N900T Network issues, firmware or hardware? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys!
I recently purchased a used Galaxy note 3 Tmobile variant model N900T. The phone was sold as unlocked and the seller assured me it was fully functional and recently used on the T-mobile network.
Since I received the phone I have had severe network issues using my T-mobile simcard. The network issues are as follows.
Data network stuck on EDGE.
Voice Network disconnects usually after the first phone call, the phone call itself will not disconnect and is stable but once it is ended the modem seems to lock up or reset i'm not sure which one but it could be an hour or more before the voice network will come back. Sometimes a reboot of the phone helps but not always. When this happens I will receive a NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK ERROR or OUT OF SERVICE AREA.
NOTE: As I'm writing this it is 2am, in LA, California and I have just managed to make 5 calls in a row with no disconnection which is a first! I have noticed however that there is no data service, not even edge, could this be related in some way?
I have done the following.
Contacted T-mobile, they checked everything including IMEI, APN settings, and confirmed no blacklisting or network issues.
Checked that the IMEI number on the label and OS match.
Replaced sim
Tested the phone in different high signal LTE covered area's (Los Angeles)
Used my current sim in various phones, S3, Iphone4, S3 mini. All without voice or data issues, apart from the international S3 LTE which was stuck on EDGE also.
Re flashed various official stock T-mobile firmwares using ODIN. Such as N900TUVUDNF1, N900TUVUDNF4, N900TUVUDNF9, N900TUVUDNK3 and I also believe N900TUVUCNB4 with similar results.
Currently using N900TUVUDNF4
I have pretty much run out of idea's at this point, and decided to post here as a last resort. The seller is telling me that the phone has always worked fine for him and that he does not take refunds. Its all quite suspicious I am starting to believe that this phone has some kind of intermittent fault on the modem. I am hoping there is something that I might have overlooked on my end or some kind of test I can perform here to confirm a hardware fault.
Thanks for the support.

Sorry that its causing so much trouble. The NF9 is the latest 4.4.2 firmware. Weird that it was also not working on the international S3.
Can you check your Apn and see what it says?
For 4g/LTE it should be :
Name: Tmobile
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
MMSC: mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50
Server: wap.voicestream.com
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN type: default

[Q] No Data Connectivity SM-G900F in Canada

Hey everyone,
I have a s5 that i bought in Greece while i was there. i have used it in Greece, Istanbul, and Spain with no problems, however when i returned to Canada i cant seem to get it to connect to the data network here. I am on Fido and i have tried all the various APN configurations that i could find on their support site. i have even left the phone with the store for a few hours to try and get it working and they had no luck. i know that its not teh network or the sim card because i have tried the sim card in a few other phones and it works fine.
Now this is the part that is somewhat confusing to me, I can call and sent text messages.... but anything that requires data, no dice.....
Anyone have any ideas?
Samsung support has been no help BTW. as soon as they see that its a European device they essentially say Oh, i dont have to do anything, call Samsung Europe... obviously that would be a really expensive call.
I had a similar problem with my S3 before and the way I fixed it was to find the correct APN settings and create a new APN setting page and fill it out, dont edit one that is already given to you but create another one and fill it with the correct apn settings which you can get from the fido stores. Have you had any problems with calling and receiving calls ? Let me know if this works.
i have done everything that i can think of as far as apn settings goes. i have reset to default apn settings, delete all the apns, and manually entered ones from customer service, deleted those and nothing... it seems like its an apn related problem, because i can see the network. in the about phone and status section i can see that there is an LTE network available, but my phone just doesnt want to connect to it..... ARGHHH

Does your provider use the 2600 frequency (band 7) where you live?, if not you can`t get 4G mate because the rest of the Canadian bands are not supported bij the G900F.
i get that, but im not getting ANY data. i should at the very least get 3G. the 900F has both of Fido's GSM bands 850, 1900

Did you try a friends simcard?, maybe yours is faulty somehow. Or maybe a data factory reset/reflash the stock rom may solve the issue.

