You can maybe install a trial version of windows and root.
Use ioroot. Works on mac perfectly and easy as it can be.
Connect phone and enable usb debugging.
In your ioroot folder there is a file called ioroot.tool. launch it and terminal will start and the script will look for your phone immediately. Follow instructions what it tells u to do. Very easy.
After root. install and run autorec app. to get workable firmware so twrp or cwm can be accessed. Otherwise u get bootloop (i always do)
Then install flashify app and flash desired recovery (latest version).
No adb commands needed through all this.
After this u can download and flash roms til kingdom come..
(easy boot to recovery while on stock is through flashify. Click option and it will have a reboot to recovert option)

I managed to root and install CWM without using a computer, here's how I did it... I was on gingerbread 2.3.6 so I installed Framaroot v1.5.2 to get root as Mobile ODIN needs root and won't work without it. link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276 then I installed Mobile ODIN (free in market) and the Mobile ODIN flash kernal here http://bit.ly/17kEetk next I download CF-Root here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 unzipped CF-Root and placed it in Mobile ODIN, when you open mobile ODIN it'll say you need to download extra data, but it's only if you're flashing firmware, you don't need to download the extra data just for flashing kernels so ignore it... flash it and Mobile ODIN will install CF-Root then it'll auto reboot... once rebooted, go into recovery mod and you should now have CWM as well as Root access.
Really cool !
I just uninstalled Feacore CWM and updated CWM to its latest version using the Recovery zip ... but I already had CWM installed.
It's good to know that we can do this for the first time, without the use of a computer.
Thank you !

hello sir if u dont mind I need a little bit of help. I am just a beganer I tried to root my phone without using pc through "z for root"app. But the process didnt compleate and app crashed & my fone got freezed(highly sluggish). Then I tried to factory reset, but I was unable to do so . After multiple attempts I succeded through recovery mode. After that I cheked my fone through titanium backup, it told that it doesnt have root access. So I searched xda and installed the app framaroot, and did the temporary root and installed super user through the same app. But after all that when I opened titanium backup. It was was unable to proceed further. Just showing "gaining root access" . So I thought something went wrong in my procees. so I decided to uninstall that superuser app, but there is nowhere option to uninstall that app. And now sometimes my fone gets sluggish & when I check program moniter . That superuser app is on. SO I WANT TO UNINSTALL SUPERUSER APP AND BRING MY PHONE TO ORIGINAL CONDITION(UNROOT/VALID WARANTY). THANKING U VERY MUCH SIR. EAGERLY WAITING FOR UR RESPONCE

A few things first
-Z4Root is outdated and only worked on 2.1
-Temporary root only gies you root access for a certain period of time and as the name suggests it is not a full root solution. This also means that even if you install Superuser it probably won't work properly. Framaroot should alow you to fully root (Aragorn exploit I think?)
To restore the phone to its complete original state just flash a stock rom over what you already have and it should get rid of Superuser
Can someone point me to a simple guide please text or YouTube
I have latest version of Android on tf300 and I have unlocked the device using apk file

Not a guide, but two simple steps would be to:
1) Root your tab, if you are not already rooted. Motochopper works for this. Plenty of info on motochopper on this forum.
2) Easy way to install CWM (although I prefer TWRP) is to download the app Goomanager. From there you can download CWM and install it. You will probably need busybox installed also, which you can download from the play store and install yourself. If you prefer TWRP an easy way to install that is to download the app System Tuner. Google how to install TWRP via Terminal Emulator. There are guides on how to do this. Pretty easy. I don't have handy links but google is your friend.
3) Alternatives are to use ADB to install/flash CWM or TWRP. If you used motochopper you should know how to use ADB. I couldn't get TWRP to work via ADB for some reason on this particular tf300, so I installed TWRP via Terminal Emulator (using the terminal emulator that the app System Tuner comes with). That worked, and was fairly easy and straightforward.
Good luck.
i never get a USB icon (as your instructions state). The only icons I see are RCK, Android and Wipe Data.
i have tried motochoper but it doesnt seem to work although it says it exists.. when i ran it multiple times. i downloaded rootchecker and it says its not rooted.
I want to know if there is a easier way to get a recovery on my phone without using my pc? I have never used ADB it just seems to complicated. Please help as I want to root and install recovery.
Thanks

This thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469995
It's pretty bulletproof, install driver, double click the batch phone, plug in phone, press y and then enter, wait. TWRP is installed, can flash custom ROM now or root using a flashable su binary like this one http://downloads.noshufou.netdna-cdn.com/superuser/Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip
I wouldn't be afraid of ADB, the only use I had for adb was pushing over the image of Loki and TWRP with adb push, and with rooting, look at "IOroot".
Sent from my awesome VZW LG G2
I too had not used adb in the past until this phone. I don't know why I never wanted to use it, but it is pretty simple to use. As long as you follow the directions in the threads for installing twrp or cwm and make sure to do exactly as they say you should be fine. Since there are a few versions of this phone just make sure you are getting the right recovery for your phone
You could use your phone to download the recovery image (TWRP) and use flashify (found in the play store) to flash the image. It's quick and easy.
I used flashifly and works easily. My only question when I used flashifly with art image does it come with loki installed with it. And if so will flashifly take me right into recovery to flash New roms?
Thanks
Sent from my LG-D800 using xda app-developers app
UsingRom Manager or Flashify is not really recommended. Who knows what version you are getting of whatever you are trying to flash. Better to use the simple adb commands and .bat script with loki to properly install a recovery with loki built in and to get root installed.
I used Flashify to install TWRP and I do not know if it is a Flashify or TWRP issue but the backups I do in TWRP has dates at 1970 and the times are about 6 hours and 15 minutes off. Does anyone know if this is a TWRP or Flashify issue?
Trying to decide if I should use adb to install TWRP on my G2.

Thanks Devs. From my VZW G2.
ok i got my phone unbricked now i cant root it i downloaded file i337mvlufne1 andriod version 4.4.2 any help would be great.i tried using odin with cf auto root
Try using towel root, look it up on Google very easy one click no reboot method. I have NE1 and rooted using this method.
Go to the website, click on the image and it'll download the towelroot apk, make sure you have the install from unknown sources checked in developers options. Install the towelroot then use an app like root checker to see if it rooted successfully. Also for better results use the stock browser instead of Firefox or anything, some of them won't download the file but instead open it as text.

I just got my LG G2 back from service. There was no warranty involved at all but I still left it with stock. When I got it back i noticed that the phone had been updated to the 80220H firmware. The batterylife is amazing but I miss Cloudy G3....
Is there any possibility to downgrade so I can get root and custom recovery back? Any way to do it with a tool from a PC?
Best regards

Try to root with strump apk or ioroot, install autorec apk for custom recovery and follow the OP instructions to instructions to flash cloudyg3 or whatever.....
To return to stock, download kdz file for our phone model and use LG flash tools, do a factory reset.

Well... Strump wants to "use bruteforce" because the phone isn´t supported, thanx to the 80220H update. Same thing with Towelroot. The question is, do I dare to try it? The agressive methot, I mean.

Use ioroot http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/ioroot/ioroot.zip, in sideload method, it works fine.
Enable Developer Mode on the phone and enable USB Debugging.
From the PC, with phone connected in usb , tape adb cmd: adb reboot recovery
The phone reboot in the stock recovery, in the menu go to "Apply update from ADB".
In the PC, extract datroot.zip from ioroot archive (in bts folder), and tape adb cmd : adb sideload datroot.zip.
That's all, enjoy and thank @autoprime and @thecubed

The Bruteforce-method worked... now I installed SuperSU from Play Market and all is good. Is it safe to use Autorec even when I´m on the 80220H update?
My goal is to reflash TWRP 2.8.1.1 and then restore my Nandroid backup (made with TWRP)
