i have a gt-i9505 itv variant, with last wanamlite rom (v 3.1, 4.4.2 stock based, odexed, etc...), flashed after last itv available update (modem/baseband: xxugnj8) and a full wipe data/cache. i remember it seemed to run everything ok, but i didn't try it too much time.
recently i bought a new midframe and i followed an ifixit tutorial to swap it with the old one, because it was full of scratches and splinters.
the new one has a different color, it's darker but it's ok because i have the s4 black edition battery cover (bought before separately, replacing my old and broken blue one).
i noticed on the top left corner (i *think* it's the wifi/bluetooth antenna, not for sure) of the old it was written "GI9500 #32-4" while in this new one there is "GI9500 #31-2". i thought it was because of the color, but now i started to think i mounted an incompatible antenna with my country frequencies, because my phone now can't stay connected to bluetooth car for more than a couple of minutes and has a very poor wifi signal.
3g signal it's ok, but i can't try it with 4g (no carrier coverage in town).
so, what can it be? a modem/baseband bug, a custom kernel/rom incompatibility or an antenna not compatible/with bad behaviour? please help!
...although knox warranty was void, i sent on an authorized service center and it was "repaired": thanks samsung. (well, it's returned with OTHER problems, but at least wifi and bt were repaired.)
and many thanks you all, of course. xda community always solves my problems.

Unless it's a software issue I don't think they check to see if knox is 0x1

So i read the 'CORRECT Hardware GPS Fix' for samsung SGS, and i thought: This should be possible for the spica as well..
The SGS contact:

Considering that the gps contact on SGS looks the same as on the spica, it should work just bending it.. I've tried gently bending it up just a bit, with no progress. I'm thinking of opening up the spica bad boy again and bend it up some more.
Has anyone else tried this? Does anyone know if this is possible?
Unfortunately GPS behaviour on Spica is related with baseband and rild libs (mostly libsec-ril.so), for some combos of baseband and libsec-ril GPS works fine, for some it barely works.
I didn't try hardware fixes, but XXIL2 baseband with XXJF2 libsec-ril.so makes GPS working fine (up to 8 sattelites fixed, fix time under 1 minute without clear sky)
Thanks gen_scheisskopf,
So basically, i should re-flash my phone to XXIL2 baseband and use the libsec-ril.so (which u put in system\lib, right?)
EDIT: Ah ok i noticed there's a zip file which u install in recovery mode after you've flashed the phone to the correct baseband version.
thx,

I can't say if xxil2 baseband will work for you for sure, be prepared to experiment with others also.

I tried it and it's working!
So I rooted my Note 4(N910P) yesterday. I then flashed CWM. I get on my ROM to test root, then reboot into CWM to test and make sure it works fine. I go to click on the navigation buttons at the bottom and they do not respond. I figured "whatever, must be a bug or something" and I reboot back into the ROM. I go to use my phone and the touch is 'off'. If you look at the screenshot below, the touch test one, I marked white Xs where my finger is actually at on the screen. Look at the number for the dark grey one, it is over 1440. It seems that after rooting, my device now thinks I have a 1480x2560 screen(touch wise). I'm at a loss as to why. My S Pen works fine, though.
What I have done to try and fix this-
Tried a custom kernel as someone mention an issue with a kernel/driver that a custom kernel may fix.
Tried to go back to 'vanilla' aside from the tick on knox, of course.
Custom ROM at one point, even.
Tried removing and pulling the battery and MicroSD card.

Hi
I recently got a YubiKey NEO token for two factor authentication/security purposes. Has USB and NFC interface. Using it on my computer with USB, works 100% fine, however I have a Note 3 (N900W8) and basic functionality works (such as the OTP) but advanced functionality doesn't (Yubico Authenticator (works intermittently), PGP(doesn't work for encryption/signing). When I have issues I get a "Transceiver failed" error, which judging by Google it is relatively rare.. Most people say it's caused by a power/reception problem with the NFC chip. I initially thought the issue was with the ROM I was running (X-Note 4.4.2) so I downgraded using the Mexican bootloader method to 4.3 and that did not solve my problem, obviously as I learned that this is a hardware issue. I tested with my mother's Galaxy S4 and my brother's Nexus 5 and judging by NXP Taginfo both work fine (on my phone I get a "serious error" unable to read tag message, when on the other phones it reads correctly)
I tried getting a new battery which contains a new antenna (as the NFC antenna is in the battery) That did nothing to help my problem but I get better battery life out of my two year old phone

Nexus 5, can read tag using NXP Taginfo (Android 5.1.1)
Any advice is appreciated, thanks
hey guys,
i have the wiredest problem.
i've phurched a new galaxy s5 and when i connect it to the charger, a charging icon appears but the battery % dosent go up, only down.
i've downloaded many battery analysing app and theey all seem to think that everything is fine, that the current flows and all, but the % dosent go up!
i switched a battery and a cable and its definitly a phone problem (i can charge the battery in another phone)
some suggested that i sould replace the charging port but it looks completly new and fine, and also cost quite a lot of money to replace.
is there any other soultion?
thanks!!
Sorry I encountered the same problem on my old s3. I finnaly solved the probleme by changing the micro hdmi port. Sorry I know you won't here this but i search everything. I replace myself it's not so hard. I do it because my s3 was in ending life.
It does sound like the charger port.....
The replacement parts aren't that expensive (under £10 off eBay).
Just make sure you get the right one....
Look at the pictures......

These parts are device variant specific......
It would probably be a good idea to match 'rev' versions too.....that was certainly the case with the S2....If the wrong rev version board was put in, it led to signal problems etc......

Hello guys,
Just to be clear, this is my brother's device, it has never been rooted, custom ROMed, or anything like that.
It bricked on official at&t software, I tried to recover it multiple times using odin, it would work a few days and then it would bootloop again.
It's getting worse and worse, it won't enter recovery anymore, reflashing the OS using Odin has no effect anymore.
It's bricked.
I don't want to deal with at&t software anymore, especially living in europe (No OTA updates). So I thought about ordering a international G928F motherboard, and installing it in my brother's G928A.
Will that work?
Thanks in advance,

UPDATE:
I disassembled it, everything looks pretty much identical between the G928A and F motherboards. There's just one issue: the charging port doesn't seem to be intercompatible, they are different between models (A and F). I would have replaced it if that wansn't close to impossible due to the capacitive buttons....
Is there anyone here who knows if the G928F motherboard and the G928A charging port are compatible?

UPDTATE:
We took it appart today, I baked the motherboard in the oven for about 8min at 200 degrees celsius. With the aim of reflowing the solder.
It has been working great ever since then! I still can't believe it...

So is it possible to swap G928A motherboard with G928F Model?