Sorry, i kinda posted this like a noob would. i should have known better. i have tried the sim card in my old phone that i had before a samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket and it works fine.
I just posted this on the fido forums.
Hey everyone,
I have a samsung galaxy s5 that i bought in Greece and i am not able to get it to connect to the Data network of fido for some reason. i am completly stumped as to why. i paid quite a bit for it so it would really suck to get it home to canada and not be able to use it,..
So, before i get suggestions on things to do that i have already done, BEFORE i bought the SM-G900F (European factory unlocked and not region locked) i made sure that the bands would match up on the phone. its pretty much impossible to buy a phone that wont work in north america anymore. LTE is the only big question, but fido uses B1 and the phone has it.
I have used the phone with no issues in Greece where i purchased it, and also in Istanbul, italy, and Japan. I first thought that it was an APN setting issue, but i have been down every route as far as APN settings go. i have reset the apn settings to default on the sim card, nothing, i have manually entered the apn settings from the "how to configure an unlocked phone page" on this site and nothing, i have deleted all the apns manually then only entered the one APN for internet and mms, nothing.
after that didnt work i took thinks to the next level and did a factory data reset and still nothing.... then i took it one level further and re-installed the phones firmware right from baseline by pluging it into kies on the computer and download mode and all that good stuff..... nothing.
The strange part is that i know that the phone can see the network, because if you go under about phone and status, it will show the available network type, be it LTE or WCDMA, it simply says network status "disconnected"
I can send and recieve calls and SMS messages, but no data what so ever, mms, or internet.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Nexus 6P: Calling Issues — Cannot Make Calls, but Data/Texting Works (Verizon)

Hello,
I recently upgraded my Huawei Nexus 6P to 6.0.1 (dirty-flash, sideloaded).
I had trouble getting LTE to work at first (turning on/off Airplane Mode makes LTE work). I kept trying to change Field Test settings to make LTE work.
However, when I factory reset it the phone won't make or receive phone calls.
It sticks on "dialing..." and it just won't work. However, data and messaging work just fine.
I forgot to back up my EFS partition so it's partially my fault.
My IMEI number and MEID show correctly, however on the My Verizon website it shows a different MEID that's nothing close to the original one. The last 2 digits were different. Neither the MEID or IMEI were changed during the upgrade process, so it should have worked fine.
I recently called Verizon Tech Support about this and they said they'd change the MEID within 72 hours to 4 days. (I called Friday evening)
They kept having issues with the server rejecting the MEID and I checked, it's not blacklisted. They told me about a "wrong form" being filled out and ran some tests and nothing worked.
The phone MEID and Field Test menus showed properly though, just calling any other number (even Verizon's activation number) won't work.
I kept factory resetting, even downgraded to 6.0 (clean flash with recovery/radios, unrooting and all that), and LTE worked better, but STILL no phone calls!
Whenever I try to activate it on the website, it keeps telling me to contact their number. I'm not sure if I'll need a new SIM card because I've tried another SIM card and will also not make calls.
I'm not sure if calling has to do with the MEID or IMEI or anything else.
Do you have any tips/suggestions to fix this annoying issue?
Thank you,
Exec360
I've seen the issue going from Wireless to LTE and vice versa but I have no issue making or receiving calls. Texting and MMS work ok also. I went from 6.0 to 6.1 by doing a factory image flash. Now I'm Chroma and I'm curious if I would have this same issue on Stock so I will probably flash factory or a slim rom stock tonight. I'm on Verizon and had a nexus 6, I popped the sim in my 6p and it activated with no issue.

