[Q] issues with certain apps on CM RC2

I have a ptt app (tikl) that require phone # to be programmed. but on cm 6.1 it states that the number is unavailable. is there a way i could program that info manually

I did Menu>Settings>Call Settings scroll all the way downZ>Additional Settings>My Phone Number. I put my number in. Then uninstalled and reinstalled TiKL for good measure lol and it popped up with a "Is ###-###-#### your number?" (my number in place of the #'s of course) and I was able to get it working.

thankyou very much worked like a charm just did not uninstall

Since RC2 (i skipped RC1 because the wifi calling issue) many video streams stopped working.....i.e. skyfire (or any other browser) is unable to play any of the 'secrets of the dead on pbs', such as http://video.pbs.org/video/1631639851/ i can hear the audio, but no video is shown...just black.....stock had no problem with these....
i have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled every combination of flash 10.1 (both hulu fixed version and reg) both direct from market and adb, etc...
i am hoping there is a simple solution to avoid wipe, etc....Everything seems great with my rc2, but this flash issue...

i have not had issues with the flash but i did wipe my phone before installing any cm6

Of course I wiped prior to installing RC2....perhaps half of video's that did play do not now...

Main issue I've got with RC2 is that Vignette isn't working right with it. The pictures come out fine, but its when you're viewing the camera trying to take a picture that's the issue - the screen is all cropped up to half the screen size.
Also, there's no option to enable the the camera shutter sound.

Email the Vignette developers about the view problem and they'll send you a test build that fixes it. I'm using this Vignette build on CM RC2 and the viewfinder is perfectly center and undistorted.

Sorry for the ghetto pictures but I only have a webcam in the room right now to take pictures with (since I can't use my phone).

I had the same prob this morning again so it cleared out the number i put it in again and it worked

would someone with a G2 test if RC2 will properly play http://video.pbs.org/video/1631639851/ ...No browser (even skyfire 3.0) can show me the video (although skyfire seems to allows the audio through).....thanks

Aight guys i found the issue for Vignette! To resolve the issue with how the view is cropped while taking a picture, please do this:
Settings - then enable "show full viewfinder" and voila! Issue resolved!

That wasn't available on the previous build, which is why it was such a problem. Glad the update fixes this.
That's how I fixed my viewfinder as well. ^^

My first impressions: Stable, smooth rom, using as daily. Restored all apps, rooted and didnt got any FC.
You can flash cf root, cwm recovery- they are working fine.
New features i have found:
Brightness slider can be disabled
At camera settings you can ” Use the volume key as”
New camera mod “in low light” Improved quality of pictures which are taken in bad light enviroment
Notification bar can be edited
Ink efects with spen on lockscreen
Group cast, google earth apps installed by default
You can disable multiview
Improved swyping with samsung keyboard, something like android 4.2 keyboard swyping
Browser smoother, no more refreshes of bookmarks (still sometimes)
Browser feature- swyping, left or right sideline, up and down makes zoom in/zoom out
Improved stock music player widget while scrolling through the songs list. You wont see "loading" when scrolling up or down quickly like it was on 4.1.1

flash cf root and you will get rooted 4.1.2

that issue is only for 4.2 android, so we will have Christmas (yes there is December at calendar)
yes pretty fast and almost perfect release. No minor bugs, only with that keyboard

Is the internal sdcard beeing wiped during the flash of 4.1.2 with Odin?

i have flashed via mobile odin (have chosen wipe data/cache/dalvik) and it wiped my internal totally, no pics, no game files and etc.

Is flash working on 4.1.2, see reports it does not work for some users.

ow 1 more question: is it we can disable or minimize shutter sound in camera? or like the old one if we want disable the shutter sound, we must entering vibrate / mute mode.

yes for me is working with stock browser, but it has big issue, also had on 4.1.1 When you surf the net a lot especially at sites with a lot of flash elements, browser freezes and closes :/

crashes appears for me randomly, sometimes i dont get any crash for 2 hours, later getting 5 times in 15 min.

My two cents on this rom.
So far i'm loving it. No bugs or crashes, it's fast and battery holds even better then it did with 4.1.1 roms. :good:
New features on camera are great, used to mod just to get that. :good:
The ability to customize the notification screen is great, as it is possible to disable the brightness bar and chose what icons to show on the toggles menu as well as their order. Great feature, another one i used to mod just to get my most used features in there. :good:
All works fine, 3D games (NBA 2k12 & Need for speed Most Wanted and Virtua tennis tested).
Video playing is great, no failure even with 1080p mkv's :good:
Music playing, good but sound is a little crappy even with good headphones, need a lot of work with equalizer. I really don't know why doesn't Samsung provide good sound playing capability and equalizer on a € 700 phone.
Stability, so far it's been great, but it needs a couple more days to be sure. :good:
Overal impression - Very Good
If Samsung makes TW Launcher capable of grid size change I don't think i'll need change a thing on this phone.

