[Q] Voicemail turned off and I can not turn back on. - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just realized, after about 4 months, that I haven't been getting voicemails. Upon searching I found my voicemail app turned off but the "turn on" button is greyed out and I can not turn it back on. Any idea how to get this back on? Here is a screenshot. Thanks in advance.

i did the same thing with the visual vm service cause it wasnt working and i tried freezing and unfreezing.. but it wouldn't unfreeze. i had to download an app called APP QUARANTINE.. which was the only one that reenabled it (with root).. dunno why but it worked. the option to "turn on" wasn't available for some reason.

Cannot turn off voice caller ID read out

A friend of mine has a fascinate with the latest OTA update. He has somehow turned on a voice caller ID readout and cannot turn it off. I have gone through every setting in the phone and cannot figure out what to turn off. The car dock is off, and I have checked the box that said something like "always use my settings" and yet its still on. I have searched through Google and found other people with the same issue, and no resolution. Has anyone here had this problem? And what did you do to fix it? Thanks.

Wi-Fi always turning itself on?? :(

Last night I installed a few toggle widgets. First for auto rotation then for sound profiles then the Bluetooth one and in the end for Wi-Fi.
However after installing the Wi-Fi widget.. I noticed Wi-Fi would turn itself on without even asking my permission. This I noticed when I woke up today morning and saw an unexpected amount of battery drain. I immediately checked and the Wi-Fi was on. I remember correctly that I had switched it off in night (which comes under my daily habits after hitting the bed). Anyhow I immediately got rid of that widget by uninstalling but issue still persists.
Can anyone suggest anything to stop phone from turning Wi-Fi on itself?
Below is the app and my Wi-Fi's advance settings.

By the way.. I must add.. My phone is totally stock. And I I have had no problems with any of the apps prior to installation of this widget.

Sometimes apps like this can be a little flaky. I have HD widgets that I use to turn on my wifi and it can misbehave also. I have compensated by having a app that turns the wifi off at a particular time of day. You can also set it to turn wifi off when the screen is off. Other than that I would suggest looking for a widget that works better. There is a ton out there.
It was my bad that I downloaded this widget. I don't want to download some app to ''manage'' Wi-Fi setting off. I want to make it how it was prior this widget installation... Turning on and of myself. Is there any way.... Without the help of another app or widget

I think i need to change KEEP WIFI ON DURING SLEEP option to Never.
Can anyone attach a snapshot of his advance settings in wifi option? Like i have attached above
I believe it's the "battery guru" app you have installed... that's primarily what it does, keep you on Wi-Fi as much as possible

Emmmm.. You sure?
Because it started last night after I installed that widget. It "never" happened before that. :s
Can u post ut advance settings page's screenshot? Just need to match settings.
Pretty sure... it was happened to me, I noticed it after the learning mode was completely

So far I think this was the cause.. Snapdragon BatteryGuru.
Go to the settings in BatteryGuru and turn OFF the "Manage Wi-Fi" option. It's been an hour I have turned it off and wifi hasn't turned itself on. Therefore, I believe this option was causing wifi to show up.
I remember a friend of mine turned this option ON (the same day when I installed that wifi toggle). I just realized that after reading QUIETLYloud's post. Thanks a bunch mate.
This will help people in future.

For anyone using a Pebble smartwatch

I noticed that the Note 3 suffers from the same Talkback bug that older builds of the GS4 had. After connecting my Pebble and enabling accessibility settings, it disables a bunch of TouchWiz features (which you can turn back on) and turns on voice feedback (in browser, you get "page loading" and "page loaded" when browsing).
I was able to defeat this by rooting and then using Titanium backup to freeze Talkback and Samsung TTS services. Everything else is working normally.
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 didn't have this issue. I wish Samsung would find this bug and squash it once and for all.

My galaxy gear did this to me also. There is a few options to turn it off as I did mine. Sadly I don't remember what they were. I'll look around and see what I can come up with for those of us that don't want to root
Edit: accessibility settings is where you can turn it off scroll down to talk back and turn it off. For mine I had to double tap the on/off button for it to actually turn off. I also had to turn off the fb quick view for it to completely go away. Hope that helps

WiFi message

Whenever I am on wifi i get a constant connect message like it just reconnected. Is that normal? is it actually disconnect/reconnecting? or is it just reminding me its connected? does anyone know or have the same experience? Thanks
Good question, same thing happens to me
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
I do too. I believe it's actually disconnecting and reconnecting.
Make sure that wifi isn't set to turn off when the phone is sleeping (screen off)

I also experience this. I have "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" set to "Always". Now after 5 days or so, I'm getting "Your Internet is unstable" messages. Internet is fine for all other devices.

Thanks for your replies. So far I am thinking this is a bug or fault. It seems when I am trying to connect to Google Play many times while this thing keeps restarting the wifi radio, it also shows a "not connected, please retry" message as well.or it just kind of 'hangs" hehe yep kind of in an unready state upon delivery im guessing well i actually think its a touchwiz issue more so than an aosp problem...
It also happened to me but I went on to uncheck "Wi-Fi notifications" in the Advanced settings in Wi-Fi and it stopped notifying me every time it "reconnected" if that's actually what it's doing.

And you sir are a genius. Thank you so much
The point is two fold, stop the notification and find out why it constantly disconnecting

Ok, I have a rooted Verizon Note 3 with Beans ROM on it. In the ROM, it appears to have some version of the Wanam Xposed. In every possible selection either in the phone settings, Beans, or Wanam, I have de-selected or selected turning that stupid notification off. I found one thread on the forum with a flash/.zip file, but it is no longer there. Can someone help me turn this off?.....

No wifi

Guys I'm trying to fix my daughters phone, I've looked around and I tried a few things to no avail.
The issue is the phone is on 4.4.2 nb1 from an ota update. The phone used to be my sister in law's. Before she gave it to my daughter she did a factory reset and now Bluetooth and WiFi both won't turn on. No matter what you do.
I tried to Odin a stock nb1 image to see if maybe the ota update was corrupted or something but it only starts and runs for like 2 seconds before it will just hang and do nothing.
Any ideas?

Has anyone ever had a problem to where the WiFi wouldn't turn on?

Try turning wifi power save mode off. Dial *#0011#, press menu then wifi and then switch it off and see if it does anything.
