Hey there, I've recently made the purchase of a samsung galaxy S4 1337m
Once i got it home, the first thing i did was root it via Chainfires Root, and downloaded
rom manager, and installed CWM, and backed up my original OS with the original root
to a SD Card, once i did that I installed Odexed Andriod 4.3 for US and CAN, when i discovered
there was Chainsfire root guide for this version in particular, i tried to install it, what i did was attempt
to flash the latest root onto 4.3 via oden, after which i would flash the modded software to work for 4.3
however, in the process i ended up losing CWM, and the root all together, so i was wondering if anyone
was willing to lend me a hand getting the root onto my 4.3, so i can get my CWM back on.
Thanks!

I haven't used 4.3 but from what I've read I believe you just flash the .zip chainfire provided from recovery.
So now you will have to ODIN back to stock if you lost your recovery, re-root, install recovery (recommend TWRP instead), re-flash 4.3, flash the .zip provided from chainfire in his post here:

Do you know whether or not I'm able to re-flash with oden using the recovery created by CWM?
Or do i need to download the stock rom for my phone, which i imagine I would do a factory wipe
then boot into download mode then flash the stock rom?

The backup created from CWM should be a .zip that is flash-able only from recovery afaik. You will need your stock firmware .tar file and flash with ODIN. This is only if you surely cannot boot into recovery. If you manage to boot to CWM you can flash your backup of course.
Your STOCK firmware can be downloaded here:

I currently did a factory wipe on my device, and flashed using odin with my stock
rom, things are looking good thus far, will keep posted if anything goes not as planned!
After reading a few threads about the new OTA, ive decided I want to try to get the OTA update. I am already rooted on beanz b4 with mj7
Per my understanding, i need to do the following:
Backup my current beanz rom
Download MJ7 stock .tar file
Go into odin/download mode and push the file through
Reboot
At this point i should be stock?
Take the OTA
reboot
re-root using kingo
install safestrap 3.65
Restore my beanz rom after kingo root.
Are these steps correct? Just want to make sure so that I dont brick anything.
As far as Odin / download mode, I have never used it apart from checking my knox counter.
How do i push the mj7 stock .tar file in? Is there a special windows application i need to do this?
if you have a microSD, you can back up everything to it, then take it out, flash MJE from ODIN, now re-root, flash SS, then flash beans 4. it's easier and perhaps potentially safer to just ODIN flash the MJE tar instead of flashing back to MI7, waiting for the OTA, taking it and continuing. Id link these but im new. If you go to original android dev for this phone, youll find a thread beans has made with the latest ODIN, and all the TAR files.
I unrooted my phone and flashed it back to NI2 using Odin and wiped all my data. Can I, while still in this mode, flash the latest stock rom with odin (Lollipop BPB1)?

If you want the latest stock rom (unrooted) just take the Ota or you can download and Odin. If you need root rom , just root , install recovery and use safestrap and install the latest root pb1 rom.

You can, but then you can never downgrade back to NI2.
If instead you want to retain the ability to downgrade, you can either 1) root the NI2, install SafeStrap, and then install a rooted PB1 ROM, or 2) Use Odin to flash a modified PB1 stock image that has a BOD5 bootloader.
So I was following a method to root my phone. I was able to do this with success. I went to install a custom rom with Safestrap. I had my rom on my sd card, I wiped everything and went to install the rom to find out it was for the wrong model. I didnt make a backup and wasnt thinking so I went to reboot the phone. I cant get it to boot into any rom or recover the stock rom. I am able to get into odin mode and I flashed the stock kernel but that didnt work. Please help.
Kernel I used: VZW_BOK3_KERNEL_ONLY.tar.md5
I know what to do if I can get it to reboot back to a stock phone just need help getting to that step. Please please help.
You can get your phone back to stock by flashing a stock ODIN tar. Alternatively you could probably just get safestrap access back by flashing the NI2 kernel and then flash a new ROM.
NI2 kernel: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934553221
ODIN stock ROM: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911970571 (extract from .zip and then flash with ODIN)
I just need to start fresh on my A510FD and I was wondering if I could simply flash the stock firmware to get rid of TWRP. I have a backup of the original recovery. The question I'm trying to ask is: can you remove TWRP by flashing stock firmware or do you need the backup of the original recovery. If not, could anyone provide me with some instructions on how to flash my stock recovery? Thanks a lot everyone!