If you open the flash application, go to local storage and "clear local storage", set allow local storage to "never" (with 2 gigs of ram you wont need it)
This should solve your browser crashing issues.

also have tried like that, didnt help, something wrong with adobe flash maybe. Also sometimes my chrome on pc freezes of flash. Heard that it can be because of limited flash caches or smt like that :/

Sorry but nothing else occurs to me. I have mine set up like that and it never crashed.
even went http://www.ebizmba.com/articles/best-flash-sites"]here[/URL] and opened all websites, one after the other and all went fine.

hmmmm, maybe also it is related to website flash objects. Because at some sites i have never got that issue, on other sites i get it randomly. Btw can you open http://browsermark.rightware.com/ it gives me freezes always.

On browsermark the browser just closes. It does not force close with error message, it just closes itself at 3/4 of the loading process.

[Q] Viper4android...sometimes doesn't work?

Hi,
I have tried a few roms and always install Viper4android for better sound.
But it never works first time with google music player so i install android music player and it will work in that, but if i switch off my music and try again later, Viper will not work in android music and will switch over to working with google music player?
This is always happening, it's not a big deal, if it's not working in one player it always works on the other player.
Is there any way to fix this?

Install v4a as a system app. (Move the apk to system/apps) and disable MusicFx.
should work now

Viper consumes 5.3 MB of my RAM whether in background or with Playerpro running (I only use it for headphones), so even with your low RAM I'd be surprised if Viper is at fault.
Do you use any other audio enhancements or tweaks?

use titanium backup, convert it to system apps. The reason you cannot move the apps was you forgot to mount the system, data to r/w.

I use pixi music player. Not good even i use no enhancements. Actually my device become slow when i enable viper and when the lights goes out my mobile gets hanged and no solution rather than removing battery to switch off the phone..
I guess enhancement is equaliser yea??

No,, I figued it about three months ago. It was due to low processor and somehow the low ram was also responsible for that...Use of Antutu CPU master so;ved my problem..
Im sorry to post to my another probem here I forgot how to post a ne thread...
My device is rooted and somehow i freeze the update something app via root uninstaller and the problem is recovery mode wont start..I have soft bricked my phone...Can anybody here help??

All i've read online says that the phone supports hdr10.

It is supported, this app feed is utter bs otherwise you wouldn't be able to watch HDR videos on YT.

I am getting the error on the Play Store version so i am trying alternatives.
Moreover i installed the DRM info app and it showed some interesting results
It shows my widevine level is L1 but netflix says it's L3
And the drm info also shows my S10+ doesn't support wide colour gamut and HDR

Are you perhaps rooted? If so, try liboemcrypto.so disabler module.

The widevine level wouldn't have been L1 if my phone were rooted.
The phone isn't rooted does anyone have any solutions for this?

My phone is rooted and I'm on L1 though. According to the screenshot you provided you are stuck on L3. As I said earlier, the output from the DRM Info app is broken. You should trust what's Netflix outputting. I would recommend clean flash if that's a valid option to you. I'm afraid there is no other solution I can suggest. You should be able to install Netflix from the Play Store after you format your phone (give it a few minutes, maybe an hour (at first you might get "not supported" error, that's why you should wait) and do not restore backup yet).

U can try this, it worked for me. Uninstall the Netflix app wait for a while and then download it from the Samsung Galaxy Store. That should work.

Go to settings -> Display and switch the colour profile from vivid to natural. Now test it, it should definitely work ?

Still weird, I'm on exynos s10+ and display is on vivid. No problems with hdr.

Redmi K20 Mic, Speakers, Recorder Not working update

I have redmi k20. 10 days ago an update come for my device. Just after updating, my phone lags . I do a hard reset and after that whenever i use any app, it shows 1. system ui is not working 2. Security is not working 3. Camera is not working and after that i tried custom miui roms to get rid of this. after that everything is solved in miui 12.1.4 but the mic, speaker is still not working. i tried all suggested methods. It works for a day and again i am using it without speaker and mic. bluetooth earphone is also not working.
Kindly someone help me.

Indian MIUI had some sort of bug related to audio. You can try to flash custom ROM with proper firmware, like china or global

Same problem happened with me too. I tried more than 30 ROMs. None worked. I even tried changing the hardware (audio ic And some more ic) didn't worked too. I am hopeless now. It has become like a toy now. If you get any way to fix it. Please update me.

Only ROMs or different firmwares also?

I have searched MIUI forums and someone figured out it's related to google assistant - you have to root and disable google assistant and google search

Hi. im facing the same problem as well after updating. no sound being emitted (videos and calls) and videos are not playing. Also, netflix can't be played. Is there any way to solve this issue? tried rebooting and all. I am not much of tech geek. so can someone pls explain it in lay terms PLS HELP THANKS
