OTA is gone on stock rom - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

So, i was using custom rom for a while on my phone and i decided to get back to stock so i can sell my phone later.
Problem is, it is not receiving OTA updates anymore!
I've installed V8.1.3.0.LHJMIDI from here: http://en.miui.com/download-261.html and i know there is a MIUI v8.2 update for my redmi 2 prime, but i can't find it anymore over OTA like before.
Can anyone explain what's wrong with this rom?

8.2 update is rolled back due to some issues.
Now, the latest version is 8.1.3.0 (which is also available on the MIUI downloads page).

[Q] Remove [0.0.7.3] CM9 Alpha and restore original ROM

I recently flashed the [ROM][0.0.7.3]ICS CM9 (Alpha) found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580286
The CM9 port is a HUGE improvement over Honeycomb, but due to various reasons, including some apps becoming invisible in the Play Market, I would like to return to either the original stock OTA 2 or OTA 2.5 ROM and then update it to OTA 3 (ICS). However, Lenovo doesn't offer the ICS image directly from their servers; it must be downloaded within Honeycomb as an OTA update.
Being the idiot that I am, I failed to make a backup of my original ROM, so now I'm stuck with the CM9 Alpha.
Does anyone have a backup image of ANY version of Honeycomb (3.0, 3.1, 3.2, etc)? Your Thinkpad must be the same model as mine in order for the signature check to work.
I have a rooted Thinkpad Tablet 1838-22U 16GB WiFi (US).
same boat
i did the same thing as above, well i tried to do a backup but at the time i didnt have a big enough sd card around so i said "screw it, i wont want to come back to stock roms now that we have working customs" but custom updates never came and would just prefer to be back on stock so atleast everything works. but have no back up and have tried everything i can think of.
so if anyone out there with a 1838-22u 16gb wifi only us model would be willing to help that would be great, or if anyone knows a way to get around this struggle that would be super.
thanks

Have a ROM now
Xrs,
A friend of mine just gave me copy of his Nandroid backup a few days ago. I flashed it, and it works flawlessly. It is the most recent version of the OTA, ver. 2.5 I think. I would send you a download link, but it is over 4 GB in size! I'll try to figure out a way for you to download it, but if you want to, you can send me $5 on Paypal and I'll ship you a DVD with the files.

Is it still possible to download the backup? My backup doesn't work, and I am stuck. I would really like to go back to the stock ROM.
Thanks

Ill be straight to the point.. most of us have been using cm9 which is ics 4.0.0 since august 2012,each week, well sometimes every two weeks, since they are missing weeks. Cm9 is a nightly, which means there are bugs and issues, since teh rom is not stable. However, most of the problems have been fix and I have had not had any real issues with it, I do use it day to day, till a new custom rom (based off a previous cm9 nightly release) comes out that I want to try. but the roms has come a long way since build 1.
If something went wrong? like you bricked your phone. There is two ways.. create a back up in cwm before you flash cm9... or you can used kdz, which is used to recovery your phone if your brick it or you want to upgrade or download your firmware.
Also please give me more info about your phone. Like what baseband you are using, what country etc.
Also there are some stock custom roms, which are modified version of stock (2.3.6). With features like 1000 GHz overclock, new launcher, file manager and other useful tweaks/mods

Upgrade to the latest firmware using the Lg firmware site. Also make sure you do a back up when you install cmw, before you flash cm9. Also you might want to download the 1GHz Kernel, even if you dont plan to overclock, it will get rid of the battery bug on start up.

[Q] Question about CyanogenMod Installer And ROM Update?

Hi,
I've just install from the new installer CyanogenMod the ROM, after 2 automatique update, now it's tagged:
11.0-InstallerXNPQ32P
I think (from the note above the version) it's a M8.
What about the M9 and M10? It's comming in automatique Update (OTA) or I need to install it manualy?
Is the Installer version are something different as Mx?
ps: it's a very stable ROM (version), and I don't want change from a M9-10 right now, it's about know if updates are avaible from the Installer version and if a CyanogenMod 12 (Android L) comming, it's possible by Automatique Updater (OTA).
Hi, same question, please?
Me too ?
Personally, I would install TWRP, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, manually flash an updated ROM and test the new ROM for a while. If the new ROM is unstable, restore your previous ROM from TWRP.
I think I have an even better question.
I hope this is a good question. I have loaded the CM installer version and to my delight I was back on 4.4.2 KK. I did not like the official 5.0.2 L update everything was slow and sluggish and I wanted to get back to root. Upon setting up my deb-razorg and after all apps were re-installed I had received a CM Installer update and I am now on 11.0-InstallerXNPQ32P aka 4.4.4. Click check for updates under system updates yields nothing it simply shows your system is up to date however during the process of updating google play services and I am sure frameworks somehow in my notification shade it shows System update available (Android 5.0.2 System update). I do not want to make this mistake again as this is what I saw using stock ROM right before going to Lollipop. The question is why would I get a separate OTA from Google why would I get an official OTA or AOSP update at the same time I had been getting back to back CM Installer updates? They appear to be two separate updates so not only do I not want to go back to Lollipop I am scared that would brick my tablet since I am on CM Installer. I cannot get rid of the official update from notification shade. Please help the question is not specific to the device I would just like to know why I am getting two different update prompts one official and one from CM installer?

