Google app issues on startup - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been having some issues, mostly with Google Apps, on startup. When I reboot the launcher, Nova, never starts, Gmail instantly crashes, and all the rest of my Google Apps, like the Play Store, say they need Authenticated. To fix it I have to go into the settings and clear all the saved data. I have turned off some of the stock bloat and I am sure that one, or more of the apps that I have turned off is causing the problem. I am on U.S. Cellular stock, rooted, 4.4.2 and have turned off the following apps:
ChatON 3.5.831 (com.sec.chaton)
City*ID 1.25.15 (com.cequint.ecid)

[Q] Play Store Issue

My Play store is being odd...
I can see all of my apps in the Play store, all of my apps auto update with no problem. I can install an app that I see, but I can't search for an app.
If I use the Play store search function it offers up music, and movies, but never apps.
Any ideas?

Apps I disabled at first boot

So, coming from a long tradition of rooting and fiddling around when I first booted the Z3c yesterday I was "impressed" by all the apps that are on the phone that I really, really don't need. Now, since we don't have a way to safely root the device I have deactivated as much as possible.

What about you others?
So, how did you "deactivate" the apps?

You go into apps, then swipe to the right to the "All" tab. Click on the app you want to deactivate and there's a button that says "disable"
3 things:
- I personally always stop the app and clear the data
- Some apps you can not disable, that button is then greyed out.
- Some services might not work if you disable the wrong app, disable only if you are sure that you don't need that app. (might sound logic but I've heard many things in my xda-life..)

Out of curiosity which ones of the ones I deactivated do you use on a regular basis?
Of course, I need a browser, emails and a music player so I have nb pro, cloudmagic and spotify instead of chrome, gmail and walkman.

That was really more of a joke, like how can there be that much to disable and still have stuff left on the phone.. :silly:
But, I use Hangouts, the Xperia FB/Twitter are likely for integrating FB/Twitter into contact list (which I like because it pulls in pictures), gmail, chrome, Walkman (I still buy my music on CDs and rip to FLAC), GP Books (I have a couple magazine subscriptions)... the rest I'm not sure on.
What's the benefit to disabling an app if it's not running in the background? It's still taking up space on /system (not that you could use the space otherwise, unless rooted of course).
Be aware, Disabling Device Administrators triggers (some) Apps to get activated again!
So, just in case you wonder why say Chrome, Google+ etc. came back without you having activated them, please check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/deactivated-apps-getting-activated-t2889082
but if Idon't use those apps they will be running in background taking ram or just take memory from my internal storage?

I get a button that says "Force Stop" but no "Disable"
Edit: looks like some apps have disable and others dont.
Why do some applications automatically load up (IE Google Maps) even when I don't run it?

Because sometimes other apps trigger them to run in the background.

Safe Uninstall List?

So I don't see a list of items it's safe to uninstall yet, so I figured I'd start one. I haven't uninstalled much (through TB), but here's what I've done so far with no apparent negative ramifications:
Google Hindi Input
Google Japanese Input
Google Korean Input
Google Now Launcher
Google Pinyin Input
Google Play Games
Google Play Movies
Google Play Music
Google+
Hangouts
News & Weather
Photos
That's it for now... How about you?
I should mention that I tried also uninstalling Google but lost most all Okay Google functionality even when reinstalling from the play store so I had to revert back.

Chinese Axon 7 Google Play problem. Can't install Large App.

Hi. User of Chinese Axon 7 (A2017)
And im currently cannot install large app from Google play Store. Everything above >50MB will trigger play store to Not responding (after download near 100%)
Ive tried install other version playstore and play service and it did the same thing. Is there any fix? Thanks
It happened to me too. I've cleared the chach from the play store app and also from the play service, then reboot.
Hi, had the same problem
Check the premission of the Google Play Store, Google Play store must have premission to the "Storage"
In Settings - Apps page, slecte Google Play Store ,tap permission).

Help installing google play services etc, to play Clash Royale in kids profile

Hi, I've got a kindle fore 8 HD for my kid. Everything's great, except he really loves playing Clash Royale, and it's not available as standard in the Amazon store. I've followed various guides, so have installed ES file explorer, and made it available in the kids account. From within the kids account, I've then use ES file explorer to grab the Clash Royale APK from my cloud account, and installed it locally from within the kids account. I've also installed 'Kids Folder', which now lets me launch Clash Royale, from within the kids account. It actually lets me play, but without google play services, I can't get his previous account to carry over. I've followed various guides to download the apks for the play store, google play services, and google services framework, downloaded them through ES file explorer. Google play services seemed to install fine, but Clash Royale still said that Google Play wasn't supported on my device. So I tried to install the other two apks, but both just said they didn't install, with no hint as to why not.
So:
Do I definitely need the play store & google services framework, or is the fact that Clash Royale says that Google Play Services isn't supported on my device even after I've installed it, indicative of some deeper problem?
Is there an obvious reason why the play store & google services framework wouldn't install - there's a lot of versions of these files, I grabbed 5.1-1743759 (google services framework), 12.8.80 (google play services), 11.4.16 (play store), which were the recommended versions in some guides. Have I got the wrong versions?
Thanks!

I installed the apks from here in the same order in which they appear. Somehow maintaining the sequence seems to be important. I don't have any issues so far (one month).
For any app from Play Store to work properly, especially those which check back with it, you require all these installed.
