This is known by most of us here, but I recommend switching to T-Mobile. I paid my edge off and made the jump yesterday after testing with a prepaid Sim. All features work just fine. My battery life is now where I expected it to be.
Just do it!
Oh yeah, I finally get LTE speeds.

If you can get them to put up some frigging towers around here I'd love to switch. Otherwise I'd have a nice WiFi-only non-phone.
What does the provider have to do with battery life? forgive the noob question
If you have a good signal, your phone won't have to search for a signal, thus saving power on your battery. My Maxx dies everyday at work because I don't get a good signal. I have switched to T-mobile which has a tower right down the street. I am happy cause my phone should last all day like it is supposed to.

With wcell.com, you can talk to people for free with cell phone; you don’t need to go to the computer for calling as you can call directly from your cell phone with the mobile application they provide. They support over 4500 cell phones so I am sure they support your cell phone too!

Im kind of skeptic about this program lol.
this guy is just trying to earn the commission..
I was in a restaurant tonight in Vienna, VA tonight and was messing around with a friends Droid and another friends iPhone 3GS. I thought I might as well do some 3 way speed tests for the hell of it.
This pic represents a decent average of what all 3 phones were getting. I did several tests and this is about what they all consistently got.
Also, when I was in a different location, I got 3261kbps down, 1306kbps up
Supposedly Vienna has HSPA+ live, but who knows.
I am running Froyo with the new radio, just so you know.

That's the power of Verizon 4G LTE for ya! It's the only network with true 4G speeds.
I like to call the other network's "4G" speeds a slightly modified 3G experience. Or call it 3.1G speeds, because in reality that's what it is! Lol.
not true 4g yet, needs to at least hit 100mbps but its still nice
Has anyone received any info on turning their xooms in for the upgrade. I remember hearing it would happen in Sept and it is the 24th and I have received nothing thus far? I logged into the Verizon site to give my info and still nothing?
just wondering if you guys are getting the same or better data performance with your 3G connection. if you do not mind sharing your download speeds and latency along with location. i live in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

I wish I could get speed like that on 3G
My 3G here damn sucks.. 1mbps at most..
Mod Edit...IMEI Manipulation, to include faux IMEI's is not allowed here.
I did the BYOP thing at the store Wednesday. I gave them my girlfriends Nexus 5 IMEI that she uses on Sprint and my OPO picked up LTE right away! So glad you can use a company discount with BYOP, its so cheap and reception is so much better than TMO,
And just a speedtest for proof.

Sorry folks, this is still a misleading way of accomplishing business...OP, IMEI manipulation in many countries is not allowed regardless. It is best that owners of these devices contact their respective carriers and do things the legal and correct way,
We are not here to get XDA in trouble...thread closed and OP edited ...
