Verizon Phone to trade for Google Play Edition - One (M8) General

I am looking for anyone that would wanna trade phones with me. I switched carriers and my new carrier does not sell HTC phones. I talked with HTC and they said that an unlocked HTC google play edition will work with us. Would anyone be interested in trading one for my Verizon branded HTC M8?

Moderator information,
I have closed this thread. XDA is not used to sell or trade devices. Please use swappa. I have also removed your IMEI number, as this is personal information and should not be posted online.

buy droid pro on ebay.com

hey, i don't want to wait for the release in europe so i wanna buy one on ebay.com. I found pretty much of the devices on ebay.com. there is often said that the devices has bad esn's and can't not be activated in the verizon network. what is this about?
they say the phone is unlocked but only outside the us. can i buy such a phone or not?
I purchased a Droid Pro two weeks ago on Ebay which just arrived last Friday and I am already very much in love with this phone.
I guess the best option is to get in touch with the seller directly. The best case scenario you can go for is to buy it from a private seller who has a good standing with Verizon. My seller helped out a lot to activate the device, and then call up Verizon to get an official unlock code for me that I just had to enter after popping in my sim card and which worked perfectly! Bad ESN means that it can not be activated on the Verizon network. However, in order to do the unlock the usual way, the device needs to be activated once and that MUST be on the Verizon US network, it is not possible anywhere else. If you do a google search you will find a way to get around the activation by a simple "touch all the corners of the screen trick".. but I am not sure how reliable that is and what happens after you do an update. In case you can not get an official Verizon unlock code, they are available on the internet. However, if you check the other forums, increasingly more online unlock codes have no effect as Verizon is starting to change the databases OTA (over-the-air) on the devices.. and I am not sure whether the developers have caught up with it yet.
Also something you want to be careful about, try to find out how the device performs on your network. Because there are also reports that some users are not able to use their phones with their home 3G networks, even after manually putting in the APN infos. I am sure that will sort itself out as soon as the Motorola Pro officially hits Europe...
Also just to give you a figure of what price you can expect.. I paid $300 for mine activated and supplied with an official Verizon unlock code, oh the seller was so kind to include a 16GB microSD card... I have the feeling this device is getting more and more popular in Europe which might have an impact on the prices on Ebay..
If theres anything else I can help you with, please feel free. I know of at least a handful users from Europe and Asia that have imported Droid Pros so the combined knowledge should be sufficient to help you out Where are you based?
thank you for this great reply. ok i tried out to find some private seller on ebay.com. when this doesn't work i think i will buy such a bad esn phone and give it a try. when you have contact to your seller please let me know. then i can contact him if he sell some more of the devices.
best regards from germany
There is an update of unlock code by Verizon over OTA in end of Jan or begin of Feb for sure, and the unlock code has been changed. But it seems new unlock code provider (not from verizon) pop on web site/ebay.
I just bid one bad esn droid pro from ebay and waiting happily
Hi @vivid i sent a PM to you. Please reply.

Best bet would be to contact att rep and give them your imei number and see if they can pull anything up.
Yeah, try calling AT&T's usa customer support line maybe. They (should) help you. It's a 1-800 number you can find on www.att.com/wireless somewhere.

[Q] Bought a Black Listed Galaxy S5 900A, Now what??

I have a Galaxy 900A
I purchased my S5 from a man through a craigslist ad. He stated the phone was on the AT&T network, while I am on TMobile.
I knew I would need to have the phone unlocked and he assured me that my carrier could assist me. He went on to remind me of the commercials you hear about on the radio... "Bring your cell phone over to our network and we'll switch you for free". I had, in fact, heard these very commercials and made the purchase of $300.
NOT TRUE!!
TMobile informed me that the phone had been reported as stolen when I called them as I was leaving this buy.
What can I do??
I have researched some online solutions for this and there are several sites which claim to do a carrier unlock on the phone (isn't this for phones NOT on a blacklist though?)
There are other sites which offer IMEI repair. Is it possible to Root a phone, change the IMEI number to another number which is not blacklisted?
Any suggestions..? I would prefer a solution that I can navigate myself, a newbie in all regards to mobile software. If the solution requires a seasoned mobile techy-type, who would y'all recommend I enlist for the job?
Thanks so much,
Christy Lynn

Changing IMEI is illegal and may not be a topic on XDA, no one is going to help you. In fact i`am gona report this thread to the mods to be deleted. Good luck, call the police and see what can be done to get you your money back.
I have seen at least 3 cases I can remember in this forum only of people that bought on Craigslist and got scammed.
Here's hoping that people learn that it's a stolen/fake phone dumping place.

Sorry it happened Christy, but as was stated, cloning imei numbers is highly illegal. And as such, discussion of such topic is forbidden at XDA.
Will have to close this thread now.

Phone swapping or eligibility questions...

Hey!
I ordered a Moto X Pure (2015) from someone on XDA, It's arriving tomorrow. I had a question about carriers but Verizon isn't answering my questions and its kinda frustrating.
My good friend needs a phone and wants an iPhone. I have the iPhone she wants and since mine is arriving tomorrow i was considering selling it to her so that she could have the phone she wants, i know all Verizon LTE phones come unlocked for any carrier but i think its after they are paid for in full...My question is, if i put the SIM card from the iPhone into the Moto X and i sell her the phone, will she still be able to use it on a different carrier since im not cancelling a plan, same plan, different phone?
I know this is more of a topic to ask Verizon but i have tried that and its saying my pin is incorrect even though i've checked it 4 goddamn times and its NOT incorrect. Then when i tried to contact a store, they are closed in my area...So i thought that id try here because i always seem to get pretty great and full answers.
To sum it up in a TL;DR for the reddit users: If i swap the SIM cards and sell my current phone to my friend, will she be able to use it on her own carrier, or will it not let her because it hasn't fully been paid off yet?
-Thanks!
First off, the use of foul language is not necessary.
Secondly, while I understand you are getting a Moto X Style/Pure, your question has nothing to do with the phone at all. You are asking about an iPhone you are purchasing via contract or installment plan through Verizon on a forum topic dedicated for the Style/Pure. Please go to the appropriate forums to ask this question. You are correct that Verizon would be the best source to answer your question.

Please recommend a legitimate carrier unlock service for At&t Galaxy S7

I recently purchased an at&t samsung galaxy s7 for a friend for a great price. The imei is clean but the phone is still locked to at&t service. My friend wants to use it on another carrier and the seller offered to unlock it for 50 USD but I suspect it can be unlocked for less, if not for free. I've searched around a bit and have seen a number of online services but I figured I'd consult the knowledge folks here for the best course.
Thanks in advance

AT&T unlocks then for free if the phone is paid on full. I can't remember the website but i did it to my s5
Thanks dirty, but I was under the impression you had to be an at&t customer in order to have at&t unlock it. On their webpage I was having that problem, it was asking for account information I couldn't provide since I do not have an account with at&t.

You could call them (not your local dealer) and see if there is anything that they can get off the phone (serial number) to verify that the phone is paid on full, if so then they should unlock it. Also keep in mind that i don't believe it will work on Verizon or sprint since they use cdma, AT&T and T mobile use gsm.
I used unlockscope.com . Was 25$ and took less than 12 hours
Mine is an att version. Traded my 6 plus for it.