Redmi Note 2 already rooted

Hello everyone, this is my first thread
Today I receive my Redmi Note 2 , after I power up the device to check wether it is using a not official MIUI rom or not...well I'm kinda surprised that teh rom is MIUI 7 (already???) but still beta ver, I hope this ROM is stabil, and it is already rooted (via kingroot), damn...
Please give me your opinion, thank you
You have two Roms on miui 7.
Developer (beta) Roms and the Stable Roms.
Dev Roms are weekly updated and have root.
Stable is like other do, when they think that a developer rom is OK... They move it for stable.
Go to xiaomi.eu website. There you have the Roms translated to many languages, without Chinese apps.
They cook the Chinese rom to us. And many stores install there rom before send to users. Probably, your is already from there.
Cheers.

As far as i know , miui.eu didn't use kingroot.
Make sure you have the real rmn2 device(not some fake one), and you have nothing to worry.
Simply change your rom to miui.eu's rom then you will be fine.
Their rom is clean, multilang, and with gapps. They also cut the Chinese bloatware off.
Their rom is based on the Chinese weekly update beta rom.

This don't work. You have to use TWRP recovery.
Or maybe install the official global rom: http://en.miui.com/download-274.html
It has got OTA updateds

I have stock recovery and I always update this way.
So finally I download the global rom, and reflashed it this morning hahaha, install the twrp first it is
Mine came with MIUI 7.0. Stable 7.00.66.00 whats the best ROM i can flash on it?
also it gives an error if i try to install it via the updated app '' install.zip failed update.zip signature verification failed'' if i try to install xiaomi.eu_multi_hermes_5.11.26_v7-5.0.zip
Any idea's??
nvm, you have to do it via TWRP because it doesnt work via the updater app anymore. Works like a charm now.
I'm using same rom (7.0.6.0), I think it is good enough, rom is very personally experienced, so you should choose what's best suitable for you
could u easily flash a new rom via TWRP aswell now (custom roms) this rom i use now is a weekly rom i guess it gets updated weekly, but i just installed TWRP 2.8.7. it works really well for installing.

OS replacement vs 'de-bloated' stock ROM?

Scanning the forum today, I came across this:
[ROM] Z.A.D.Mix7 -Stock Base Rom-

It looks like it would solve all the issues I'm having with my A7:
Enable multi-user mode
Enable on-screen buttons
Replace ZTE's built-in apps.
Is this a safer route to go in general than installing Cyanogenmod (when it's ready)? I've got CM on my Nexus 4, and yes, there's nice stuff there that's probably not here, but is a de-bloated stock ROM more likely to be bug-free? More likely for the camera and sound system to work fully? Also, will a debloated ROM allow for OTA updates - or allow for them to be sideloaded? I guess I'm asking, if I were to install this, what would be the procedure to get Nougat once ZTE comes out with it? Wipe and re-flash? Or wait for a de-bloated ZTE nougat ROM and flash that?
In order to flash a ROM on your axon 7 you need to unlock your bootloader which causes your warranty to be void and you can no longer receive OTA updates. Also if you are running a custom ROM you will have to wipe your phone before flashing an OTA update. However if you are running the stock rom you will probably only need to flash the update. I've tried both CyanogenMod and Z.A.DMix7 and honestly Z.A.DMix7 is definitely the way to go. In my experience using Z.A.DMix7 it seemed to be as stable as the stock rim and didn't have any major bugs. The only problem I had with it is that since it it rooted there is no way to log into Snapchat. How ever if you don't want root I think there may be an way to remove root from the ROM however I haven't tried it so I'm not sure if it'll work.
I use the debloated rom with android n-ify, xStana, and gravitybox and it is much better than the stock rom. I haven't tried the cm rom. You would have to flash the stock rom and recovery to get OTA updates.