Same here, except I popped out the SIM from my iPhone 5S.
Ironically, when I put the same SIM back into the 5S, calling and voicemail, in addition to data worked, even though the device was recently deactivated from Verizon.
I'd say the issue probably comes up from a corrupted IMEI/MEID or other identifier. (Not completely sure about this though — the IMEI/MEID was the same between popping in the SIM for the first time and after resetting...)
Verizon detected my device as a Huawei 1511 phone and thinks it's an old Samsung feature phone when I run it through support/help pages.
I have the exact same problem with my phone and I don't know what to do.
update: I just flashed the efs backup file and it worked again.
I forgot to back up my EFS partition and I had 2 chances to do so...
My IMEI, MEID and SIM ID show perfectly in the About section, even when factory reset and bootloader locked, but calls still don't work, very odd.
I used Wugfresh and just about every IMEI recovery tool I could find (EFS Professional) but it keeps giving me errors such as "Access Denied..." with BusyBox installed.
Still no email or response from Verizon techs tonight, expecting one tomorrow.
If not, I'll have to RMA.
More specifically, I cannot find an EFS folder or a nv_data.bin file in any file explorer — Root Explorer, Solid Explorer, TWRP, etc.
Alright, I've actually figured out that the problem is NOT the EFS after I sent it in to Verizon.
My IMEI and MEID number and everything else were actually just fine.
It wasn't flashing or anything that ruined my phone... I recently called Verizon one night on my phone about LTE issues on 6.0.1 and after that, the calls just stopped.
In fact, the problem IS on their end.
They gave me a new SIM card and it didn't work. They realized the phone was new on the network and that would cause incompatibility issues.
Now I have to ship my phone to their IT department which takes about 2 weeks.
If that is your case:
Verizon guide to getting your calling back:
First, I'd try flashing an old EFS backup when your phone was working. If that doesn't work, call their support number (1-800-922-0204) and select the tech support option or say it if it asks.
Give them your SIM card number to try activating the phone. If that doesn't work, you can still send in your phone — just ask them and a phone kit will ship.
Sending it in to the IT department will take around 1-2 weeks, so you should definitely have a backup phone or communication device on hand (you can also just use Google Voice from a PC which is a great temporary solution).
I'll say, BIG props to Verizon for giving us very good support.

AN easier method is to use any Verizon phone with a microSIM and activate on their network.
Once the SIM is active, cut it down to a nanoSIM and put it into the Nexus 6P.
It just works. All this about sending your new phone to them for two weeks is crazy.
I pulled the SIM from my LG G3 and cut it. Up and running in minutes.

Unfortunately, my other phone does not have a microSIM. NanoSIMs usually work with LTE connections.
Trimming a microSIM is dangerous and could actually damage your SIM card tray and your phone.
Thank you for the advice, but I should warn you taking that risk may actually damage or cause issues with the SIM card itself such as not being able to read its SIM card number.
EDIT:
After 5 days, 3 factory resets, and many flashes of the older radio, it has been SOLVED!!!!!
First, try disabling, reinstalling the factory version of Google Connectivity Services, then updating it in the Google Play Store.
Next, dial *#*#4636#*#* on your phone application to get to field test mode. This function will work no matter whether the phone is working or not — it's just an information screen.
Click the 3 dots and select "change radio band". Select Radio Band 6, NOT USA or Radio Band 7 — Verizon told me to try both of those and they are glitchy.
Source: "Attaching 2 screenshots. One with band 6 where calling works but data is 1x. Another with USA band where LTE data works but no calling. Looking closely it's set to emergency calls only." (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64149076&postcount=8)
Now my GSM service is working and calls work extremely well!
Glad it had nothing to do with EFS/IMEI numbers after all.
Make sure to set your APN to "VZWINTERNET" if it hasn't been set already.
I'm glad I can share this with XDADevelopers so that they can benefit from this information.

In the US, all carriers are supported for Nexus 6P use. Since you live in Qatar, you may have a different carrier.
Here are a few other points or solutions for this issue:
If your carrier is not Verizon, does your carrier whitelist the Nexus 6P or only phones sold through them?
Do you get an IMEI number in the Settings application? (don't put it here for privacy reasons) If you don't, then your issue most likely has to do with accidentally deleting or modifying the EFS partition. Try restoring an EFS backup. ALWAYS back up your EFS before you install something else or root your phone — and keep it in a safe location! Alas, that was not the case for me.
Have you tried turning Roaming on inside your cellular network settings or have a specific roaming plan?
Do you get decent reception when making calls in Qatar? Where do you have this issue most, indoors or outdoors? You should get 1x at least.
Try the field test mode (*#*#4636#*#*) in the phone application. Go to "phone info".
If you see "GSM service: emergency calls only" on Verizon, the GSM band is not connected which makes phone calls. Switch to Band 6.
Otherwise, if you see the same thing for GPRS, try switching to another band. I'm not familiar with carriers except Verizon or other US carriers (AT&T, T-mobile, etc.)
I've emphasized this a lot, but try a factory reset. Lock the bootloader and remove your custom mods to the system. It may just work for you.
The case may be that the phone service does not work in Qatar, your reception is weak, or you have a specific phone plan. It may be your carrier not being compatible with certain bands, like GSM.
If that is the case, try calling their support and ask them for any possible solutions to the problem.
EDIT:
You also stated that you bought your 6P from Ebay. Many risks can come from buying used phones off of there rather than the official websites. It's likely that someone messed with the EFS and IMEI numbers.
It could be a stolen phone too... in those cases, it would be illegal (in some countries, not sure if in Qatar) to change the IMEI number unless you have an EFS backup. Sorry, you may just be out of luck. Try another solution like Google Voice or Skype (paid) for now until you get it fixed.
Thx bro

