[Q] Question about CyanogenMod Installer And ROM Update?

Hi,
I've just install from the new installer CyanogenMod the ROM, after 2 automatique update, now it's tagged:
11.0-InstallerXNPQ32P
I think (from the note above the version) it's a M8.
What about the M9 and M10? It's comming in automatique Update (OTA) or I need to install it manualy?
Is the Installer version are something different as Mx?
ps: it's a very stable ROM (version), and I don't want change from a M9-10 right now, it's about know if updates are avaible from the Installer version and if a CyanogenMod 12 (Android L) comming, it's possible by Automatique Updater (OTA).
Hi, same question, please?
Me too ?
Personally, I would install TWRP, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, manually flash an updated ROM and test the new ROM for a while. If the new ROM is unstable, restore your previous ROM from TWRP.
I think I have an even better question.
I hope this is a good question. I have loaded the CM installer version and to my delight I was back on 4.4.2 KK. I did not like the official 5.0.2 L update everything was slow and sluggish and I wanted to get back to root. Upon setting up my deb-razorg and after all apps were re-installed I had received a CM Installer update and I am now on 11.0-InstallerXNPQ32P aka 4.4.4. Click check for updates under system updates yields nothing it simply shows your system is up to date however during the process of updating google play services and I am sure frameworks somehow in my notification shade it shows System update available (Android 5.0.2 System update). I do not want to make this mistake again as this is what I saw using stock ROM right before going to Lollipop. The question is why would I get a separate OTA from Google why would I get an official OTA or AOSP update at the same time I had been getting back to back CM Installer updates? They appear to be two separate updates so not only do I not want to go back to Lollipop I am scared that would brick my tablet since I am on CM Installer. I cannot get rid of the official update from notification shade. Please help the question is not specific to the device I would just like to know why I am getting two different update prompts one official and one from CM installer?

OTA is gone on stock rom

So, i was using custom rom for a while on my phone and i decided to get back to stock so i can sell my phone later.
Problem is, it is not receiving OTA updates anymore!
I've installed V8.1.3.0.LHJMIDI from here: http://en.miui.com/download-261.html and i know there is a MIUI v8.2 update for my redmi 2 prime, but i can't find it anymore over OTA like before.
Can anyone explain what's wrong with this rom?

8.2 update is rolled back due to some issues.
Now, the latest version is 8.1.3.0 (which is also available on the MIUI downloads page).

Any reason to update stock before custom Oreo/Pie ROMs?

My only previous phone was an HTC OneX+. It was not an S-off capable phone. I believe this is why I had to regularly update the to the latest stock ROMs in order to update things like the radio firmware. TWRP and other tools didn't have access to R/W all data points in the system.
Does the Potter (USA) require doing this to update everything fully like radio firmware? Or, will updating to oreo or pie custom ROMs fully update everything to the latest and greatest versions?
Thank you anyone who can help.

If you're updating to oreo custom rom then no you don't need firmware update. You can flash on top of nougat.
If you want pie then definitely do the update to official oreo first as pie roms depend on oreo blobs and updating from nougat to pie custom could cause issues.
After/around oct 18 all the roms moved to oreo base.

Thank you. I'll go ahead revert to stock and update stock before going on to other custom roms.

Can i flash MIUI Global ROM from orangefox using the same method for other roms?

I've been experiencing alot of battery issues in Pixel Experience and thought about changing back to the orignal MIUI Global ROM.
what i need to confirm is:
Can i just flash the file i downloaded from the official site using orangefox recovery? The same Wipe data, cache, dalvik, system. Then flash method?
Can i flash magisk (root it) and still get Offical xiaomi OTA Updates?
If you want to use a stock ROM then why not xiaomi.eu?
coz xiaomi.eu is not on the latest update.
and i want Latest OTA updates

What? No, dude you're just wrong about it, but before I go on, if you want, yes there is a Global Stock Zip that you can flash from any custom recovery and you can flash Magisk after.
About xiaomi.eu yes they have an OTA update and yes they are on the latest version available, both the stable and beta version, as matter of fact they are already on Miui 11 while the global Stock still the Miui 10 version 10.3.4 iirc.

Wait so you mean the xiaomi.Eu's latest 10.3.4.0 is the same as Global 10.3.12.0?
and is their MIUI 11 the final stable version or beta?

No! After you replied I went ahead and checked the right versions.
What I'm saying is that xiaomi.eu is always up to date with the official release.
Now after that where do you even found that ROM (10.3.12)? Are you sure that's that is the right ROM for lavender? If you flash a firmware designed for another phone you will hard brick your device.
Here is the official stock ROM and still V10.3.10.0.PFGMIXM (MIUI10)

How to Rollback from Open Beta 6 to Stable (Without Data Loss)

Hello there,
Recently i have updated my device to latest Version of OPEN BETA 6. But i am facing lots of issue with this rom now. Fps Drop, Battery draining too fast, Heating issue.
But now i wants to rollback to latest stable version of OnePlus 6T (10.3.2)
I have tried to dirty flash of stable version 10.3.2 using TWRP but i my device don't boot up. So i change the partition slot from TWRP & got booted again to same version of Open Beta 6 as before. (Nothing changed)
Can anyone tell how can i back to stable version of OnePlus 6T without data loss? It's very urgent..
Thank you.
You can't. If the next stable version has a later date than OB6 then you should be able to flash that, but no word on when that will be released. Otherwise, you will have to use the MSM tool to revert which will require a full wipe.
