[Q] LG G2 D802T 3G after root? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
There is a lot of information on various thread about this but nothing really makes it clear to me what I need to do to fix this issue. I'm posting as I'm sure I can't be the only Australian user with this issue.
I rooted my phone and am using a custom ROM, now I am unable to get 3G data. When my phone switches to 3G no data is sent or received.
My understanding is that this is a modem driver issue. But I'm unable to find any instruction on exactly how to fix this.
Android Version: 4.4.2
Kernel Version: KOT49I
Software Version: CloudyG3 2.0
Any help would be appreciated!

Its not a modem issue I thinks. Its band settings issue..
U have a custom ROM. What's ur default telephony network? In build.prop
*#*#4636#*#* what's the default settings? Its equal to default network. Also available in mobile networks as Set network mode.
If you change from the info command. Does settings sticks after reboot? If not then you have to edit build.prop

[Q] CM9 Correct Baseband For India

Hi all, I'm new to this so go easy please!
I am travelling in India and cannot get a data signal, only normal calls/texts.
Can you tell me which baseband I should select from the baseband switcher in advanced settings (Defy Parts)? I don't see an option for India...
I am running Eppy's CM9 13-Jun-12 & CM7 Froyo Kernal.
Thanks in advance.
Select southeast Asia 3.4.3-331. If the settings doesn't persist, then install bbswitcher(you can find the thread in dev section) and use that baseband. Enjoy.
Sent from my MB526 using XDA App
Thanks, tried both, but with no luck, also tried other southeast Asia baseband's and China baseband's without success...
Any other ideas?
Sent from my MB525 using XDA
Default cee-europe also works actually. Are the settings persistent, did you try installing baseband switcher?
Sent from my MB526 using XDA App
Yes tried the baseband switcher app also. What do you mean by are the settings persistent?
I also tried a full wipe, flash sbf & reinstall CM9 with latest 13-Jun kernel, still same problem...

It depends on your provider. what provider are you using?
Thank you for the replies everyone.
Unfortunately I have tried all of the suggestions and I still can't get the data connection to work.
My provider is T-Mobile UK. Perhaps they are blocking the data connection? I've never had a problem in other countries though...
Than its not your baseband. Contact your provider.
Defy baseband query
Hey folks,
I have changed the baseband selection option to South East Asia 3.4.3-331.
After this I am getting dedicated mobile network without any disruptions.
But unfortunately after this change when I accept any incoming call or make any call then I am not able to talk(The other person is not able to hear me and I am not able to hear another person voice).

[Q] ROM with default latest baseband + LTE support?

Hi,
I couldn't find anything related to this on the forum so here it goes.
I know that google has disabled LTE support in latest baseband release. And one would be able to flash the old baseband to regain LTE support. However there's many steps that one need to do to get it enabled (type in service code, change LTE setting, enter APN etc.), not to mention you also loose some enhancements/bugfixes.
So my question is that, is there any way one can build a custom ROM + modified latest baseband (4.2.2) to have default enabled LTE support directly? (means no service code change, APN change etc. and with all the possible enhancement from the baseband build)
If yes, please direct me to the post or instruction, if not, why not?
Thanks for answering!

You can just use the old baseband and have LTE on any ROM.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, as I stated in my OP, I'm well aware of the ability to use old baseband on the other ROMs to have LTE. However, I'd like to have LTE on latest baseband, and also native LTE support without fiddling with the settings.
I would like to learn how to do it if there's no one already doing it, just need some direction to the right documentation/guides or explain why its not feasible.

I don't believe the baseband software is open source. Since the LTE functionality was removed from the baseband itself, flashing a ROM is not going to restore it to the .44 baseband.

I see, that's what I'm afraid of, so I guess the best one can do is pack a .39 baseband with custom 4.2.2 ROM with default LTE configuration then? So I guess my follow up questions is how much of the LTE operation is controlled by the basedband module?
Can a ROM have LTE as Preferred Network setting?
I think its possible to have default APN configured baked into the ROM?

Possible to Convert LS980 to D802 ?

