Still no LTE option
Are you sure you have bought Samsung Note4?

Does your mobile operator has LTE? Usually you don't see LTE option when your network doesn't support LTE.

Try this way (ROOT is required):
- Install ES File Explorer, open the menu and enable Root Explorer option.
- Locate the file /data/property/persist.radio.lteon
- Open that file, and change its content from false to true
- Reboot the phone.
Hey Jusho,
I'm having the exact same issue with your issue, no LTE option with TELKOMSEL. Have you fixed your issue? If so, how?
Did you purchase 910G in Singapore?
I went to Singapore recently and was able to go to Samsung Service Center... we tried a couple of things :
- Use M1 USIM card in MY Note 4==> LTE option appears
- Put my TELKOMSEL USIM in THEIR Note 4 ==> LTE option disappear from THEIR phone
- Put OPTUS (Australia) USIM in MY NOTE 4 ==> LTE option appears
Today, I went to Grapari and asked them to replace the USIM and tried with the local Samsung Store :
- Put TELKOMSEL USIM in their Samsung EDGE ==> LTE appears
Any idea?
Hey guys, I had that same problem on my galaxy S4 before. I used a Straightalk sim card running on Tmobile. I called straighttalk and they replaced the sim card and everything worked.
Call your providers and ask them to change your sim for LTE compatibility. That is if your providers support it, and your phone supports the LTE bands.
Good luck

Hi,
I can't seem to figure this out, I have the N9005 and currently reside in the US. Anyone knows how to turn on the 4G/LTE on the phone? My provider has 4g/LTE here and want to be able to use 4G/LTE instead of H/H+ that shows on the phone.
Would really appreciate any help. :crying:
Thanks!

1. Change with a root explorer of your choice (e.g. Root Explorer, Solid Explorer or EF File Explorer) the value“false”*in file*persist.radio.lteon*into*“true”*by way of build-in text editor of the root explorer. The file is located in root/data/property. Be sure permissions of*persist.radio.lteon*are set to rw, after altering the file save the file and make it read-only. Reboot your phone, now you will see and be able to pick the option* “LTE/WCDMA/GSM *(auto connect)” in Network Mode menu.*Important: before altering ANY file on your phone be sure you have a copy of the original, unaltered file!!!*Advantage of this solution: even after a phone reboot the option* “LTE/WCDMA/GSM *(auto connect)” will remain visible/activated.
2. When you are afraid or not tech-savvy enough to alter phone files you can download*“Advanced Signal Status” on Google Play. Start the app, go into*Advanced Info*located on bottom of the app and subsequent choose *LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) in the first sub-menu of Advanced Info. In phone Network Mode menu option* “LTE/WCDMA/GSM *(auto connect)” will still not be visible but nevertheless you will be able to use LTE/4G. Disadvantage of this solution will be that after every phone reboot you have to start “Advanced Signal Status app” and reactivate LTE/GSM/CDMA option.
Please remember that LTE/4G will only work in area’s with LTE and your phone data-plan includes the use of LTE. Good luck and have fun!

So you have LTE mode selected in settings, but it still doesn't go past H+, and you're sure you're in a 4G area?
Firmwares and secret codes aren't going to solve this.
Your provider likely uses a different frequency than the phone supports.
You could simply look up your provider frequencies and check them against the phone specs. If they don't match, game over.

The LTE frequencies for the N9005 are 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600.
T-Mobile US uses 700/1700/1900/(2100)
The 2100 overlaps, but unfortunately T-Mobile US only uses it as a support network. Meaning it's not active by default. 1900Mhz is the main network.

Wait a moment is your SIM is LTE/4G supported?
Some providers only allow you to connect to the 4G, if you have such contract. For example, I am customer of Tele2 in Estonia and I can not use 4G either, because I currently have such contract, which only permits me to use speeds upto HSPA+.

