Hello,
Few days ago, I flashed my galaxy s5 (SM-G900F) to lastest poland 5.0 update using odin. Now when samsung started to push update in other countries I wish to get it OTA so I considering to downgrade back to my original 4.4.2. Croatian firmware. Now I am asking you is that even possible and how ? I read some comments on internet how people brick ther s5 if they try to flash older firmware via odin, other say that are succeeded si now I am little confused?

I've already done it 2 times, without any problems
1. Find your Firmware and download
2. Flash via ODIN
3. Boot into Recovery -> Factory Reset
4. Reboot device
That's all

You lost your warranty mate. If you ever flash anything with Odin (except official firmware), you tripped flash counter.
You most probable have I9500 Indian phone and there is no way to reset hidden flash counter. Triangle Away do not work on I9500.
But yes, you will be able to download updates from kies. No problem with that as long as you do not root and keep status official.

Official stock firmware does not trip counter. But how did you get CWM on your phone? By flashing CWM recovery with odin. Right. So it tripped counter.

You cannot, that's why it's HIDDEN flash counter. Right now there is no way to read flash counter or reset it.

Does not matter since it's GT-I9500. Although Samsung do not offer international warranty. Warranty is valid for UAE only and you might claim it if you are able to convince them about flash counter.
Can you check if you have GT-I9500, if you have GT-I9505 then you might have some hope.

I don't see a reason why you cannot. But the only issue you might face is with CSC, localization and modem which you can flash separately later. But apart from that you will be fine.
I think you should get updates and there should not be any problem as long as you keep your device official (no root, no cwm, no flashing), but I cannot confirm this because I have never tried.
Hi all,
I tried to downgrade my S4 from the stock 4.3 to the 4.2.2 using odin. Odin success without any error.
Phone rebooted, but stuck with the Samsung logo.
Did I just brick my phone?
Any help? Thanks.

Did you do a factory reset BEFORE doing the ODIN flash downgrade to 4.2.2 ?
If not you need to do that and reflash using ODIN.
Also be 100% sure that you are flashing the correct and specific model/baseband
version of the 4.2.2 stock firmware for your phone.
Only use/download ODIN flash stock official firmware from: http://sammobile.com
for best results.
Good luck!

I would factory reset my phone but I would still get a error, does the process only work with the international version of the S4? because as far as t-mobile, I don't think we have any luck in downgrading to 4.2.2

all you need is reflash official 4.3 firmware using odin. once updated to 4.3 it is impossible to downgrade to official 4.2.2.
so just reflash 4.3 official again and your device will boot up. i myself faced this problem .

You've most likely got the KNOX bootloader due to this you can not downgrade to an earlier version of an official rom. Custom rom's should work fine not sure about 4.2.2 roms.

Hello!
I got some questions regarding updating to lollipop.
Im running G900F stock android 4.4.2 with root (knox 0x0) right now (Build ANE2) and Im planning to upgrade using http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/official-lollipop-5-0-sm-g900f-t2962141 guide.
My questions are:
1. Do I need to unroot first?
2. Can I install "Poland" version if I dont live there? Will it affect anything?
3. If I update this way, will it affect my apps?
4. can I recieve OTA updates afterwards (when they come out)?

No you don't need to unroot
Yes you can install Poland version it is safe
If you flash through odin it won't wipe anything
Yes you will receive OTA but only from Poland, but you can when it will be avabivable again flash lolipop for your country

Backup everything.
Flash just the firmware with ODIN. (Untick Auto reboot)
Boot in recovery.
Wipe Data/ Cache
Boot.
PD: If you want to upgrade later to a rooted version of L with knox 0x0, you need to make sure you downgrade to a 4.4 firmware supported by towelroot... (Like ANE2)...

First you need to downgrade to a 4.4.2 firmware supported by towelroot (Like ANE2)
In order to do this, you just need to flash the firmware through PC ODIN, no extra files. Just be sure to make a WIPE DATA/CACHE in recovery before booting after flash. (Disable auto-reboot option in ODIN)
Then root with towelroot (won't trip knox).
Then download the last version of MOBILE ODIN PRO.
When you're done with this, ask me for further steps I'll answer you in a sec, I just don't have time to write full instructions now sorry.

Yea you can upgrade if you go back to KK
If factory resetting fails to fix it, just flash the stock Lollipop ROM you are already running using ODIN
Grab the ROM from sammobile . com

Okay I am sorry, I am a total noob at this, can you please guide me which exact firmware i need to download? a stock lollipop one
I did the *#1234# thingy and i got these
AP: G900FXXU1BOC7
CP: G900FXXU1BOC7
CSC: G900FITVBOC1
please guide me to the right firmware, I would be so grateful. I just want to un-root my phone, maybe S health will work for me then.
Thanks
You only need to find firmware for the G900F, and your country
So pick the newest from sammobiles firmware section for those two above criteria
Fyi flash OA6 not OD3 or OF6, or OG1. The last two will cause you hassles with other things.

I had lolipop 5.0.1 SM-G900F yesterday and I can tell you that I succeed on downgrade. I now have 4.4.2 but there is one problem, Towelroot don't work anymore so if you want to downgrade your software you can do it by downloading it from sammobile. If you want root it without knox you probably don't find any solution, if you want to mind hit knox you can use chain-fire. I could not find anything that will root it without hiting knox.

Just downgrade to the latest 4.4 with ANE2 Baseband - so Towelroot will work without any problems.
If you are on 5.1.1 you cannot downgrade, downgrade was possible on 5.0.x

Joe is your phone rooted? I have the same exact same phone and have successfully rolled it back. If not rooted, here are some links to help you out and then you can flash whatever rom you like. If you are on OG6 use this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...t/root-kernel-root-method-fog6-5-1-1-t3178077 or if you are on OF6 use this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...t/root-kernel-root-method-fof6-5-1-1-t3158005 After getting root, flash a custom recovery like Philz Touch or TWRP and flash whatever rom you're looking for. Here is also a link to the T-Mobile section of this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s5/development Everything you need is there.
