[Q] Galaxy S4 I9505 Wont Work With My Sim - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys
ive got a galaxy s4 but its not accepting my EE uk sim card
when I put the sim card in and boot the phone it says no sim card is inserted
but if I put Vodafone or 3 UK or even 02 in it works and gets amazing signal
any ideas whats going on ?

Does the EE SIM work in other phones?

Hi yes the ee sim works fine in my other phone
It seems like only ee/T-Mobile/orange don't work all the other networks work no problems

Take it to an EE outlet and have them check the IMEI to ensure it's valid on their network. From there, have the SIM replaced.

Hi thanks for the reply ee checked imei number and its fine
Its like it don't detect any ee sim being in the sim slot
But all the others work

Try this

Jason, I had the same "No SIM inserted" error after rooting and reinstalling a ROM. Hopefully this solution (very simple, by the way) will work for you:

Same issue
I have this exact same issue!
Any other SIM works in my device, but the EE sim does not.
The EE sim works in any other device. It just doesn't work in my S4...
Any idea on how to fix?

guys this was never resolved for me no matter what I did Samsung had a look at the phone and said it was fine so had no idea why it wouldn't take my ee sim
so I sold it on and moved to the note 3

If u put ur local SIM in and reboot and it does not ask for unlock code that means phone is unlocked. Have u tried different SIM? Do you see any signal above. Check phone IMEI. If not present you have other issues.

Umm, i haven't tried a different sim from my local place here, but , i tried to use the sim from the area that i bought this phone from (indonesia) and it works fine.
However , when i put my local sim , there's a signal but it has an "r" letter on the signal and no 3G, i have uncheck the roaming
I will suggest you try a different sim from your local place. I had similar problems when I bought my S5 SM G900F. It turned out the sim was deactivated. Also you want to be sure its not a 4G sim as that certainly might pose a problem.

[Q] Weird problem with unlocked S4 LTE

Hi! first poster here.
I've just got this phone wich was recently unlocked from TELCEL MEX carrier. The weird thing here is that the phone work flawlessly with any domestic carrier sim cards, but not with my US T-Mobile sim card.
I've test this T-mobile sim card with other unlocked phones (Galaxy S4 i9500 and Alcatel Pop) here in México without problem, but in the S4 above mentioned asks for sim unlock code.
The cell phone is SGH-I337M with KitKat 4.4.2. and firmware CSC code TCE
Thank you very much in advance!
This may be relevant or not.
My previous phone was an HTC Desire S on O2UK.
O2UK give you a free unlock on all contract phones after 6 months and send a code by email to you.
Any time I tried changing sims to a different carrier it asked for the unlock code, except when it was Tesco Mobile UK.
It may be that the original carrier requires you to input the unlock code for anything other than certain providers.
I tried to get an unlock code for my I9505 LTE but they said it was factory unlocked so can't speak about the phone specifically but with the Desire S, also on O2UK, had a similar issue.
I've got the pin code
Thanks for your input, sure it's relevant.
I have the unlock code for the T-mobile sim card, but of course it's not recognized by the phone (or sim card?)
In the other phones tested the process was straight forward, just inserted sim, boot up and voilá.
Went to the Telcel's service center but the person there confirmed that it's unlocked.
I'ven reading about a "Regional Lock" of some Samsung devices, but i realy can tell if this the case.
Anybody else having this kind of issue?
Region locking I don't believe has anything to do with this. When the phone was unlocked, the region locking should also have been removed.

S7 Edge G935-FD Dual SIM problem

Hello guys. This is my first Samsung device. It's network locked here in the Philippines and I flashed UK firmware to get Nougat update. Since thre is an official update available now in our country, I flashed the firmware downloaded from sammobile with CSC SMA (philippines Smart). The problem is, SIM 2 is not working for a different SIM card (ex. Globe). Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Before only SIM 1 is Network locked and SIM 2 is openline. Now they are both Network locked.

As far as I know, Dual SIM phone has issues when trying to unlock the phone. they are problematic and sometimes they refuse to work. I recommend you take it to Samsung assistance, maybe they can do something with your firmware and make the phone work again.

Galaxy S8 US Cellular

Hi .
I have bought a S8 locked to US Cellular on eBay, clean , not blacklisted and when I try a SIM card from my operator does not ask for unlock pin code and remains without registering on my network.
Does anyone know any website or any method to unlock It?
Many thanks in advance.

Does it have a unlock app in apps drawer or in settings. It may be unlocked. If ure sim works. WhT carrier you on.
Thanks for your answer.
I live in Portugal and I tried 2 different SIM cards. The phone shows in upper left screen the message "SIM blocked". I searched for an unlock app too but I can't find any like in T-Mobile phones I bought in the past.
US Cellular is a CDMA network provider whereas in Portugal you probably have only GSM networks.
I think you should look into this and investigate this issues as well.
Another info: I flashed with Odin with the latest USC official Rom from sammobile. Can be this the cause?
This is 950U version and therefore has the GSM frequencies as well.
Even if it was only cdma it would prompt to insert the network unlock code....
Any help?
WHen I put a sim card it appears a forbidden sign on the top, where I should see the network signal...
