[PROGRAM] Infiniflash v1.2 ~ It makes life easier.

The purpose of this program is to make my life easier when developing on the Android Platform. At he same time it may also make your life easier. I would like to keep this project totally open source and I include all of the source files withing the .zip that it comes in. What does this program do? It will allow you to flash custom ROMs straight from your computer, fast and hassle-free.
In this new version, I have done a ton of error/big fixes, rewrote quite a lot, and finally added wiping functionality. Enjoy!
Infiniflash REQUIRES that your device has ClockworkMod Recovery or any recovery that supports /cache/recovery/extendedcommand.
By the way, if you can think of a better name/icon for this program, please, please, please tell me.

tried to use it
was not successful
1.pluged my DHD to pc (charge only)
2.run infiniflash.exe
3.have selected the rom
4.success comes and says the rom is going to be flashed from recovery
5.DHD goes to recovery
6.after 3 secs back restarted and nothing happened
what did I wrong?

I have a DHD as well and had the same issue. You must install the driver for it to work on your device.
1) Visit this link to download and install HTC Sync (which contains the driver): http://goo.gl/P3ZP1
2) After installation plug your device in.
3) To verify you have the driver, open the Infiniflash folder, hold the shift key and right click on the tools folder. Click open command prompt.
4) Now type in the command: adb devices
5) If your device showed up, it worked! Otherwise, try restarting or syncing your phone in HTC Sync, it should start working eventually.
6) Now that you have the driver, Infiniflash will *hopefully* work from now on.

This looks awesome, and I would use it but is there a different button for wiping to ext 4 and 3? All the roms I seem to switch between use different formats.

By wiping to ext3 & ext4 do you mean formatting the /system partition to one of those formats? If so I might be able to implement it or make an add-on . By the way, which device requires you to do that? I've never heard of that before... are you sure it's a requirement?

Thank you very much! I think I'll port it over soon, but the only bad part about that is that I have no idea how to make GUI's in Linux so it would be command line only .
It's funny that you mention that though because I'm a Linux user myself and never really thought about it.

[Q] Need Unlocking Help -Rooting with a Mac/Online Codes Not Working

Yes, I searched. I have a GS2 Locked to Virgin Mobile in Canada.
First off, I have a mac, so the whole rooting/unlocking thing seems to be impossible as ODIN and the other programs are all .exe's.
I tried buying a code online and they said they couldn't unlock it and most others sites don't like the phone as compatible.
What are my options here?

I have used Heimdall and it works

I'm struggling here. heimdall doesn't read .tar. I extract the tar and I just get an zimage and nothing more.
It seemed simpler on Odin, but I'm lost on this.

Take tar or the zimage and put it in the kernel slot and hit flash, it's less picky about the file type.

I appreciate the help, but it's not that simple. It says firmware.xml is missing when I put it under the load package tab under firmware.
When I put it under the flash tab, it says not a valid PIT type. These are the only two places I can select a file.

could you verify that you have managed to flash with latest version of Heimdall? i have tried everything with beta2, 1.3 and it simply refused to work. i just used a pc to update to latest version, and i have no files to flash to test (it's been one day and if something happens i have to reintsall everything again), so if you could verify this, or teach me a trick or two to get it to work, it will be much appreciated

FWIW, I loaded 1.1 and it was not compatible. 1.2 looked the same as 1.3 for me.

SGS2 has only been supported from version 1.2 onwards, maybe try the newest 1.3 that's just been released.
I have never used it apart from on windows, it looks like you may need to give it a pit before it will do anything.
You should be able to find it in an official rom, when I get home in 4-5 hours ill have a look at it.

HOWTO: flashing via Heimdall Suite 1.3.0
1) put your phone into download mode
2) connect to pc
3) load Heimdall GUI
4) click Utility tab
5) click detect device (if it detected goto 6, if not install drivers which should come with Heimdall)
6) click save as under "download pit", save it somewhere easy to find with a name like SGS2 (no need to add .pit)
7) hit download
8) phone will reboot, put back into download mode
9) click "flash" tab
10) click "browse" near the top and select your pit you saved earlier
11) on the righthand side there is a window saying "Partitions(files)" click "add" below it
12) select "kernel" on the lefthand side below "partition details"
13) click Browse below "partition details", select the kernel you want
It should now look like the attached pic
If it does, hit Start, and it should flash

i think problem with mac is still there :
although i have yet to try flash a ROM or parts of it, to see if it could successfully flash it.
EDIT: nope, it does not work , still the same error

Cant connect to camera

Today I got a G2 and was really excited.
I unpacked it and play around with it a little and after a while I recognized that the camera wasn't working correctly.
I thought it might depents on ths firmware and installed an update to 4.4.2 trough LG Software Suite.
While I was on 4.2.2 there was no message "cant connect to camera" but the screen left black.
Now, after I updated to 4.4.2 trough LG Software Suite, everytime I open the Camera, there is the message that says "cant connect to camera"
I also trie to delete the appdata of the camera in settings under 4.2.2 and 4.4.2! But I didn't helped.
I factory resetted the device while beeing on 4.2.2 but the problem was still there.
I didnt factory resetted unter 4.4.2 yet, but I guess this wouldn't change anything.