Hi All,
I stumbled across this as I am currently not in the US to test this out. Could someone see if this actually works? It supposedly enables the LTE band 4 on this phone even though specs say that there's not LTE on it. I was hoping it would be there as it has the same hardware as the N9005.
According to the Service Mode on the N9002, you can enable VZW LTE Band 4. I believe T-Mobile also uses this band for their LTE. I enabled it for me, but I am currently in an area that I can't test it. I posted screenshots of the Service Mode, and a video capture going into the menu.
How to enter service mode:
1. At phone dialer, dial *#0011#.
2. At the service mode, hit the menu key, and select back. It looks like it did nothing, but go to the next step.
3. Hit the menu key again and select "Key Input" and type "Q". It looks like it did nothing, but go to the next step.
4. Hit the menu key again and select "Key Input" and type "0000" (zeros).
5. Wait until you see "Main Menu"
6. Select [3] LTE
7. Select [2] LTE RF
8. Select [1] VZW LTE B4 on/off
9. Select B4 Enable(). It should now have an asterik in the parenthesis.
10. Reboot phone.
Here's a screen capture on how to enable it.

I tried this on the N9002; Dual Sim variant.
If you have a different version, this might be better for you as I didn't have a custom kernel for mine.

Why?
Hi,
I am from Bulgaria and I bought a ATT locked SAMSUNG GALAXY S5(SAMSUNG-SM-G900A) from a friend.
At first wasn't able to use my Bulgarian sim card(operator : M-Tel) but then I paid for unlocking code and 5 days later I unlocked my phone.
I put the card into the slot and started the phone. The signal bar was showing full but I was unable to make calls or send messages because of "Not registered on network" message. After an hour of reading the internet I found this code *#*#4636#*#* and then went to "Device Information" and on "Network type I change" it to "GSM only". ( I used the code because in the menu I dont have "Network type" option).
However now I can only connect to GSM network which is the problem because my mobile data is only EDGE NOT 3G. Here I need your help of solving this.
The available option of "Network Mode" are as fallows:
WCDMA prefered
GSM only
WCDMA only
GSM auto(PRL)
CDMA auto(PRL)
CDMA only
EvDo only
GSM/CDMA auto(PRL)
LTE/CDMA auto(PRL)
LTE/GSM auto(PRL)
LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)
LTE only
Unknown
There isn't LTE network in Bulgaria so I am asking how to use 3G on the phone. Should I root it(not pretty sure how to do it) or something else?
I posted my question in Bulgarian android forum and one guy told me to switch to WCDMA prefered but when I do and try to connect the operator M-tel it says Unable to connect.
So thats my problem with the Samsung phone so I would be very happy if someone knows how to fix this and help me.
Cheers!
Ivaylo

Just call your service provider and ask them to activate 3G......I had the same problem, they solved it.
I called the operator today and they told me that other user also complain about their newest models of Samsung brought from USA and it's a software problem and to check for a software update. This didn't sound like a good news. Any ideas? Or i should just wait for something to happen.

hi,
You have to contact you service provider and ask them to enable it for your sim/device. Only then should you see it in your options
.Also note it has nothing to do with root.
Take into account that service provider offers LTE/4G and your device is LTE capable and you are in a LTE/4G reception area etc etc
good luck

My provider told me after few day samsung gives us little update that gives in our country that option
Hey bro, go to settings/more networks/mobile networks/network mode... see if you have one option with LTE/WCDMA/GSM, if you don't have it, your device is probably a clone, because 910c has the 4G option, it doesn't depends of your SIM card or 4g on your region.

hi,
i bought a yureka, everything is great. its just that i'm unable to use 3G or LTE on my device.
it always shows edge. on my device. and runs 2G
in mobile networks preferred network type is LTE. and i have LTE service in my area.
on phone info *#*#4636#*#* By default the preferred network comes as LTE/GSM auto(PRL) and network type shows EDGE.
i have tried changing the preferred network to WCDMA preferred, then radio on/off, still network type shows as EDGE.
Plz guys.....I hope u can solve this problem....the sim is perfectly working in other phones!!!!
Hi,
What you need to do is as follows:
1) Put your LTE Sim in Sim 1 Slot
2) in Sim settings for Sim 1 select LTE preferred - for 4G
If you want to use 3G then select 3G
3) dial *#*#4636#*#*
4) select - WCDMA Only - for 3g
Select - LTE only - for Lte network ( when u select lte/ gsm auto it will revert back to edge if no proper LTE signal is available)
Now you are good to go. You don't need to change the sim settings if your reboot. But you need to change the settings in phone info everytime you reboot as it will reset to LTE / GSM Auto prl.
