Disable Increasing Ring - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since updating to 4.4.4 I have had a more irritating nag at me to remove the decibel level jump you usually get when you get a call. I have been searching for this answer, but to no avail. Can someone point me in the right direction please?
I don't want to use an app. I am rooted, and would like to use it to fix this issue.
Thank you.

Guide/How-To: Disable Annoying Increasing Ring
Unknown if it'll work for the 900v, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

Have you personally done this and had success?

No, but the increasing ring hasn't really bothered me too much.

Thank you. Will check this out.
Know of any other options other than .apk's?

This app puts a stop to that damned annoying feature.
My phone now always rings the first time at full volume. I have to have it that way, I am almost deaf.

Why my thread got closed??

Why my thread got closed I wana know how to make x10 vibrate and ring at sametime when receiving a call.
because unless there is something lost in the translation, it is VERY obvious that the phone can vibrate and ring at same time. its a basic function of the phone. is that not what you meant?

Check the phone manuals dood, or lurk on the phone's setting..

Honestly I don't know why people are assuming you don't know what you're doing, I think it's safe to say you know how the settings on your phone work, after all you are posting on XDA so one would think you're tech savvy enough to know how to enable vibrate and ring...despite the large number of morons on here nowadays.
What I'm getting at is I'm experiencing a similar problem myself. Only my phone no longer vibrates when I receive messages. It will vibrate and ring for incoming calls but only ring and no longer vibrate for sms. I never changed anything, it just stopped working properly about 2 weeks ago and I was hoping the problem would solve itself, sadly it hasn't yet. I've double checked every setting, uninstalled and reinstalled different apps and have emailed Handcent about the issue, no solution so far.
Also, when I go to the notification settings in Handcent and "test notification" it never vibrates now, regardless of the vibration pattern I select.
Any real help other than unfunny childish smartass comments would be appreciated, for both of us I think.

I dont think they are childish comments, but the comments are assuming a lack of technical ability
What troubleshooting have you done? What (apart from uninstalling apps and changing settings) have you done at all? Have you thought that your phone may be broken?
Chances are that if it is failing at vibrate, then no amount of software tweaks or 3rd party apps can fix a hardware fault. TEST IT using the service menu.
(Lock screen - Menu, Back, Back, Menu, Back, Menu, Menu, Back) Service tests => Vibrator. If your phone does not vibrate, then you have a problem. If it does vibrate then go back and check all your settings again - factory restore if required!

How can we assume that the user has any technical skill when this is what was written. If you have an issue, please give a decent outline of what it is (like RVICTORG has done) and the other users can probably see where you are going wrong. "Its not working" does not help anyone.

Dude, have a look at some of the threads he/she has started, it seems they start threads just for the sake of it, and I've come across the same behaviour on other forums from them.
I got it figured out people are nice at Android forums to answer my question and not laugh at . And I do search before I post

People are nice here too, but we get a lot of trolls, questions asked 1000 times and people who don't search before posting... so yeah, we're a little short tempered as well...

No I haven't looked at any of his other threads, and believe me I know there's a lot of idiots on this forum nowadays, but I guess benefit of the doubt before harsh words :S Doesn't matter now, he solved his problem but I haven't resolved mine.
Like I said in my earlier post, my phone will vibrate for incoming calls, just not messages any more. The service test was one of the first things I did and I can confirm my phone will still vibrate. I have absolutely no idea why it's not for messages and I feel like I've exhausted all possible solutions barring re-flashing firmware. I haven't received a response from Handsent yet, based on that and no others commenting here I assume this is just an annoying isolated incident.
Will update if I find a solution. Thanks for your suggestions guys despite me having already trying them it's still appreciated and if you think of anything else let me know, peace.

You started this thread because you had a problem. Now that you found the solution, it is only logical that you post the solution as well. This way, other readers that have the same problem can get help too! I'm sure RVICTORG would like to know what you had to do!

Yeah I tried turning on notifications for the standard app and no vibrating, just audio and visual alerts. :S Thanks though. I'm thinking I may just have to uninstall/re-install Handcent to see if that helps.

Vibrate Icon Won't Dissappear

So this is the second time it happened it is really strange i just dropped my phone , it wasnt a hard drop nothing happened to the phone and the vibrate icon will always be on the TOP even if the volume is on full. The only way to get rid of the icon is go to sound and disable vibrations when calling basically set it to " NEVER"

This is something that was implemented in the 2.3.5 firmwares, there are many ways to remove, the method you choose would depend on exactly which firmware you are using.
Either way, you should be able to find a fix over in the themes section
Can you point me in the right direction? I am not sure for which fix to look for. Thanks once again much apperciated.

