Ok first I am not new to android or this great site here at xda. I have been using this site for many years I just never registered smh.
Ok I have a Galaxy Note 4 Model # SM-N910T which shows to be the T-Mobile version. But when I went to straight talks website to see which new sim card I needed to use since it takes the micro sim they have me using the At&t sim. I have found the root method for the t-mobile note 4 here and have read that the at&t note 4 does not have root yet because of the bootloader. So not wanting to inadvertently brick my note, with my phone itself being the t-mobile can i root it?
Thanks for the help.

Hi All,
I'm not new to the forum or on using the tools to flash the Galaxy, but can't seem to find any info on activating a new TT&T sim card on the GT-P1000, it does not have the ATT Manager widget, and I have tried going to the ATT&T retailer that was no help..
Does any here have Experience with this? I currently have it working with T-mobile edge data.

I guess your question is "I have a non-AT&T tablet and how I could use AT&T SIM card"?
Well, all I know is there is a gentleman who has a Euro tablet. He puts in the existing AT&T SIM card with voice & data and it works. No flashing was needed.
What is your PAD/MODEM/CSC setting? open the dialer pad and type *#1234#
Post your versions in your reply

Hey All
right i have just ordered this sprint s4 Blue from ebay for personal usage internationally
Suppose i get the phone on stock 4.3 , can anyone outline the exact process of how i can get this one to work on international GSM networks.
My fault that i didnt ask the android version from the seller.
with what i have learned : this is how this can work
1.. run knox removal script, i mean remove knox files ( as the phone will be used internationally i am not worried about the warranty)
2.. root the stock
3.. downgrade the modem to MDC ( this i have in a form of one click odin tar )
4.. run the unlock tool and thats it ( that also i have from autoprime)
but i am not able to find the required files which will work on the 4.3

I too am looking for similar info as to if this would work to downgrade my note 2 sch r950 from 4.3 to a lower version that can be flashed or unlocked to work with H20 wireless. They had no problem taking my money and not saying anything about bring your own phone needing to be unlocked. And I'm not even sure if this cdma phone can be unlocked, even though there is note 2's that can be and mine even has sim card slot so lay some truth please
Dear all,
I've been trying to solve the following problem for three weeks on my own and have made no progress, and have probably made things worse. So, I figured it was time to get some help at long last.
I bought my S4 I9500 in Bangkok, and I was not aware that Samsung was region locking their phones now, as I had an S2 that I used in Thailand, China and Cambodia without any problems.
So, I bought the S4 and loved it. However, I moved back to China last month, and upon arrival I bought a SIM card. It didn't work... At this point, my firmware was 4.3, as it had auto-updated from 4.2 while I was in Thailand.
The folks at China mobile couldn't figure out the problem, so I did some research and found out that my phone was region locked. I went to 3 Samsung stores here, and none of them knew what to do, nor would bother to figure it out.
So, I had to try to fix it on my own. I read about entering service mode and tried it, but it didn't work. From what I read, it would have worked in 4.2.2, but not 4.3. I tried finding a place to download 4.2.2 to flash it back, but Hotfile is dead, so I got 4.4. I figured it couldn't hurt, right?
Well, it didn't help.
So, basically, my I9500 is at firmware version 4.4, and my phone is still locked. I am in desperate need of some help. I do not care about the warranty, as I am pretty sure I screwed that up already.
BTW: I did try some sites for the unlock codes, but either they didn't have what I needed, the IMEI code was not accepted, only accepted Paypal, or would not accept a UnionPay credit card. -_-
Thanks for your time.
In order to fully understand your case, you said " I bought the S4 and loved it" and "it had auto-updated from 4.2 while I was in Thailand.".
do you say you were using it there and you connected thai phone network with a local sim card for some time?
if yes the phone was to be normaly unlocked for any other region network....

Yep. I used a Thai SIM card for about 4 months. When I inserted a Chinese SIM card, it once asked me for an unlock key.

sim lock is different from region lock,
since you have used your s4 in thai your phone probably is region unlocked by now. (as far as i know)
it seems like your phone is locked to mobile provider in Thailand,
try to use any website that provides sim-unlock code using imei of your phone.
I've just bought a used N9005 and I've used it a little to check all is well and now I want to root it and unlock the sim.
It appears that since the phone was updated to 4.4.2 I can no longer use Chainfire's Regionlockaway app. I've spent a couple of hours searching and I can't seem to find any working options to remove the sim lock. It's currently locked to EE. I've put in a T-Mobile sim and everything works fine but I'm using the 3 network and it won't work. I looked on ebay and the codes are around £16 ($25)!
It's currently running N9005XXUGNG1 and everything seems to be stock.
In the meantime I'm going to have a look into the best (and safest - had some issues with the rooting process on both my HD2 and S3 a few years back!) way of rooting it. Just out of interest, should I hold off rooting it until after I've unlocked the sim? (I can't think of any reason why that would be an issue)
By the way, this is my first post on the Note 3 forum after moving up from the S3, so please be gentle!
Okay, so I thought about downgrading to 4.3 but then that seems to be scuppered by the latest bootloader not letting you use Odin to go back, but there is a workaround that could enable me to go back to Jellybean - could I use chainfire's app then??
Hello,
I just got two Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 devices previously used with At&T and now unlocked. But I want them to be used with T-Mo and since I also have a couple of Galaxy Tab 4 from T-mo I want to reflash AT&T devices into T-mo firmware.
Is that even possible? Because I tried to find any tutorial for that but fail.
Can someone give me links or guide on how to do this?
Thank you.
Go to sammobile and looks for your device firmware and install the t mobile variant
(Not sure if installing a different carrier works though)