Here in qatar, i have one friend having the same fone from amazon and it is working fine. Here no CDMA plus texting and data are working. If the efs is corrupt or as u say screwed, it would work data and text? Band USA and 6 re ok with data and text.. Band 7 dead.
In general, it may corrupt the phone function but texts/data may work fine.
Most carrier connectivity issues usually come up from a corrupt EFS or the service not being activated on your plan.
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ask-question/423732-understanding-cwm-backups-efs-partition-etc.html
For you, it seems like Band 6 is the correct one. No CDMA — and GSM is working again. Good job
Another method to try:
Update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL) - dial *228 on the phone app or figure out your carrier's PRL update number
That might work, didn't affect my calls since I don't use roaming services.
By "Band 7 dead", do you mean that the service just won't connect? My issue came from messing with the bands to fix the LTE issue and messing up my phone.
Try to call your carrier's support — try getting a new SIM card or collect information about the Nexus 6P compatibility, if they don't have it on their website.
Was the phone working since you first used it? Have you rooted or done any system-level modifications to it? Also is your carrier Verizon, because I don't think they have strong roaming service in Qatar... I am in the USA right now using Band 6, working fine.
https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/494218
When you dial, do you get "Dialing..." and just have to wait until it hangs up, or is there static, or a carrier message? Does your friend have the same carrier (Verizon) as you do?
Sorry I'm asking so many questions. I just can't quite identify your issue very well.

Thanks for exerting all kind of possible solutions . really appreciated ... I ll explain next everything ..
First of all I'm no verizon subscriber .. I just got the phone from ebay shipped to qatar .. that's all international buyer ..
well secondly, the service is activated. here is different than yours in activation process. Plus my sim card is working on all other devices, opo, op2, opx, mi redmi n2, moto g ...
I believe the problem remains in the piece I have now (nexus 6p) because im used to buy phones from the US and they work fine expect some missing LTE bands that does not really interfere with calling service.
If the EFS/IMEI is corrupt, will it register on the network normally? will data and text still work?
Band 7 dead means no text no data and surely no calls ... plus when I chose it, i always get called ended right after i press Dial a number
experience with other bands:
band USA: text and data working fine ... calls: when dialing, it keeps dialing until the network fails and returns again like reconnect (the bars disappear and return again) and when i hang up, it respond quickly and execute the action but on,
Band 6: text ok data ok , calls no .. but when dialing, it keeps dialing normally till it gives me (call ended ) and if I try to hang up after few seconds, it freezes the phone for like 10 seconds till it execute the action of hanging up ...
so the USA band is the most responsive band in terms of hanging up ..
when I dial *#4636 .... , and access phone information to change preferred network, it is usually set to LTE/CDMA/GSM (PRL) >> if i try to change it to LTE/GSM (PRL) because no CDMA here, it usually return to the default after restarting the phone .. it does not really change the network if, for example, I choose GSM only .. I still see LTE on the bar .. moreover, when i try to choose 2g from cellular networks from settings, it does not reflect and I still get LTE working .. weird ..
** in all cases, FYI, I always see the carrier name in the top left corner of the screen.
*228 does not work as Im not verizon .. plus any USSDs are not going through as it gives error "connection problem or invalid MMI code"
when I try to access caller ID, it gives error " network or SIM card error".
I tried to call the carrier but they could not do anything. I'm still expecting a call from their back office team who ( i assume ) has more experience
getting a new sim would not help because I have tried different active sims different numbers and I also tried the second carrier here in Qatar (vodafone) and the problem persist.
the fone never worked since i reached Qatar. It was not rooted. I only unlocked BL and flashed the first factory stock rom (fully including the radio), yet nothing
wait wait please don't lose hope
one friend here is also giving me ideas and solutions to get over my isssue, he suggested i flash chroma rom bcz it has more bands. I will flash it and give a feedback.
I really appreciate your efforts and also his efforts @Soulfly3
pardon me if I wrote too many things and for giving all my trials not in order
Thanks
Thanks everyone for helping me resolve my issue. biggest thanks goes to @@scoobysnack who helped me greatly to get over it.
Installing Chroma ROM solved the issue because basically it was a problem of bands. Chroma had more bands that work in Qatar. and I could return back to stock rom again without any problems ( but don't mess up with bands in phone information )
Thanks @Exec360 for offering me your great support >>>
I told you chroma would solve your problems. it has different bands to select and I figured the "AUS" bands would work.
Any advice for those of us operating on Verizon's extended network? I'm using my device on the Appalachian wireless network (with whom Verizon has a network sharing agreement as part of it's LTE in Rural America program), and I'm constantly getting the roaming indicator, even though I know I'm not roaming. I've never dealt with this on any other device, and I've used 4 different devices encompassing both Windows Phone and Android. If I switch the CDMA roaming indicator to "Home", the roaming indicator disappears and the usual LTE indicator appears, but I'm unable to make voice calls. If I switch the roaming indicator to "Automatic", I can make voice calls but the roaming indicator returns and the device tells me I'm roaming inside the test menu, even though Verizon tells me I'm not incurring roaming charges. If that's true, then the roaming indicator is just an annoyance, but it's there constantly (even when on WiFi) and for me it's a significant annoyance. Is there anything I can do, or is this just something I'm going to have to live with?

