Hi guys, i hope you can help me with this one.
I bought a D802 from AliExpress, but when i tried entering my sim i found out it couldn't get any signal even though it works just fine on my nexus 4.
i tried 2945#*802# to check the sim unlock process and got the next message: "The phone is permanently locked and can not be unlocked".
I can't enter an unlock code even if i want to. It doesn't give me the option. i can only dismiss the message.
I tried factory reset, rom switching, and radio flashing, none of them worked.
I opened a dispute in Aliexpress, but in the meanwhile i want to try and unlock it anyway, and maybe save the trouble of buying a new one and wait for a month all over again.
Can anyone help and maybe knows how to bypass it?

I purchased a used ATT 8525 today and when I use my old ATT sim card, simlock comes up with the message:
"Network is locked, Please input unlock code"
I removed the sim and used HTC_Hermes_SIM_CID_Unlock_v3a which seemed to complete OK, but I still get the message when I boot up with my sim card in.
I've searched the forums and google for hours and can't seem to come up with any answers. ATT won't give me the unlock code because I didn't pay full retail price for the phone...
What to do?
Thanks in advance.
I decided to try it again with a soft reboot followed up by a hard reboot... worked like a charm!
Evening gents,
I wanted to carrier unlock my phone, so I purchased a code from an unlocking site, entered 2945#*802# , then I tapped Network Unlock but I get a message saying "this phone is permanently locked and cannot be unlocked". The phone is brand new and on O2 (uk network) I have never attempted this before, the only thing I have done to the phone recently is root it.
Anyone got any ideas or have I just wasted £7.
Many thanks,
Ady.

Hi,
I just unlocked my LG G2 D803 "originally with rogers" (CAN) using a unlock code that I purchased over the net.
Bell Sim Card now loaded and activated.
Once I restart the phone it says No Service..
I set the APN correctly
Still nothing, and it just keeps looking for the network. Oddly I receive a "New voice mail" notification.. I try and click it and just get.. Warning, emergency calls only.
What could be the issue?
Would downloading a custom rom and installing a new modem do any good?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys
Sincerely,
Royce
For me when I unlocked my phone I had to enter the unlock code twice for the phone to unlock my D803... Just check from the secret menu... All options should say a message about being not personalized

Every one in that "secret menu" says my phone is not personalized. I'm pretty sure this means the phone is unlocked. I noticed other people having the exact same issue after unlocking their phone. Still cant find any solutions.
Solved...
The phones been blacklisted.
Anyone who is having similar issues.. this is most likely the case.
Hey guys, I've had an unlocked LG G2 D802 I used for 2 years, then I gave it to my sister, she uses it in different countries. It worked without problems in Greece, now she's in Italy, she tried to insert an Italian SIM card, but it doesn't recognize it. I told him to type 2945#*802# code in the dialer so she can check if there's a lock or something, now the phone says "This phone is permanently locked and cannot be unlocked". It shouldn't say that as it is factory unlocked, can anyone help me out in this? Thank you.
Close this, a new SIM solved it.
wipe data from factory reset or flash new firmware
Hello. Im trying to use my old k20 on a new network. The doner sim card fuctions fine on 3 other teat devices. However it is not unlocking from Metropcs. Its been in my drawer for a while and can not find the original sim card. Whwn i insert working sim there is no Sim card detected. The Device Unlock app states both Pass and Fail.. What am i missing?
I have this message too, it basically is saying that the unlock fail because you (or somebody else) have already unlocked the device and have applied it. I just unlocked mine because I had forgot that I can so I can sell it, it worked and was approved, so it restarted and when I checked to see what it would say again, it gave me the "Unlock failed, Unlocked approved" message. In all, the phone is unlocked, but idk why it will still show the Metro PCS start up, aswell with all the bloat.

Unlocking the device doesn't automatically remove carrier bloatware and other signage. That's what the stock ROM for the phone will be like when it's bought as carrier locked.
As for the OP question, if the SIM works on other devices but not your K20, and you're sure it's carrier unlocked, have you tried doing a factory reset with the SIM card inserted beforehand? It may just be the stock ROM being stubborn or stuck with previous config data.
