[Q] twrp recovery - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I am hoping someone can help! I have the s4 gt i9505: jftlte with twrp recovery, AOKP rom and the premium version of chain fires superSU. I've come to update my ROM tonight with the latest version of AOKP as I have not done this for a while firstly my phone won't boot into recovery. I get the traditional 3 lines at the tip of the screen then the phone just hangs and will not open up in recovery. Secondly I have no icon for superSu.
Is there anything I can do to get my phone to boot on recovery or should I flash a new recovery mod?
I have checked the twrp app it states I have version 2.7 installed trued to update this but it doesn't seem to have the download file available for the latest twrp.
Any help is much welcome.
Regards

Just be patient. Reboot into the ROM, then try rebooting into recovery. Every once in a great while I get this issue, and rebooting resolves the problem.

offical twrp is not kk compatible yet. have a look at the official thread in the "original development" section.
you should be able to boot after pulling the battery. wait a few seconds before replacing it.
enter download mode and either flash cwm or try the twrp test version.
It is compatible now, you have to find the right file, it's just not on goo yet. Check the TWRP thread in Dev section. _ I am using it on KK now without issue.

[Q] Issue With Booting Into CWM (Manually/In-App)

After rooting my D80010q with ioRoot24 I decided to install ROM Manager and make a NANDroidBackup before I installed Xposed. The root works but an issue came up after I attempted to boot into recovery (CWM Touch 6.0.4.4). I simply got a dead android icon after the LG logo. After I Googled the issue and couldn't find any kind of solution besides attempting to boot into recovery manually by holding the volume buttons and the power button while turning on the device, which failed, I decided to come here.
Has anyone encountered this before and knows of any kind of solution to boot into recovery? I'm guessing it's because the bootloader is locked but I could be wrong. Didn't plan on installing a custom ROM though.
Info:
Carrier: AT&T
Device: D80010q
Android Version: 4.2.2
ROM Manager Version: 5.5.3.7
CWM Version: 6.0.4.4 Touch
Rooted with ioRoot24
Recovery flashed within the ROM Manager app

Alright, I downloaded Flashify. Do you want me to download it from within the app because it said it can't find a compatible TWRP recovery within the app.

Tips for Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T210

Hi guys I just wannted to share my expierence with my Galaxy Tab 3. From 4.1.2 to 4.4.2 I encoutered many problems and created solutions to fix them. And here are some.
The first thing that I had a problem with was when I unrooted and left busybox installed. When I did a factory data reset, the device became so laggy and almost unusable. I I could not root my device for some reason. To fix this, just simply reflash the stock room using odin. After I fixed this, I upgraded to Kit-kat and looked for a custom recovery to install. I went for clockwormod and found my self getting stuck in a cwm bootloop. To fix this, download the latest version of TWRP and install via odin. I strongly recomend to use TWRP as it does not go into a recovery bootloop unlike CWM. Now for Xposed I noticed that the boot up is way slower then before. A simple install of the module boot manager can help.
That's it. I hope I can help some new users with problems on the galaxt tab 3. If you have any other problems, just let me know and I'll do my best to help.
Sent from my SM-T210 using XDA Free mobile app
I flashed TWRP and got a recovery boot loop.
hen I flashed Clockwork, which didn't loop.
So, use most recent one which resets the switch for booting into recovery! Doesn't matter for this problem which one, as long as it is the lastest loader.

[Q] Unable to get to TWRP Recovery

Hi
I am hoping someone can help me please?
My phone was already rooted and not really had any issue up until yesterday.
I have been trying to get a lollipop ROM onto my phone. In the process i decided that it would be wise to update my TWRP recovery to the latest using the play store TWRP app. Having done that, when i now try to get to recovery, the phone hangs on the 'Reovery Booting...' message.
How can I move forward from here? Am i able to flash the original version of the TWRP using odin again?
Thanks in advance

Yes, maybe the TWRP Manager detected one update (TWRP 2.8.5.0) and installed it but this version have bugs. It was deleted of the official page of TWRP too. Flash via ODIN the older version (TWRP 2.8.4.0) and all will be solved. Good luck :highfive:.
I used Nandroid manager to flash the img of twrp when I rooted my phone. Because Odin failed to flash it.

[Topic can be closed] Phone can't find bootloader? and i can't flash TWRP

Hi all,
I got some strange problem:
I did an ODIN reinstall of complete OREO stock samsung ROM.
I swiped in twrp but i didnt want that so i reflashed twrp with odin.
Then i got a red screen while i wanted to enter TWRP. I retried flashing, no luck still a red screen. Also older versions.
I do however seem to be able to boot into samsung recovery mode.
I tried to flash twrp with adb. But my phone will not boot into Bootloader mode? It just restarts?
(as i understand, Bootloader mode is NOT download mode right?)
It is soft brick something?
Any help would be appriciated very much.
Thx!
Mrmoves
EDIT: I just found out im on Bootloader 3.
I have flashed the newest OREO a lot of times now with ODIN. Its works. Going into recovery works as well.
Still not able to boot into bootloader, or install TWRP for some reason?
EDIT2: I fixed it!. i flashed the newest OREO for the 5th time or smhting and for some reason i was also able to get TWRP on it again =)
Now rooted with Magisk all working =)