Won't work with a non-US SIM?

I've been banging my head against the wall all day with this one and am pretty close to throwing my 6P out the window of the place I'm staying right now
My 6P is normally on the Verizon network, but I'm traveling to Italy for a bit so I grabbed a local carrier's SIM (TIM, doubt it matters), and my 6P refuses to connect to their mobile network - as in, no signal ever, emergency calls only. I put the same SIM in my friend's iPhone here and it works fine. I also put it in an LG G4 here and it was at least able to pick up a signal.
Here's what I've tried so far, unsuccessfully of course:
* "Reset network settings"
* Selected TIM in the network provider screen. I get the extremely unhelpful "No Service: Selected Network (I TIM) is unavailable" and "try again later"
* Selected Automatic in the network provider screen.
* Switched between 2G/3G/4G for the above two steps.
* Changing network bands in *#*#4636#*#*
* After doing more research on the bands problem, resetting them via the advice I found here and more importantly, here - I changed it back to Automatic band selection. Tried Euro too for fun, and it didn't work either.
* Factory reset on the latest 6.0.1 build
* Flashed N preview, did a factory reset
I know for a fact that the 6P supports the correct bands via this Wikipedia page. I took a quick look at the logcat and didn't see anything interesting, if anyone thinks it would be useful I can post it here.
What gives? Is my device hosed? Anyone have other ideas on what to try? Thanks!

I’m not sure about Italy but our n6p will work with non-US Sim. I just got back from China and Hong Kong and was using my USA Project Fi and two local carriers (3 and China Mobile) without any problems. Your issues may be carrier base. I did have some drop calls with the carrier 3 in Hong Kong and the set up with 3 was not as easy as China Mobile. I had the carrier 3 Sim installed at the carrier 3 store. But China Mobile installed just fine all by itself automatically as soon as I installed the Sim. You may want to have the local carrier TIM, take a look, I bet its something in the settings with the local carrier TIM.
Good Luck.

Yeah, I thought in general that it should work. Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be able to go into a TIM shop since we're not near one and I doubt I could communicate the issue effectively given my broken Italian... thanks though!
Well, to anyone unlucky enough to have this same problem... I've made some progress! Of the two TIM SIMs we have, one seems to be enabled for 4G access while the other will only connect to 3G - not sure if this is by design or not. I put the 4G-enabled SIM in my N6P, wiped, and rebooted to Chroma and everything worked before even selecting "Automatic".
I tried putting the 3G-only SIM back in - back to no signal. I wonder if the band selection thing isn't working properly? My impression is that it's a 3G only setting and doesn't affect LTE connections, but I could be wrong. I am fairly sure the N6P supports the 2G/3G bands TIM uses around here...
If anyone has a clue on how to make a guide like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/help/signal-selecting-usa-band-4636-menu-t3091439 for the N6P that'd be awesome... not sure I will have time to experiment myself while in the area where it will matter.
Verified that data is still working after restoring my backup too. Calling / SMS seems completely busted though - calls get stuck at "dialing" and SMS messages just seem to disappear.
Any more advice would be appreciated

G930U on freedompop, no LTE connection.

