Hey guys, have you found a sleep tracking app that also records heart rate, at least periodically? I've been using sleep as android, and though I like it I don't believe it has an option for heart rate monitoring. Is there a sleep tracking app out there that does this?

I don't understand much why would people love to check there heart rates specially when they are asleep? it just feels like you are already on the road to dying lol..
Why not ask the Devs for the sleep app you're using to add that as a feature? It seems they are very active and doing nightly builds.

That's correct. If the folks with Sleep as Android added it, the app would be one step closer to being a miniature sleep study in an app.

FYI, Sleep as Android has planned to add this feature.
Thanks for mentioning the "Sleep as Android" app here. I was using Runtastic's Sleep Better and didn't know about Sleep as Android. But I've been using Sleep as Android for a few nights now and really like it better than Runtastic's Sleep Better app.

It totally shuts down the phone and notifications while running. So you can sleep . You can setup an Alarm within the app, if you want it to wake you up. It will even vibrate your watch if you want that before the sound alarm starts.

I just release an app for continuously checking heart rate in background : http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-wear/general/app-heart-rate-os-android-wear-google-t3031964
It's new so more features will come, you might want to check if it suitable with your case
fyi - this feature is now working in sleep as android, you have to be a beta tester though

tested it last night very good and also i didnt loose alot of battery over night! i enabled to low power mode for BT its all in the settings.
This looks awesome! Which devices are supported? It is better to track sleep with heartrate than motion? I'm searching for a smart wearable for the best sleep tracking. Want to use it for lucid dreaming (rem detection - vibrate).

I am not sure if it is the best, but I have the sw3, and no he monitor (you can use bluetooth). My wife does notice a difference when I forget to turn it on or if the phone or watch die because I forget to charge one.

Found this app the other day and can't believe I went this long without it!
Screen Filter. It's free from the marketplace. It tones down your brightness significantly under the lowest setting in TouchWiz.
I used to keep sunglasses next to my bed for sleepy-time Reddit browsing, but not any more!
Here's an A-B for you non believers. First photo is at lowest brightness setting in TouchWiz. Second photo is at 34.1% brightness (toggled by Screen Filter widget)

I also use the shortened led buttons mod found in the dev forum and it makes for a much better experience.

Just installed through Mobile Odin:
Good:
NO FCs YET!
Wifi data indicators back!
Network mode setting back!
3D effect in launcher!
FM Working again!
XILA2 overscroll glow, more subtle.
Deep sleep works. It always has! Stop asking!
GPS works in maps app and GPS test apps!
Extremely fast GPS lock, even indoors! Extremely unreal of Samsung devices
Quite stable.
Private browsing.
Market works perfectly.
Faceunlock works. *sigh*
USB mode works!
USB host working apparently!
Vibration works well.
Data stats shows individual apps!
Data indicator working!
Helvetica S replaced by Helvetica Neue (used on retina display iPhones).
Bad:
Google widgets still can't be resized.
You have to manually set APN sometimes.
Market FCs when you try to use voice search.
MHL not working.
Ugly:
New samsung animations, similar to GB.
Google Apps logos in notifications bar look distorted and ugly.
Task switching looks weird. See below in screenshots.
Mirrors for those asking:

The LPB kernel on CM9 works great, with the exception of a much longer swipe being required to go from screen to screen.
Edit: should add the GPS module works as it should on LPB as well.

OK where do I begin, recently I flashed paranoid android from for galaxy note on my phone and while it was pretty good, it wasn't yet developed enough for my usage, one main feature that's missing is that you can't play mp4 videos which suck but anyways after playing around with the rom I decided to go back to ginger bread and I did.
After flashing back and rooting the rock everything was fine except the battery life. Previously the battery wasn't this bad like now. I ignored it for a couple days but last night pissed me off.

Yeah android is not user friendly in terms of analizing batterylife stuff best to check betterbatterystats here on xda forum, with this, also not to user friendly you can check wakelocks. Wakelocks are what awaken your device and preventing it from deep sleep. Deep sleep is the most efficient mode your phone should go into when not using it.
With cpuspy you can check if your phone actually goes into deep sleep. Download that first.
Now regarding PA, its based on cm9, I think in CM9 thread in general section there are tons of post about deep sleep issues and how to fix it.

so if anyone uses gsam, check to see if doze shows up at all when you goto graphs and goto the end. mine doesn't doze at all it seems. and when I look at screen usage, it seems the percentage is higher when the screen is off lmao. wtf.

I thought doze's biggest selling point was that an app couldn't keep it from activating unless specifically told to do so...?
Apparently if the phone is moved even a little bit or the motion sensors are tripped, Doze does not work. It still needs some work.
ahh maybe I'm moving and touching it then. ok so doze is absolutely useless to me. I checked at the end of the day, and not one time throughout the day was it active.

You can turn Doze off if you think it is causing issues... Go into battery under settings, then hit "more" at the top then "optimize battery usage"
That will allow you to disable it completely or just for individual apps.

Yes.. a bit battery drainer and makes my device a bit warmer mostbof the time
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
There is slight drain, but it's nothing really noticeable.. at least not on the latest version of good lock. I had about 2hr 35min SoT at 54% today with good lock running the entire time.. To put it into perspective, I had about 3 hours of SoT with the normal system UI with 49% left.
Either way, the battery trade off is well worth having a vanilla android UI but with all of Samsung's lovely customisations.

To be honest, I have not noticed a battery drain at all.
Even if there is, it should be very minuscule that you would hardly notice
Yes, due to always request location on each wake...
yea its a bit of a drain....i mean..i like it so much it doesn't bother me lol as much as if it was just a ****ty touchwiz alternative lol.... but maybe as it progresses it will get better on battery...the last update from the 5th shows some improvement ...so over time we should it better with more stabiltiy.

The latest version of Good Lock does not constantly prompt location, which is why I installed it and ran it for a bit. The first version did, and that's why I uninstalled it. But since I've decided to root and use Xposed modules, I'm back at the normal system UI.
What issue caused you to uninstall it? I'm rather curious.
any possible way to show icon labels for wifi bluetooth, location ect... in the pull down menue
Seems to consistently take about 4% off my battery. Haven't decided if that's enough to really care. Really like the lock screen.
It took over 15% of my battery (no location enabled, just "everywhere"). It was next under the screen in battery stats. Needless to say I uninstalled it because of that only. Otherwise I kind of liked it except for the multitasking.

I've seen a little bit of battery drain but I get an entire day out of my phone so I'm not worried about it. Never as much as you say though. Maybe uninstall and reinstall it. I love the new UI. Also HUGE update came out today
I think that the battery usage is dependent on the number of routines that you run. I personally just set up the default routine to my liking and don't have any others set up and Goodlock typically stays under 5% usage.
