Looks great. Most everything seems to function. There are some graphics issues. Pinch to zoom feature in Google Maps is non-functional and the Market link seems to be broken. I tried installing Google Maps through the Market and it just says "installation failed." I also could not seem to get a fix with gps in maps. The copy-and-paste feature in the browser is not there (expected). This also comes with the HTC stock kernel. Great work!!! I can't wait for more progress to be made on this.

I tried it, found same issues as others. One thing no one mentioned that I saw, were graphical artifacts when selecting icons or typing. Otherwise this is a great start.

I've heard cyanogen is faster than stock 2.1update1 anyone got any screenies of linpack?

also noticed the camera has settings for 1mp 2mp and 3mp and that's it. and cannot add a facebook account, although it was listed. I had no problem with the market, worked just fine for me, however there was one google app that didnt load, not sure what it was, gmail worked fine, gps worked fine for me as well. Looked really nice, when the final version is ready It's going to be hard not to use it!! artifacts in animation of buttons and scrollers was visually the only thing i noticed.

When I ran Linpack, I got anywhere from 6.5 to 7.1 MFLOPS.

Nice...i get around 7.5 mflops on stock on a good run. CM 6 should b good this phone would b the shiz with JIT.

I tried out the Cyanogen Mod last night, and have found pretty much exactly what everyone is saying in here. VERY good initial release! Exactly the Vanilla Android I've been waiting for. I does need some ironing out, so I'm going back to my rooted stock for now. Just hope my internal 8GB isn't totally shot! (I did do a backup, so I should be safe.)

Tried it and it installed successfully but it got stuck on the Nexus splash and never booted. I waited 15 min, took the battery out and went to recovery in nandroid. It was CM5 not 6 on my ROM Manager.

My CM5.0.8 Experience so far:
This is my first Android device, so I'm a bit of a n00b and certainly am still learning, so if anything I say isn't quite...right, that's why. I'm only going off what I've learned so far on a stock HTC Incredible with Sense.
Roms can be found at inc.sodpit.com
EDIT for clarification: This is a 2.1 ROM
So anyway, since I'm too impatient to just wait for 2.2, I tried out CyanogenMod 5.0.8, Jager1.62 and Unrevolved, and CM5 is the one I preferred. Not that I don't appreciate the hard work that went into the others, this one just suited my preferences as far as amount of Sense still incorporated. This one has no Sense. AT ALL. Not the dialer, not the message app, not the browser, nothing. All are stripped-down, bare-bones Android apps, and that's what I wanted. And the boot animation is badass
I'm gonna give it a shot as a daily driver for a few days (I hope CM cooks up a 2.2 within a few weeks) and try to update this post as to what I find. I will try to compare everything to a stock Incredible, to try to be helpful to those of you switching from bone stock.
I'll give the bad news first:
1) Already known, are issues with screen artifacts when typing, sometimes when scrolling (depends on what is scrolling) and occasionally during system animations. It is still VERY liveable, and really doesn't interfere with anything, so I'm fine. I'm sure it will be fixed soon.
2) I have noticed that Pinch-to-Zoom doesn't work in the browser. Double-tapping will have to do for now. Remember, this isn't the Sense-ified browser, as far as I know, it's stock.
3) It says "T-CMDA 64" on the lock-screen and on the Notification list. I personally don't know why, but I dont really care either. Everything works as it should.
4) Coming from the Sense dialer, the stock dialer seems to be lacking a bit...maybe I'll try out Dialer Pro. Similar complaint with the Contacts app.
5) I THINK (I very well could be wrong) that the stock keyboard might be from Sense...but i'm only 50% certain, so don't quote me on it. My issue with the "stock" keyboard that came with this ROM was apparent only in the Market. It would disappear every time I got a notification. For example, I found a few programs I wanted, and started downloading them. As those downloads finished and installed, I would get notifications telling me so. Every time I got a notification, the keyboard would disappear, erasing what I was currently typing (while searching for the next program to download). I remedied this by installing the Droid X Keyboard .apk, which is free, and available in the Incredible Android Development forum. My only issue with the DriodX keyboard is the lack of haptic feedback, but hey, in exchange, you get a very snappy multitouch keyboard, perfect for those of us who want to hit some serious WPM on our androids lol
6) Camera currently only seems to support 3MP. Not sure why this is. I have not tested to see if the pictures taken ARE only 3MP, or if the camera app simply doesn't have 8MP in the options list.
7) My BIGGEST issue (and remember, this is a VERY early build) is that currently, CM5 doesn't support internal storage access. So any music, videos, etc. you might be wanting on your phone will need to be on an SD card.
8) Since internal storage access won the slot for "my BIGGEST issue," the #2 slot goes to non-functional bluetooth. It simply won't turn on.
Now for the good:
1) Like I said, the boot animation is wicked.
2) Stock lock screen is way better than the Sense lock screen. It looks better IMO and allows you to turn off the ringer right from the lock screen. Also, the phone can be brought out of sleep using the optical trackpad, and furthermore, can be unlocked with the optical trackpad. Translation: Pull it out of your pocket, hit trackpad twice and you're in.
3) CM5 comes with ADW.Launcher. Graphically, I prefer it to LauncherPro, but the LauncherPro supports homescreen rotation, so I swapped these out. EDIT: You CAN turn on rotation in ADW.Launcher (if you can get to ADWSettings, which I could not until I installed separate copy from the Market)
4) Came with a few essentials: Superuser Permissions, Terminal Emulator, Wireless Tether, and Dev Tools. Not sure what the protocol on this is, but I would have liked to also see ROM Manager and Astro File Manager preinstalled, but no matter, a few seconds in the Market gets you right where you want to be.
Thats about all for now. I just want to give those sitting on the fence an idea of what they'd be getting into if they wanted to try new ROMS. As always, run Nandroid backup and if you want to transfer your personal data (SMS, cookies, etc) to your new ROM installation, make sure you use Titanium Backup or something to back up your stuff to your sdcard. There are several very good guides on how to install new ROMs on these forums. They worked great for me. Make sure you follow their instructions.

