 inch monitor... crazy.
please post to tell us if it worked.
Yeah I'm very interested in this. I tried out Air Display and it worked well, but it had low framerates and some lag.
How can I use the Nexus 10 to replace the cracked screen on my Lenovo E420 laptop?
I will not always have access to a wireless network, so I need to find a solution that is either wired or bluetooth.
I assume a wired connection would be best, followed by bluetooth.
Thanks.

I don't think it's possible to do it wired, because the Nexus 10 has no input port for its display.
Bluetooth as far as I know does not have a protocoll for video transfer, so that's not possible either afaik.
However you might be able to connect them per WiFi Direct oder WiFi Ad-Hoc, meaning you don't need WiFi network on it's own because they connect directly or the Nexus 10 to the Ad-Hoc network, respectively. If your laptop supports WiFi Direct (you can look it up on the WiFi Alliance Website, every product is listed there) you might be able to use Miracast. But you need software for it on your laptop for windows or whatever you use. If you got Android 4.2 on it, then you don't need new software ;P (that's probably not easily achieved, but may be soon when there's an official x86 AndroidOSP Version).
If not, try DLNA. I don't know if Windows or Linux supports it, but I think support is achievable through software.
Good luck and report back if it works!
Does anyone know if its possible to mirror the display of my android device to my touchscreen PC?
I can mirror my phone to my HDMI TV, so if I have HDMI input can I mirror my phone to my touchscreen windows 8 tablet and control it? I have Surface RT, so I am really doubting it, but I would like to know if anyone even knows if this is possible in any version of Windows. What would kick ass, is if you could take a rooted device, plug it in, force tablet mode, and control your phone, and all applications with your tablet. Instead of using Bluestacks emulation, you would think you could just plug your phone in and use it. I assume it would either need to be via USB, or Micro HDMI
also, is it possible to use my Surface RT as an external monitor for my PC? I know I can use an external monitor for my surface, but can you do it the other way around?
Thanks
No, it is not possible.
Root the android device, install a VNC server, and use a VNC client on the desktop to see the Android's output.
Just to note, it won't properly forward touchscreen events for multitouch and the like.
Guys I just got a great idea.
I can play GTA 4 on a N4 with splashtop right?
Thing is I wanna carry around a ultra mini itx PC in my backpack. They can now carry a AMD richland A10 APU that play everything in medium setting and HD resolution. Its great for work because I work split shift with american airlines and the waiting period between shifts can be anywhere from 4 to 6 hours and if the plane delay well even better more time to kill even if its $3 US an hour I make.
But how would you log on in the PC side? would you need a monitor or can you put it to autostart when you press a button and auto login so you can then control it with a phone
because carrying around a monitor defeats the purpose of why I want to build this.

You could have the computer have no login password so it automatically logs in on boot, and put a shortcut to splashtop in the startup folder so it starts when the computer boots. The main issue with it would be getting the computer internet access so that you could actually connect to it
so splashtop needs internet connection?
Remember I work in the airport so I have WIFI internet in both the office and in pizza boys. Ethernet is a no no I only have access to the WIFI password for AA So internet is a non issue for me but if you mean it needs monitor and mouse to connect to the wifi first and then use splashtop I see the issue.
Cant I just autostart it with windows like you said and then control it with my phone from there?
there are monitors in work I could disconnect one and bring my mouse for one day and connect to the wifi and save it? so it always auto connect when the PC starts?
My solution must be cheap and very portable for playing PC games on my N4. This PC must not have any mouse and keyboard and or monitor the only cable it must have is a power.

I recently built a a10 6800k inside a antec isk 300 case just for tbis purpose. The only problem is splashtop doesnt work unless a monitor is attached to the computer. It is so dumb
I was reading about this program from Samsung that could let you use your phone remotely and share your PC mouse and keyboard with the phone, and also show the phone's screen on your computer, and it would be really useful, but for some reason it says it's not compatible with the Galaxy S4. What gives?
I got it to work by downloading the apk and installing it manually, it works perfectly, and it's really useful. You can basically see the phone's screen on your PC and use it with keyboard and mouse, or share your PC's keyboard and mouse with the phone and operate your phone with them.
I wonder why Samsung decided to make the app impossible to find on any store when it works perfectly. But then again it's Crapsung we're talking about here.