I have been battling with this no LTE case for this Galaxy S7, BYOD. This is the official US unlocked version, and works with Sprint (on their whitelist), furthermore, my wife has the same phone rocking LTE with FP right now (BYOD as well, so on sprint network), so it's compatible with FP's service.
My understanding for FP byod (based on previous exp) is that if the phone was activated on Sprint network before, the MEID and the ICCID info is stored together, so even if BYOD process only ask for MEID, as long as you have the previous activated SIM, the ICCID info get carried together, so you normally would have no problem getting LTE.
This Phone was never activated on Sprint before, so when I first activated it BYOD, so no previous SIM info, but I plugged in a compatible SIM that was activated on Sprint network before (with another MEID though). My initial activation had problem (red bar on my account summary), had to email customer service to add this ICCID. Phone passed the hands free activation and all. No problem using the fp apps, phone, sms, cellular network worked (only 3G).
I then started to do all kinds of reset trying to get LTE connection. I have done,
1.##72786# carrier reset
2. Restore APN setting to default, clear cache, reboot
3. Matching all the LTE related parameter with a known LTE connected phone (my wife's GS7)
4. factory reset
5.Deactivate and then reactivate the GS7 (by swapping devices between two fp accounts)
Now almost three months now, I'm still facing the same issue. FP customer service has been helpful doing the routine checks, but not beyond the suggestion of PRL update/reactivation. The final solution they offered was to deactivate the account and the activate the GS7 with another byod account. I did this just today, by swapping another device in this account, and then reactivate the GS7 to that account.
My very first concern is if the ICCID info has been accurate (not missing or mistaken a digit), but I asked them to verify this at least three times, nothing came back as error.
Compared to my wife's same GS7 with fp, my phone is rather slow to establish the 3G mobile data connection, for example, her phone would almost show LTE instaneously after a reboot, but my phone would be at least after a min to show the 3g icon.
Can someone share some insights on what else I could do? I just could not think of anything else from my phone side to do. A note worthy thing is, when I helped BYOD my wife's GS7, I was in the same boat of needing to add ICCID via customer service to pass HFA, and then all the reset to get the LTE. I actually wasn't able to get LTE connection by what I did, shut off the phone with 3G connection, but next morning I turned on the phone, LTE was there. Along with me, I saw multiple users who had similar no-LTE problem report they were getting LTE same day.
I'm currently in the same situation. I've even tried adding the AT&T LTE bands as instructed on this thread and I'm still maxing out at H+. Anyone know how to enable LTE on unlocked Sprint S7? Any help would be appreciated.

