[Q] S4 wi-fi not active after update

Hello, it is 1 month that I bought the s4.
Until recently, no problem,
but after upgrading from 4.2.2 to 4.3 gave me problems to wi-fi..
wi-fi does not active,
I press to activate, but not active.
I already tried to do the factory reset but nothing is not working
pleas help me....!

Have you flashed any custom roms on your device? Also what version is your S4? (I9500,9505...)

Remove battery for one minute and insert it again, go into download mode, then flash your firmware again. If this will not help then you must flash wifi fix for your rom revision (it is simply modem files only). sometimes when flashing 4.3 modem files do not stick/flash thats why your wifi is not working, you can check if it is true in system info where modem version is shown, if it is different than flashed firmware... thats why wifi is not working).

dude if u have gurantee and u aint voided just take it to them they will fix it

HELP my N9005 bugs after I flash stock firmware

DAY 1: My phone bootloops when i flashed a modem. So I flashed a firmware base on my country (Philippines N9005XXUEND6). I used odin 3.09 for flashing, did check the FRESET TIME, AUTOREBOOT, AP BOX and BOOTLOADER UPDATE.. It was successful but on the homescreen, "setup wizard has stopped" flashes on screen so I factory reset via stock recovery, then it runs ok.. Set up is done,. But another problems are:
1. entering camera, it shows black screen then says "warning: camera failed".
2. entering the phone dialler it takes seconds to respond
3. music is freezes
4. unlocking the phone it takes seconds to open
5.wakelock takes seconds also to respond
6. no sound
N9005XXUEND6 is the firmware I flashed.
DAY 2: I flashed a different firmwares XXUEND5, XXUENB4, but i notice that i after flashing, no setup wizard in the homescreen. It is the same settings,wallpaper and i have the messages and conversations in my inbox. It looks like the firmware didnt update but i look up in the baseband and build version it does change.. A friend of mind says that after flashing a firmware setup wizard must pop on the screen but mine doesnt.HELP ME MASTERS.. Im losing hope..
I cant figure out the problem, my drivers is installed, i have the firmwares, odin 3.09, and all required tools for flashing
please help me masters.. I did trying reflash the firware and do the reset, the problem persist.. thanks in advance

I have a similar problem, but I think yours is much more simpler hopefully
You find the data unchanged because you didn't do a factory reset
To do so, turn off your phone then open recovery mode by pressing VOLUME+, HOME & POWER buttons together until it opens
Choose Wipe Data/ Factory Reset --> Yes
then reboot your phone
My phone turned out to have a RAM problem and still haven't fixed it, it will cost me a lot especially that I voided my warranty because I rooted the phone

If you could fix it don't forget to tell us about it
BTW I found a post online that says the problem could be due to separated camera from the motherboard
So if you don't have warranty as myself you should get it to maintenance service and tell them to check the camera

- Sir before i flash the modem, the phone works flawlessly but when it bootloops and i flash a stock firmware the other day the problem began to appear..

What is your Knox Warranty Void status ?
if it's still 0x0, you should send it to Samsung service

You need to be rooted
It's an AOSP ROM without Samsung Touchwiz ..

Hey, did you burn plywood the correct version of rum for your device? Moreover, you must make fool wipe, what version you had before making the root? That if there is a 4.3 to try to go back to 4.4.2

You said you tried updating the firmware of your region and the problem persists .. You should let someone flash the software using a BOX (not just using odin) (preferably go to Samsung)
if it's not solved then it's most probably a hardware problem .. I didn't drop my phone either but that's not necessary

Hello guys what is described up is happening same to me ... tryied to update firmware from sammobile with a stock firmware Vodafone Romania and Odin show me some new lines when it updates like NON NHUL and a TGZ ZT etc ... suddenly failed to update .. and the phone freezed ... messagge was FAILED to update .. I did a restart and the two comps showed and the text : failed to upgrade firmware etc etc ... try use emergency firmware update trough kies ... restarted V Down +home +power : ) tryied to reinstal my fisrt NC2 Poland firmware succeded but
1. no sound
no camera
no music I guess That is a problem with the new Firmware ?Q? Probably we can ask MR. Chainfire or someone hwo knows ? I tryied all things ... but nothing happened even to restore data from kies /backup/trough Odin reflash old backup with TRP/CWM.
ANY ADVISE ? Never download even from sammobile or sammupdate if they say is ok if you never saw someone hwo succes
NEWS : I've noticed that suddenly when try to update again my Note3 shows only one language Chinese , probably becouse this new update NF at the end is for chinese exinos ????