ADW.Launcher supports homescreen rotation. You have to turn it on.

Does CyanogenMod have SU and Busybox cooked in? If you ever flash to a ROM without them, do you have to re-root?

yes it does
if you ever do, restore from nandroid. but any custom rom should have root. would be stupid if it didn't

This isn't a Froyo release is it?

5.0.8 is eclair, CM6 is Froyo (however it's not ready)

EB13 Bugs (And Some Fixes)

Just so you all know I started off with a freshly flashed DI18 .tar.md5 through Odin and a clean microSD card. Without ANY modification I went straight to the stock recovery and used the update.zip to bring me up to EB13. From there I logged in and installed all my apps from the Market. I didn't use any backup programs like TitaniumBackup and didn't restore my data.img from 2.1.
Here are actual bugs that I've confirmed:
Keyboard
* Stock Android keyboard word suggestions still don't work. Install the Gingerbread keyboard off the Market.
Camera
* Laggy Camera & Sports mode FC. Flash a ROM that includes this fix such as the Genocide kernel.
* HD video recording: the stock microSD card is SLOW write speeds causing the camcorder to crash when it can't write to the card. Solution: Don't use 720p.
* Since Android 2.2 and below doesn't natively support multiple cameras, many apps handle the front camera differently causing some programs to rotate the image.
OS Bugs
* Rotation Lag. Fix is in this thread.
* Status bar brightness is MUCH LESS SENSITIVE. Slide your finger slowly WITHOUT pulling the notification bar down.
* Audio Out fixed in this thread.
* Compass is 180 degrees in the wrong direction or erratic. Refer to this post.
Audio
* External speaker is sometimes stuck constantly playing white noise (DSP is running and using necessary battery power). Not sure if related to next issue.
* Annoying white noise is playing through the phone. Using Bluetooth A2DP and normal headphone jack I don't hear it. But I hear it a lot through the media dock.
Touchwiz Browser
* Uses tons of memory 60MB+
* Extremely unstable and slow I can't even believe they released this.
Market
* Many apps are missing from the Market. Protected apps are now showing up.
Modem/Connectivity
* Slow 3G speeds (sometimes 4G). Problem comes and goes. My fix: Airplane mode, use astro to kill all apps, exit airplane mode and wait for 3G, then airplane mode, kill all apps, exit airplane mode. Test with Speedtest.
I'll update with problems I find in this thread that I can confirm personally.
I tested out what would happen if I used the data.img from 2.1 and discovered that any program that synced with contacts would force close (Twitter and Facebook) and my calendars didn't sync.
Other than that everything worked fine for the 20 minutes I played with it.
This means that if you updated from 2.1 without clearing data, expect problems.

Camcorder issues
Basically its laggy out the ass...moving the camcorder around blurs everything...never had that with di18.
On a side note though, editing text fields with swype now is MUCH easier.
And 4g connects WAY faster

The stock Samsung keyboard is actually pretty nice too. I don't remember it being this good, then again, I can't say I ever really used it.

I just tried it out, are you in a room full of light contrasts? Dark to light? lol. It's a the autofocus doing it's job but at an extremely slow pace.

Well I'm having issues with my calendars syncing and Facebook / Twitter keep Force Closing. But I think it's a problem with me restoring my /data partition from 2.1 just to see if it works.

Is dolphin hd fast? :3

Well, I use Dolphin mini on my Epic, and it's pretty snappy. No checkerboarding whatsoever, especially on sites that have checkerboarding with the stock browser.

I tried them all and Dolpin HD is the best and most easy to use and probably the fastest.

Thanx.Dolphin Mini is nice and would be my number one but Dolphin HD is better for now because it automatically hides the tab/progress bar giving you more screen estate,while on Mini its always there-it takes away screen room.