Try to flash maybe custom roms and see if it still exists, if the screen stayed black on 4.2.2 then the camera is maybe defect. You can try to logcat it to see or some file doesn't load or the camera just doesnt want to load. I think that the camera might be defect since the problem came on android 4.2.2 and on 4.4.2. That the software is polish doesn't really matter as far as I know.
Im sorry for you that you bought your phone for 220Euro and that then your phone's camera doesn't work then. I wish you luck on the journey to find out the problem.:crying:

Now I have a really more annoying problem!
I accidently removed the USB cable while the phone was updating via the LG PC Suite and now my phone only shows the LG logo short, befor it gets a blank screen and every partition is shown in the windows explorer and has to be formatted

I also saw your post in the thread about that partitioning fixing. But can you try to use another usb cable maybe? And also dont format the partitions in windows. If they work properly on windows and disconnect ubuntu then you can try to maybe use some virtual ubuntu environment like on virtualbox and do it there.
Now you probably know not to disconnect the usb cable when updating, keep distance from the cable while doing those things xd. I also did that on my Optimus 2X accidently but luckily that device was unbrickable with nvflash.

But in windows they stay mounted and in Ubuntu they get dismounted every time I tried nativ ubuntu and VmWare Player so far

Its odd that they always get randomly disconnected in Ubuntu, you could see or cygwin supports all the things you have to do in the guide or you need to also find an different linux os. Did you maybe accidently formatted one of those partitions?

I will try knoppix now.
No, I didnt format any of these partitions.
The only drive which is show as partitioned is drive "G" which is 63,9mb big and contains a folder called "image"

The Camera wasn't connected to the mainboard and thats why it didnt worked

Lenovo K3 note, unbrick guide (stock rom installation process)

Required tools:
1. Sp Flash tool mod edit - link removed
2. Drivers mod edit - link removed
3. Firmwares: K50a40mod edit - link removed
Other Varients:mod edit - link removed
4. Windows pc
5. Lenovo K3 Note(ofcorse )
Before doing this, Take Nvram(imei) backup:mod edit - link removed
Download all required files, then unzip.
install drivers, if device not showingin spflash tool(put your pc advanced startup with driver signature enforcement then install drivers)
Stock rom Installation process:
1.Open sp Flash tool.
goto options(located on top left corner)
then select download, in DA DL ALL checksum options tick on both>> USB checksum and Storage checksum(close this window)
2. select scatter-Loading-File from firmware folder.
3. select Download only. (if u select format all+download your imei numbers will be gone)
4. Then click on download button.
5. switch off your mobile, then remove battery and re insert it, then connect
Big right mark will appear after success.
Follow all instructions carefully,
Don't blame me if anything went wrong.
plz download drivers from given link.
use latest spFlashTool.

at first I want to thank you, this helped me to unbrick my phone, but ofcourse I did deleted my IMEI, SN and so on.
I know there are few ways how to change it, but none seems to work for me so far. I have the right drivers (v 1.1.13), but not any program is able to connect to my phone except to SP flash tool.
So my question is. Is there any way how to root this version of andriod?
I have already tried Kingroot, RomasteruSU, framaroot and not even MTK Engineering mode was not able to help me change IMEI.

Hi,
tried to do exactly what is there, but still no luck. I had only APDB before, so I hoped to be successfull this time with MD1_DB.
But what happened. I already had drives and SN writer (2.1504), but downloaded older version (1.1728) anyway. Got into point where phone was connected and in meta mode. The newer version of SN Writer gave me error message pretty fast and calceled meta mode. See SN writers error message img. below.
I have also tried older version, it took bit more time, then it asked me to fill my IMEI for a second time, but ended up with error message again after that. The only thing different was that phone stayed in meta mode. Put second print screen error as well.
Any suggestions?

Do you know the IMEI/barcode number of the phone? It's normally 10 digits beginning with a 3. I can use it to find the firmware for you.

This is the instructions I followed: androidmtk.com/flash-stock-rom-using-smart-phone-flash-tool
I got android up and running fine, however the IMEI's are missing when and it does not connect to network when I put in a sim.
At the bottom of the previous guide it says there is another guide to load the IMEI's on. Here's the link to that guide: androidmtk.com/use-sn-write-tool
I got stuck on Step 9 as I don't have the AP and MD files. I tried a bunch of files I could find through Google but nothing gave me the pass.
So I found an alternative way to get the IMEI by extracting the MD file from this guide: Youtube.com/watch?v=N6i7Zln1rCE and then loading it through Maui META (this guide forum.hovatek.com/thread-12328.html
Now the IMEI is there and I have signal but mobile data does not work.

Actually the problem was my simcard wasn't detecting the network properly so I just had to manually input the APN.

Oh, previous I encountered a problem of "PMT changed for the ROM, it must be downloaded". But it is easily to fix, just click the "Format" tab, and format it, the problem will be fixed.
And the problem of invalid IMEI, after I put new SIM card into the phone, the problem will be fixed. Thank you very much for you help!