Please HELP!!!
can you guys please tell me is it possible to convert Sprint LG G2 (LS980) to International version (D802) firmware?
looking foward for your help.
thank you!
Yes it is possible with lots of searching and hacking. It is way easier to do permanent SIM unlock procedure and easier than that, use a custom ROM. See link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655133
Here's my knowledge from the conversion. I could follow the steps in that post but the phone never really worked right. The steps to make the phone work on GSM carriers caused menus to disappear from within the phone, such as ability to change APNs. It works but there's a better way.
I flashed an AOSP ROM to my phone. Shameless plug here for LiquidSmooth beta, I've had the least problems getting a working phone with that ROM, actually works out of the box. While on AOSP, I can replace my Sprint LTE SIM with that of another carrier, reboot the phone and then go to the *#*#4636#*#* menu and change radio mode to GSM. I'm using an AT&T SIM now, domestic even and can SMS, MMS and have HSPA+ data, no LTE. If for some silly reason I want to switch back to Sprint, just swap SIM card, reboot phone, change radio mode in the hidden menu. Simple.

Thank you very much mate :highfive: ! but actually what i want is to have D802 (Stock) firmware on LS980. because D802 is getting updates so quickly. ( Knock Code) i searched for a way to convert but i couldn't find it. can you guys please tell me is it even possible? because both devices are have same hardware except the LTE band! looking forward for your advice. thank you! :good:
I know it's possible. I read once what has to be done. There's some trickery that has to be done in the build.prop which makes the phone think it's another model which would allow the flash. All I can say is search. It is on the XDA forum. The term used was CID change. Found a ton in 2 minutes all related to HTC One on Google, finding the G2 should be easy enough with search.
Once time converted, the frequencies GSM 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS 850/900/1900/2100 (3G), LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600 (4G) it work or not?
Please someone answer this last question .
Once converted, will the converted LS980 support the frequencies of D802 ( GSM 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS 850/900/1900/2100 (3G), LTE 800/900/1800/2100/2600 (4G)) instead of the LS980 frequencies ?

Simple answer is "No" . because frequencies are hardware things. we can only change softwares. LS980 will not have D802's frequencies by anyway.

Yes there is a way to do it but I don't know, me too I'm searching for this solution, because I bought a used LS980, and when I plugged it into PC the LG Support tool ask me if I want to upgrade the software of the phone (Into Lollipop) and the actual version at that time was D80230e, I let the authorized the LG Tool to download the update, and when finished, everything goes wrong the phone became unusable, when I push in a zone it react in another, and it was really hard to achieve the first steps of the configuration, when finished I decided to open the phone and look at the motherboard and bingo I found that it's an LS980, then I downloaded the LS980 firmware, I flashed it, and everything became OK, except the lost IMEI, then I tried to resotre the EFS backup that I done before that I upgrade it with LG Tool, and then the phone stay on the LG logo...Right now my phone is out of service, I use it as camera and nothing else...I'm searching for solution every time but I found anything...Is there any solution ?
What about changing motherboard only, will that work ?

How to recover IMEI ?
Sent from my LG-H818 using XDA Free mobile app
On order to restore your IMEI you've just to flash your phone with the ZVD version and let the OTA updates install, then you'll recover your IMEI, but if you flash again with the ZVD you will lose it again

you dont need a custom rom, just need to put the apn settings.

ya... can u tell how to do that ? there's no settings to change the APN manually .. and not only this, I cannot switch the network to 3g mode only, since there's no option for it (there are modes : global, LTE ,CDMA , gsm/umts, ..) no umts only mode!
I even tried the radio switcher app.. phone doesn't support the app ..
anyways , I have downloaded the milestone and pa ROMs .. will try both of them .. n see how it works..
I advise you to stay on stock based (cloudy's, optimus...)
_____________________________________Read more write less and be smart
GSM/UTMS is your setting for 3G it will auto switch to 3G
u don't need 3G only thats acutally kind of stupid since if u very had or low network it will force 3G network and have bad battery drain or worse no network.

[Q&A] SHV-300S: Change broadband

Hi,
I am currently using a SHV-300S. Using the Omega Apps I changed my baseband/modem from E300SKSUANI1 to E300SKSUANA7. Now for every new WIFI network I will have to reset, and thus reboot, the cellphone before log in the new WIFI network. So now I want to revert back to E300SKSUANI1, but I dont know how to do. Omega only provides a list of available baseband and does not allow restoration of original baseband. Anyone plz help!