They said on other phones going to 2.2 that if you uninstall and reinstall apps they'll function again. Just like some app updates.

My gps is a fail as well. I am a fan of skyfire browser, dolphin is nice but i just prefer skyfire.

Check the market i updated mine - it was a manual update and in the notes said it included notifications
So far EB13 has been excellent!

[Q] Viper4android...sometimes doesn't work?

Hi,
I have tried a few roms and always install Viper4android for better sound.
But it never works first time with google music player so i install android music player and it will work in that, but if i switch off my music and try again later, Viper will not work in android music and will switch over to working with google music player?
This is always happening, it's not a big deal, if it's not working in one player it always works on the other player.
Is there any way to fix this?

Install v4a as a system app. (Move the apk to system/apps) and disable MusicFx.

Its not running smoothly. Usually when i lock the phone or when the screen goes off it seems hanging...Id appreciate if anyone can solve this pro.

Viper consumes 5.3 MB of my RAM whether in background or with Playerpro running (I only use it for headphones), so even with your low RAM I'd be surprised if Viper is at fault.
Do you use any other audio enhancements or tweaks?

use titanium backup, convert it to system apps. The reason you cannot move the apps was you forgot to mount the system, data to r/w.

I use pixi music player. Not good even i use no enhancements. Actually my device become slow when i enable viper and when the lights goes out my mobile gets hanged and no solution rather than removing battery to switch off the phone..
I guess enhancement is equaliser yea??

No,, I figued it about three months ago. It was due to low processor and somehow the low ram was also responsible for that...Use of Antutu CPU master so;ved my problem..
Im sorry to post to my another probem here I forgot how to post a ne thread...
My device is rooted and somehow i freeze the update something app via root uninstaller and the problem is recovery mode wont start..I have soft bricked my phone...Can anybody here help??

This would help periodically check for new Nightlies and download only the delta changes instead of the full nightlie ROM.
Cyandelta also allows you to flash additional files along with delta update like - gapps, SuperSU, kernels or other mods.

I know, I asked for known bugs, I know there are bugs but I want to know if the old bugs (buttons backlight stays, audio glitches etc.) still exists.

Flashed onto multi ROM. Works as a secondary. But missing a lot of the features I use so not going to use as daily yet.

is stable, the audio and volume work very well, the camera has poor quality and only records video up to 1080p (I install the camera cm11s because the stock does not work) is very good but lacks much customization

USB Computer Connection Issue CM12 Nightly
I am unable to choose the USB Computer connection mode in the latest official nightly. Anyone have the same issue? If you untick the MTP then you are no longer be able to connect to computer

4k dci works with camera next. All video sizes work, only 4k uhd not

mine stops working after pressing stop.. it will say unfortunately stop.. maybe ill try clearing cache and data ..

If you use English as your system language you'll notice that the same page lacks the "External USB part" and thus you can't safely unmount any USB storage connected via OTG. Other languages are fine.

mine stops working after pressing stop.. it will say unfortunately stop.. maybe ill try clearing cache and data ..

[Q] Playback Bug Sph-L720 OD2/Lollipop

has anyone experienced any issues with videos either captured with your camera, videos stored on your phone/sdcard/ext-sdcard or online? (e.g. youtube, vimeo, amazon-video, online html5 or java based video player, flash player via dolphin web browser). the issue is that video freezes and skips in videos that were recorded with the phones camera, or mp4 media files. But audio continues to play. However online sometimes 5 to 30 seconds into the video it completly freezes, and the audio continues to play. I do not know what is causing this to happen. I have read about similar situations with other Samsung devices running lollipop. i have experienced this with every version of tw lollipop running, stock non rooted and rooted, non modified and modified, deodexed and odexed, cwm, twrp and odin, and on 2 sph-l720s.

No none of that. Everything working fine here. I haven't heard of these problems. Links?

Not really common at all. I have access to a s4, note 3,s5 and note 4 with none of those problems as far as I can tell. I don't use all of those sites or apps. I do you use YouTube, Netflix, instagram, show box , and tubemate with videos working online and off. Did you take their advice and factory reset? Try clearing the multimedia proxy settings to zeros? You can't really complain about flash working as it hasn't been supported by Android for a long time. That's on dolphin. Try the latest jetpack beta. And what about the stock browser, chrome or Firefox? Non flash videos work better with them than dolphin in my experience. Espn is one example of that. I emailed dolphin about it and they said they're looking into it.

there is a video playback problem going around with lollipop its not just me, and it is not just online.

i did everything imaginable... well maybe not everything LOL... but i have wiped factory reset i have wiped cache partition i have wiped dalvik cache. it is a kernel issue. i have used other kernels that have no video problems but have other problems.

Try flashing the stock kernel? Wiping everything including internal memory?

Just sold it a few days ago. Only have a s4 mini as a backup to my Note 4 now. My son's s4 doesn't have any of those problems nor does his sister's s4. Both are original and on lollipop.
