[Q] Remove Device Status 'Custom' back to default - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As it says in the title, I just want to be able to receive OTA updates again and can't do so while my device is set on custom.
I've done something before (reset flash counter, triangle away etc...) which seemed to have worked (When my S4 was checked in download mode, it says 'Binary' is 'Samsung Official' and 'System Status' is 'Official... But still when I check 'about device' it says Device Status is 'Custom'.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks
- Eddie
EDIT: I got it working, apologies for making this thread it can be closed now

Help - Set Warranty Bit : kernel - Can't connect with USB

Hi. I have a SM-G900T and tried to root it today using Chainfire. I got a message that it passed, but it entered into a loop where is starts to reboot, displays a message "Set Warranty Bit : kernel" at the top, and restarts after a few seconds. Looking around I saw a lot of advice to essentially try again if you get the "Set Warranty Bit : kernel" error, however when I get into the download mode now windows (and Odin) no longer see the device. I tried getting the latest drivers from Samsung to see if it helped, but it did not.
When it's stuck in the reboot loop I can hear the windows sound for USB connecting, but it restarts before I can verify anything in device manager.
Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
Ok. I'm a fool. As soon as I hit the up volume from the warning the USB connected.
I tried to install the Chainfire root again, but I got the same error. I'm now downloading the stock firmware from Sammobile to try and get my phone functional again.

How to remove "custom"

first my SM-T337A is in soft-brick, when i boot into download mode or odin mode, under system status its "Samsung Official" but under system status its "Custom" how am i going to change the "Custom" back into "Official". this is probably the reason why when i bring my tablet to best buy's samsung support, their software cant read my tablet, and its says "an abnormal software has been found on this tablet" Please help, if there is a method please tell me.
I would like some help also. Messed with the temp root, and my tab rebooted on its own. Used lp fix in odin. Now it's custom status.

I killed my phone please help

Hi all !
I have a Samsung A8 (model SM-A800F) which was working great. I ran Kingo Root to try to install Youtube ad free. The next time I restarted it, it didn't load, and restarted in an endless loop to where "Samsung" logo appears (then restarted again). I booted into System Recovery and chose to reset to factory, but it didn't help. Then I tried flash it using Odin in Download mode. I installed the Windows drivers, downloaded the 6.0.1 firmware for Vietnam (where it was purchased), loaded the file into the AP field, and once verified clicked Start. The progress was frozen when reaching mid-way every time I tried, until it said "an error occured while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software"...
I downloaded Smart Switch and installed in Windows, but the drivers were not able to install correctly, and failed on the component referring to the ID or something... while Modem driver was installed correctly and the phone appeared in Device Manager. Smart Switch didn't recognize my phone and said "unsupported device".
Now I cannot get the phone stay constantly ON, and the screen shuts down and loads in an endless loop, to the "Error occured" screen... When trying to boot to the ODIN Download page, it loads, I press UP for Continue, and then it again shuts down and loads to "Error Occured".
I tried to charge over night but it didn't help. It does the same thing when the phone is connected to the charger...
However it seems that by IMEI it is sill under warranty. I'm not sure if I voided it :/
Here's what the Download mode page says:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-A800F
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
FAP LOCK: ON
Secure Download: Enabled
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0
AP_SWREV: 1
Would appreciate any help, this phone is almost new but now it's dead :/

Factory reset has me stuck on "Checking for updates" - Can I re-flash?

Hi all,
:crying: - Looking for a way to get my Mi Note 2 back to life!
This device has never been unlocked or ROMed before (although it has been re-flashed successfully via Xiaomi's own pushed updates).
It is running MIUI 10.0.something (cannot access menus to verify exact).
The problem
----------------
I did a standard factory reset on the phone.
Once restarted, it takes you through the normal setup screens such as 'language', 'region', 'wifi network' after which I am given the option to select "copy your data from an old phone" or "set up as new", no matter which I select, my phone goes to the next screen which shows "Checking for updates". Here it stays - endlessly...
What have I tried?
----------------------
I have tried a different wifi network but it does the same.
I have also tried selecting "copy your data" instead of "set up as new" but it does the same.
Thoughts
------------
I thought I would try to install a new stock ROM to see if that would fix the issue. However, in order to unlock with the Mi bootloader unlock tool (and then use their flashing tool), apparently to do this, I need to enable something under developer options - clearly impossible when I cannot get to any android menus.
The phone *can* be re-started into the fastboot screen but does this help me at all?
On the MIUI website I noticed the following in the tips and tutorials forum: How to install a MIUI update without unlocking the bootloader: https://en.miui.com/thread-3852597-1-1.html
The above got me slightly excited before I realised that I have no way to place a ROM into the ‘downloaded_rom’ folder in the internal storage of my device (as the article instructs). Note that the reason for this (on my phone at least) is that although a Windows explorer window does open when I connect the phone to my laptop, it is empty (i.e. you cannot see any files/folders in it). BTW - I know what causes that specific issue as that bug was present in the device ages ago - basically, the phone seems to default to be in USB charge mode and in order to see the folders in Windows Explorer, you have to go into developer options and manually change the USB mode and then change it back to MTP mode. Once that is done, you can see the files/folder structures. However, I cannot get to any developer options as I cannot get to Settings at all.
What can I do?
------------------
So my burning question is this: How can I re-ROM this theoretically 'working' device, given the above constraints?
Is there any way to do anything while the phone is in the fastboot mode perhaps?
Is there some method maybe used to recover a bricked device that I could employ here?
Thank you for any help offered!
Cheers!

MDM profile? Managed by IT SM-T597V

Hello,
I have a Verizon Galaxy Tab A SM-T597V.
The device allows me to factory reset and even used Odin to flash the factory ROM onto the device. I’ve even successfully been able to rush through the set up and access settings and enable USB debugging.
But no matter what if I go through the set up menus it eventually pops up and says “Managed by your IT department” and installs an app called “Hub.” The KG state says Prenormal and FRP Lock says OFF. OEM unlocking has never shown as an option.
Has anyone encountered this or know of an option to keep the device installing these programs during the set up screen?
Any advice pointing in right direction would be great!