Still Having Verizon / Page Plus Connectivity Problem

Sorry for dragging this issue out again, but I got my phone messed up again.
Situation is that I use PagePlus (Verizon MVNO) It was sorta working, but I was only getting 1X data on my A2017U running version B35. If I restarted the phone, I would get an LTE signal until the phone went back to standby. I got tired of that, and I took some time to try to get it reinitialized per the messages here and on the ZTE forum site.
The result now is the phone starts up, says Verizon Wireless for about 4 to 15 seconds, then it goes to No Service / Emergency Calls Only. LTE never appears on the screen.
To get to this condition, I backed up my files cleared cache and did a factory reset.
I put in a T-Mobile SIM. When I start with that, the top of the screen shows HOME and two bars. I restarted the phone a couple of times, then put the PagePlus SIM.
I can put the PagePlus SIM into my old Galaxy S4 and I get LTE service
With the PP SIM in place, under the SIM Settings, I have:
Network Mode: LTE/WCDMA/GSM
Data Roaming : On
Access point settings:
Name: Verizon Internet
APN: TRACFONE.VZWENTP
MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 311
MNC: 480
APN type: default,dun,mms,supl
APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN enable/disable: APN enabled
Everything else Not Set or None
In the phone diagnostics, it does show my proper phone number. The IMEI displayed matches the sticker on the back.
Current Network: blank
Signal Strength: -1 dBm 99 ASU
Voice Service: Emergency Calls Only
Data Service: Disconnected
Voice Network Type: Unknown
Data Network Type: Unknown
Voice Call Status: Idle
Roaming: Not Roaming
Preferred Network Type: LTE/CDMA/UMTS auto (PRL)
Right now it shows me attached to a Verizon tower since the Cell Measurement Info shows MCC is 311 and MNC is 480. It has attached to GSM signals at other times.
I thought I followed all the right steps. Did I miss something?
Thanks,
Paul
I had the same issue. I had to have Verizon manually approve the device on their network. I still don't have VoLTE, but i have data (4G) and calls. Call them and explain what your trying to do. They should help you.
Thanks.
I tried calling, but their system kept wanting me to enter a phone number to get through. It hung up on my a couple times. I went to a Verizon corporate store today, but they couldn't (or wouldn't) help.
I tried calling Page Plus again just now. I got up to 2nd level support this time, and he went through the IMEIs for my phones. He was saying I had a different number assigned to my account that I couldn't identify. We ended with him suggesting a contact a local dealer.
After our call concluded, I was about to give up, so I started looking at the plans AT&T MVNOs offer. I went to Cricket, and it wanted the IMEI. by using #*06#
I forgot this thing has two. What I noticed is that the IMEI that appears when I go to *#*#4636#* phone information is IMEI2. IMEI1 is what PP has in their system for me. I can't put the CDMA SIM in slot 2
Another weird thing is after I went to #*06#, looking back through *#*#4736#* changes the IMEI correctly to IMEI1. I still don't get a signal. Now I'm getting No Signal with the T-Mobile SIM installed. I think I need to go mountain climbing to get this set.

Hey Paul,
ZTE does seem to have de-stabilized the radio for me as well on B35. Oddly enough though, the Verizon SIM I have in slot 1 seemed to work ok...it was the MintSIM in slot 2 that seemed to be an issue, as it was barred from LTE (and showed 'No Service' unless I manually switched to WCDMA/GSM in the network settings) when switching from SIM 1 to SIM 2 for data and also after reboots when it was the data SIM. EDGE service seemed to work, but only when data was on Verizon or if I disabled LTE on SIM 2 if MintSIM was the data SIM.
It seems that with two GSM SIMs there wasn't as much of a problem...so this does seem to be related to CDMA in slot 1.
I fixed it (I hope...fingers crossed...seems to work better at least for now) by restoring the modem partition from my B32 backup in TWRP but keeping all other partitions in place from the B35 update. So basically I'm on the B32 modem firmware with the B35 system and boot and stuff. Of course, I know that may not be an option for you if you're not rooted but if you do happen to have TWRP and a B32 backup it may be worth trying. Good luck...I definitely agree there's some issue with what ZTE did in B35...CDMA has been affected adversely it seems...and all the typical magic tricks (i.e., using a GSM SIM, booting with no SIM, etc.) didn't seem to bring about a lasting solution either, though I didn't spend too much time on it before I opted to just do a restore to B32...

I've been looking for some help with my phone. Ive had a perfectly working axon 7 on verizon (mvno total wireless) for like 2 years with full volte and all the rest. Works perfect. Now I had an issue ewith the display on that phone and got a replacement shipped out and now even after spending a solid week figuring out exacly how to copy my setup I cant get volte or any voice service at all. Here is what I did.
I'm on RR 6.0.0-20180511, hellsgate 3.18.109, ver 2.3 & baseband TH.2.0.c1.9-. This the old phone and the new one I copied everything over to it exactly as it is except a made a few minor changes. Those are: switching to f2fs data and cache partitions for speed, updating the bootstack to a new B10-B32 version i found and thats it. Modem, twrp version and everything else is the same. So the question is could the bootstack be the issue. Now I also noticed one very odd issue. My IMEI do not match the back of the phone after putting in the sim card but why? This is really odd, it seems that changes the IMEI but how? It still has 2 IMEI and they both start with a 990 number instead of the 861 for the first imei that they usually do. Is there something to that?
