This post is related to an earlier post of mine and another one I post on andriod.stackexchange. I need help wiping an LG Optimus L5 (E612) in Safe Mode. The Mobile device constantly reboots and returns to state it was in on December 25.
What I have noticed, however, is that it stabilises when I boot it in Safe Mode (Power -> Volume- & Volume+ keys). I even have full root access when in Safe Mode.
I have tried the following without any success:
'wipe data'; 'wipe all' as root---device returns to previous state after rebooting
Normal factory reset---nothing happens
Factory reset using hardware keys (Power + Volume-)---device reboots after five seconds and returns to previous state
Manual purge of data in Safe Mode---device returns to previous state after rebooting
Someone suggested a KDZ flash; I successfully did this multiple times---device returns to previous state after rebooting
I tried 'adb reboot bootloader' and did a 'fastboot erase'---device reboots after a few seconds
Could it be that my now one+ year-old LG Optimus L5 is dead or is there anything else I can do to save it?

found a solution that might work :
flash a new base rom
download kdz and open it
switch off your phone and remove battery/sim/microsd press vol- (or both vol button) and connect your phone to the pc throught the usb(if not find the phone continue pressing the volume while connecting the usb)
in kdz set type: 3gqct and phone mode: DIAG, if not find the phone try EMERGENCY or CS_EMERGENCY and select the firmware.kdz
Download kdz_updater from here

Download the CORRECT firmware from here

Yep, i tryed it, but firstly doesnt work, got same problem. Then i installed LG Mobile Support tool and flashed the original recovery from there (search with IMEI code), after that, flashed again kdz got from the same site you posted, again got the same issue, then i started it in hard reset mode, then worked..
Just took the Lollipop OTA update from stock 4.4.2. Upon completion my phone rebooted and is stuck on the LG boot logo. I tried entering download mode (holding volume up button and plugging phone into computer) but my phone doesn't enter it. Attempting to power off the phone doesn't work either, since the phone just powers off for a second and turns back on to the boot logo. I tried factory reset (power + volume down) and after proceeding with the reset the phone is still stuck on boot logo. I've tried the Linux method here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48765620#post48765620 ) but when I enter the first command (ls /dev/sd*) I don't get a sdb where the device is detected.
What should I do?
same problem here, not with OTA update.
No Factory Reset available, no recovery mode, only download mode. Same as you with Ubuntu i find nothing...
Flashtool stop working after S/W at 9 %
Stuck on the LG logo ...
Help needed :/
please give me some help:
Phone condition:
-LG G2 D802 16 GB
- original jelly bean stock rom, non rooted, no custom recovery
- when i update via OTA.... and after finish my phone restart and goes into bootloop
- vol Up + usb = go to stock recovery... sooo there is no download mode
- wipe cache and hard reset from stock recovery menu --> can not fix the bootloop
- vol down + power double press go to phone hard reset --> cant fix the bootloop
- not detect by PC in stock recovery mode or hard reset mode
- PC only detect as android adb when go to adb sideload from stock recovery
- instal adb and fastboot ....
---- when i try adb sideload update.zip --> cannot read update.zip
---- adb command such as adb reboot, adb reboot fastboot--> result error : closed
maybe usb debugging mode is uncheck because it still unmodified original rom
- lg support tool not detect my device
dear all ....
Is there any idea to fix this.........
google this lg g2 unbrickable now xda
My asus zenfone max pro m1 has not been booting since the april 21st update.
It boots completely, asks for pattern to decrypt storage and irrespective of whether or not i enter the pattern, it reboots. Looks like some system services are failing after boot and hence i need to wipe or clean flash the system partition.
Situation:
This is my dad's phone and it wasn't tampered with at all. Unfortunately boot loader is locked and usb debugging is off.
None of my 2 laptops detect it in fastboot or adb in windows and linux. I've installed proper drivers but it doesn't even show up in device manager as unknown or whatever.
It normally enters fastboot and recovery modes.
I did the root integrity check from recovery and it reported 92 files missing and 90 unknown files.
What i tried:
Reinstalling the same update through recovery (makes no difference)
Installing older updates ( recovery doesn't allow)
Factory reset through recovery (makes no difference)
flashing via fastboot (fastboot doesn't detect)
The only thing i did not try is qfil and I'm not doing that because a lot of people have reported losing their IMEI and other hardware information.
Also, I couldn't find a stock qfil firmware they were stock based made by other people.
Asus's update broke the phone. But I don't see a lot of people posting about it. I could use some help.
Thank you
Can you boot to safe mode ?
(Long press power button - then long press on power off)
Doesn't work

Click to collapse
Safe mode makes no difference. Even factory resetting made no difference.
Hi,
I'm stuck in a boot loop of my OnePlus 5 (A5000, product name msm8998 - msm UFS) with stock rom. Also stock recovery and bootloader locked, secure boot: yes
Already tried:
- Button combos (Volume up/down while starting, forced restart (vol up+power))
- In Stock Recovery Mode i can sideload. Tried to sideload latest OTA from OP5 website, success, restart, still bootloop (adb devices only shows device in sideload mode)
- Fastboot mode does not list device (adb)
- Tried to wipe cache / reset system settings
The sad thing is that I can see my folders / data if "install from internal storage" is chosen, so I know it's still present.
Any hints?
Is there any possibility to get my data off the phone with OnePlus stock recovery and/or sideload? (adb pull throws "error: closed")
Thank you all for helping!
No ideas? That seems bad news for me as all data will be lost in that case.
Anybody got some hints where you could point me to find additional ways I could try?