When i receive a call the phone shows answer/reject mode ..when i answer the phone become black screen amd keep vibrate.
Trying to call ...the phone call wizard has stoped wait/stop.
Things solved : Again can send and receive sms/mms

Pit file euro open worked. I'm still having problems .
I checked. Again to see ...i tryied to install a singapore firmware nf6 I guess that was the problem.

I saw now the CSC is XSP this is the only prb but also is csc free no bloatware.also you can root back again and you can restore your old settings except :
1. CSC settings and APP settings that camed with your original firmware
2. when insert your sim back you will be notified to update internet settings to your provider ( for me Vodafone RO) , you can change them back to google.com . is ok THX for your apreciation.

i9505 know and wifi issue

Got an S4 i9505 and I believe it was running 4.2.2. I rooted it with CF Auto Root and everything was fine,
A few days ago, little one messed around and accidently managed to install 4.3 update. Now wifi cannot be enabled giving an error that "your device security has blocked an action that is not permitted"
Clicked on SuperSU and it said that knox has been found and some applications may not work,,,,,decided to disable it and disabling it was successful.
Even now when I try to turn the wifi on, it doesnt work but dont get the above message anymore.
Any help would be appreciated as it's driving me mad.

Hi ,
My first option would be to try the so call wifi fix, read here:

select the same wifi fix as the modem you have installed in your phone ( read first , ask there if there is any doubts)
Second option would be to flash stock rom again and root .

I'm not able to switch on wifi on my I-9505. When I try, the wifi icon triggered on then off a few seconds after.
I was using Stock Android 4.4.2 (XXUGNG8). I tried :
- to change ROM : Stock Lollipop, Routed Lollipop with custom Recovery, CM12.1,
- to change modem,
- to change ro.secure storagesupport=false in build.prop
- to deactivate wifi power safe mod in Service Mod.
- to delete wpa_supplicant.conf
Finally, I turned back to Stock 4.4.2
I don't know what to do more. Any idea someone ?

Dial *#1234# (in stock rom) and tell me what appears.

(I flashed back to stock with PDA and PIT files)

Try flashing just the modem in Odin. You can extract it from your Android 4.4.2 firmware package. Sometimes you have to flash the modem more than once for everything, including WiFi, to work properly.

Clean the connectors of the wifi module. I'm guessing that it's hardware since you already tried all the software related stuff.

@Lennyz1988: Except he's back on stock 4.4.2 and now the WiFi isn't working. That's why I mentioned flashing the modem a second time. But if it doesn't work, then your suggestion is definitely the next step.

I flashed modem 3 times and the wifi still doesn't. As you guys said, I think the problem is hardware related now. Anyway, thank to all for taking time to answer to me !

Wifi trouble

So i decided to upgrade my Note3 N9005 to Lollipop Android 5.0 .. and i got an official Rom form sammobile ( N9005XXUGBOB6_N9005XEOGBOA4_XEO) ... every thing was running perfectly till i successfully loaded the rom using odin ... the wifi toggle in the first setup was grayed out ,so i skipped all of those steps .. entered the settings and found that when i slide the wifi toggle on , it only turns to grey , and nothing happens at all
so i booted recovery and made a factory reset and deleted cache .. but nothing happened .. then i reflashed the Rom , yet nothing happened. and i tried almost every solution i found online .. i flashed modem files , got a custom kernel , i even flashed another lollipop version , but nothing happened , so i thought desperately that rolling back to kitkat 4.4.2 might get my problem solved , yet nothing happened ,, the wifi toggle never turns the wifi on .. so i thought that it might be a hardware error .. but the bluetooth is running smoothly on both lollipop and kitkat so obviously it is not a hardware error
i'd appreciate any help getting my wifi back alive please

Wifi chip got broken during flash. Go and change it.