Removing Audio Applications in Status Bar (And That Annoying Headphones Icon)

Hey guys,
I noticed when I plug in headphones it pops that stupid little icon up saying "You have earphones plugged, want to launch mah crap?" and found it rather annoying. Especially because I use the Google Music app, and when you're playing music there's two pairs of headphones. Looks cluttered.
After a little snooping through system APKs for which one looks after that I found that it's called ContextAwareService.apk in /system/app/
If you delete this the audio applications area doesn't show up in the notification area as well as the headphones icon.
If you want to remove it, back up the APK first because I don't know if it stops anything else (I haven't noticed anything breaking). If you didn't back it up... you're lucky because I've attached the original APK.
Hope this helps someone, I saw people wondering if you can modify that list. I personally just wanted to remove it because I removed the Samsung crap and it was displaying an empty area and two headphones when I used the Google Music app.
You do need to be rooted for this, and my suggestion is to use Root Explorer if you don't know your way around ADB
i dont mind it i just wish i could change the garbage listed in it.
It can also just be frozen with titanium backup if rooted.
Can anyone confirm if this disables anything else?

Thank you very much! I can't get my head around why that icon even exists? I mean do we really need a reminder that we have our headphones plugged in? Are we that stupid?
Used TB to freeze that service and it worked great. Thanks again.
Now wondering what else gets affected by that service?

For those who have yet to root, you can also use the ICS Disable App function. Seems to work just fine for removing it. I would be interested in modifying the apps and use it, but until we can mod it, I will disable it.

How do you disable a service without root? I don't think this is an actual app... right?
what is the big deal about a headphone icon? are you sitting there staring at it or something? lol smh

If you go under Settings -> App Manager -> All -> And it's in that list, much safer and easier than TitaniumBackup and ADB, and it's easily reversible.

It's more of a preference, I don't like a bunch of icons at the top. Might be a little bit of a minimalist. I prefer to keep that area clean for notifications instead of notifying me that I have a headset/aux cable plugged in.
Long shot.
Do you know how we can get rid of the persistant connected to wifi in teh notification area?
It is not needed and steals from real estate.
Thank you. After knocking out the ongoing wifi notification and the annoying wifi pop-up, this was my last annoyance.
Now that I've frozen it with Titanium Backup, it's all good.

Edit: Didn't notice someone else already answered it, my bad, sorry for the spam.
Go into settings, then application manager, then all and find it. If you click on it it will give you the option to disable it.
This is exactly what I have been looking for, thanks!
Don't know if anyone's said this but, you could name it to .bak so it doesn't go away.

So thankful I found this thread. I was getting tired of missing texts and other notifications due to the volume being crazy low. All better now. It's ridiculous for Lollipop to not have a setting to adjust this. Why would they do that? Other devices I have had have that adjustment, and of course I would always just turn it off. Very surprised Lollipop doesn't come with this adjustment and Motorola didn't see fit to have something of their own to correct it.
So I have noticed that this audio config tweak stops working sometimes. I have to reboot my phone then the audio is working again and not ascending. Not sure what is causing it to occur but it's happened twice now. As soon as I reboot, everything is good to go again.

Chop Twice Feedback: "Tell us how it worked". PLEASE MAKE IT STOP.

So every time I use the chop motion on my Moto X PURE I get a notification that says chop twice feedback tell us how it worked every single time I use it. I don't know how I can block it I don't know what I did to opt in to this but it is incredibly annoying as hell and I want to get rid of it now. Any help will be greatly appreciated because right now it's highly discouraging me from using the chop motion. I've given positive feedback several times already and now I'm giving it negative because the damn thing won't go away! Thanks in advance!
I'm running TruPureX 6.0
Asked this on the motox reddit and only got sarcasm and downvotes. Seriously don't ask any questions there.

It doesn't seem like you get any other notifications from it, and it seems like the only way to get rid of it right now, as well as you won't see those feedback notification anymore. Everything is working fine, including Moto Display, if that's what you'd think it would interfere with.

But then I don't get the notification that the flashlight is on anymore..
I find the notification for when the flashlight is on useless. I'm pretty sure you should know/tell if the flashlight is on. There's a toggle for the flashlight in the quick settings for it. If you really need it, possibly if it keeps accidentally turning on, I guess you'll have to wait for a fix for that notification to stop showing up every time.
