Is there a way of hiding the power saver notification icon
I dont think so unless some developer do that for root devices.
Yes that would be a nice addition for those who use it a lot.

If you don't mind spending a little to get alot, convince wise. Power control allows you to toggle wireless hotspot along with other functions in one clean customizable power bar.
I take it this widget is better than the Extended Controls one?

Probably because you updated with the latest OTA? The hotspot feature no longer requires root with the latest update.
Widgetsoid is free and seems to work pretty well, also has the hotspot feature.
thanks for the tip guys, just downloaded widgetsoid, just what i needed a shortcut for hotspot!

It doesn't automatically turn wifi back on once I turn off hotspot... I can live with that. I used to use the "hotspot toggle" which has that feature, but I rather have all my switches together neatly.
Sweet, and now I can make the flashlight work too!

Like using the flash as a flashlight? Gravity box can do this, adds a tile to the quick settings screen in the notification shade.
This app works for flashing the flash led https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manzy.flashnotification

With gravity box you can also enable to torch from long press on lock ring or even from the volume down button, super convenient!

Where is the setting for volume down torch? I saw the one for lock ring, but I use PIN and it doesn't work for active display lock ring.

Thanks dude, I was looking at the volume part before, but the "other" part.
It only seems to work from the actual lock screen though. I use PIN and it locks after 15 minutes. If the screen is just off, pressing the VOL down key doesn't do anything. If I turn the screen off and show the lock screen, it works.
I've found even if you slide the ring over to the unlock position and hold it down long enough, it still turns on the torch. Kinda inconvenient in my mind but hey, it's just a side effect of an awesome feature in the first place!
Is there a way to make Tasker have the LED blink? Like blink for charging, and solid for charged?

There was an app someone made for that some time ago. It's under the themes and apps section.

I've just updated to the latest Firmware,
now I have a persistent notification saying Power Saving Mode Enabled and Background Data Restricted.
Very ugly and annoying!
Anyone know how to get rid of it? what a ridiculous feature

Great feature. But to answer your question Settings menu > General > Power Saving > Power saving mode > on /off
And probably in your quick access menu as well
.
I want to keep it turned on though of course. Just not have huge ugly notification that has never been there on any Samsung device I've owned until this July update to the s5.
Horrible
Probably have to wait for an xposed module mate.
I agree that the notifications are over the top. Thankfully I don't use power saving mode.
When I pull down the notification shade and tap edit it gives me the option to turn the quick connect bar off. I turn it off and tap done but it's still there. What does this toggle do? Is there another way to remove it?

It works for me. Keep in mind it only removes it when you first pull down the notification shade...if you pull it all the way down, it'll still be there.

Thank you! Is there any way to remove it completely? I'd rather not have two square inches of useless bloatware in my notification shade.

I don't think there is, unfortunately :\
Hi all,
I got my phone yesterday and moved from my OnePlus One to this new and awesome phone.
In my 1+1 while pressing the GPS (location) option in the notification bar its open a section where you can choose between the different GPS modes (off, device only, battery saving and high accuracy). While in this phone when you press the GPS icon its only turning on and off without any option changing the mode (I have to long press in order to get the settings and then change the mode.)
There is any way to make it the same as my 1+1? I'm gonna root my phone in a few days if it matters.
Thanks!
This option is in los, not in oos. Your oneplus one is on oos?
Long press the location toggle in the pulldown and you can change the GPS/location options you seek

I know that you can long press and get to the settings and change it. I'm looking for the faster way to change between battery saving and high accuracy.

So you have to switch Lineage, if you want that feature
